For a relatively inexpensive hotel i Garden was a pleasant surprise. We booked a garden room and were pleased to be confronted with a modern decor including a four poster bed and a semi garden shower.
The room was pleasant and clean. There is an impression that the hotel is fairly new and improving all the time.
Across the car park is another larger hotel with a bar and restaurant.
We were impressed and will stay there again.

Took a spontaneous trip for a night. Booked this hotel as it looks good. Unfortunately upon arrival, everything was not rosy.

The bed is very soft. Air conditioning is not cold. Toilet is visible from outside. Quite a dark room. Not worth the money.

It is below expectation. First and Last time. I am taking my precious time to write this review so that you don't waste your time on this hotel.

New hotel, simple and clean, nothing fancy. The room is spacious as well as the bathroom. But be careful with the slippery floor when it gets wet. Quite ok for a quick stop-over. Definitely not a holiday hotel. No breakfast provided, but there is a big mall nearby. Close to a private hospital too. Price is ok for a deluxe, not sure what's the price of the balinese style room. On the other hand, the staff should be guided on how agoda works, as we were charged again on hubby's credit card, but was told only for verification. We sorted it out with the hotel and now waiting for the amount to be voided. Other than this unfortunate event, an ok hotel if you must stay.

We got a room at the first floor of the building. No lift access. The bathroom had a bad odor, but the beds were decent for a night's stay. We didn't have much time to explore the surroundings, but it seemed to be low maintenance. The bungalow had a slightly eerie atmosphere indoors. Parking is available, and there are only a few TV channels to choose from.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during the Chinese New Year festivities. This hotel is located in the vicinity of Ipoh/Canning Garden, which is near my relative's place. For the price you pay, I think it's pretty reasonable that I could fit a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby) comfortably in its Premier Deluxe Suite room. It perfect for a family stay because its located in a quiet environment. Check-In service was fast and efficient. Unfortunately, that's probably where the good part ends.

Out of the 5 nights we stayed, 3 of the days, our rooms went unattended and were not cleaned when we arrived back in the late afternoon. I think their staff needs to be trained to be more attentive and immediately clean the rooms as soon as the guest leaves the room.

No breakfast is provided at this hotel. That's okay for us as there are nice Ipoh coffeeshops nearby.

Pro: Nice refurbished rooms, free wi-fi, quiet environment
Cons: Room Service lacking, no breakfast, no bar/lounge

Where do we start, there are soo many things wrong with this hotel at many levels. Upon check in we were given a room with guest still in it. Luckily the guest was not in their room at that time. On the same night, around 12.30am, we got a call from the night duty lady to move our car since it was blocking the way. We were already deep asleep. Why didn't they tell us to move our car when we came back, which was around 10pm, why wait till past midnight. Then the next day at 1pm some idiot came knocking the door asking us to move room by 2pm. Such an idiot and not even a single hotel staff helped us with our bags, how unprofessional. Around 11.45pm the night we moved, the night duty lady called our room asking us our names and i asked why? She said why we moved room? Oh the communication breakdown between morning and night shift is unbearable. That night shift duty lady was particularly rude and very arrogant, but i don't want to point her out by name. We opted for the garden king room, but the garden was located in the toilet. The room was bad as well. Water pressure was very low, towels were worn out, WIFI was not working and we really needed the internet for business. We really don't understand why the housekeeping staff are soo incompetent. We left the room in morning and put the sign to clean the room, but they didn't even bother to clean it. When we came back around 6pm, we had to call the housekeeping to clean the rooom. It was raining heavily and we had to wait in the car. How sad. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. Be careful.

The room was big and clean mostly.
The hotel itself is located quite near town.
The toilet at the lobby is outside the building, and is terrible. Avoid at all costs.
Staff are alright for point to point staying.
They don't have extra pillows, which is very odd and they cite full occupancy, when it clearly isn't. Odd.
They'll give you a generic aircond remote when checking in and it depends on your luck it if works. Ours didn't. Had to get a replacement at 1am from the frontdesk.
Bathroom is very clean. Quite spacious. Others have posted about water stagnating at the shower. This is true.
They'll get a deposit of between RM50 to RM100 from you upon checking in, and if you don't steal their remotes, they'll give you the deposit back.
It's not a bad deal at all just to get a good room to shower, rest and sleep in. No-frills.

Firstly and most importantly, this hotel is not in the centre of Ipoh and is not within any sort of reasonable walking distance. Second, the staff are unhelpful- except for one man who was on duty in the morning, there was no effort made by any of the others. There is no elevator so you have to drag bags up the stairs with no assistance from anyone. Though the room was spacious, this meant it took a long time for the air con to cool it down at all. The hotel does have potential but the staffs' completely passivity was inexcusable. We checked out a day early and were not even asked why and whether everything was alright with the stay. Overall, you can find somewhere much better in Ipoh for around the same price, and I will not be returning to this hotel.

This is the worse ever hotel we have booked. We paid the money for a premier room, ended up the room is so dark and feel spoky. We requested to change a room and the staff said it is full. My son (3yo toddler) not even dare to go into the room and he rather sleep in the car. We ended up wasted the money and go somewhere else to stay.

We had one of the rooms with a built in parking garage. The rooms were small but it worked as you would want to spend more time outside than in the room. The surrounding area has a very nice garden to chill out at. There are some nicer looking rooms with a different theme on a separate section from the main building (converted house to hotel). Overall the location is perfect at Canning Park. Would return.
