In my haste, I forgot to pick up my holding deposit on departure (granted it was only a small amount) and I always maintained I do not want it back but do put it towards the upgrading of their towels and bedding - which have seen better days, My first two emails were ignored, a simple acknowledgement would suffice, instead, there were loads of excuses and denials - for a start a receipt was never issued that the deposit was refunded. It only makes one to conclude that perhaps someone allegedly misappropriated this money, that’s why it did not show up on the system at the end of the day. The towels and bedding are positively grey in colour and it is high time that these are replaced with new ones. The windows (one without handle, cannot be shut at all) to the front of the hotel are not double glazed so it is very noisy being situated on the main road and facing a junction. The smell of cigarettes smoke came through, not sure either from the air conditioning vent or from the windows, but we had to sleep with our masks on! Ipoh Downtown Hotel - you only had to acknowledge my email and say ‘thank you for your contribution and feed back’.

Quiet hotel with extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. We had a twin room which was quite spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Good hot shower. Free parking below. Within walking distance to Ipoh Parade Mall and also old town is 1km away. A walkable distance too to see the old Colonial buildings and Concubine Lane. Hawkers centre and coin laundry opposite. Very good value for the price paid. Highly recommended.

A clean city hotel with no frills and nice thing was, the hotel had five free parking bays in a side lane next to it. We stayed a night and it was easy to walk to nearby restaurants for dinner. In the morning we walked again for a few meters to get hot noodles and local coffee and also got the famous Lim Kheng Aun salted chickens home. Hotel was clean and comfortable with instant coffee and an electrical kettle to boil water. Two bottles of drinking water were also provided.

The location is superb! 1min walking distance to famous Foh San and Ming court dim sum restaurant. We booked 2 rooms for 1 night, the rooms are clean, bright and cozy. The hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. However, ask for an extra pillow, they will charge RM5 for the rental fee. This is the first time I have encountered a hotel charging for extra pillows。 Other than this, everything is perfect!

This hotel is located at the centre of Ipoh's downtown and a lot of the famous eateries are within walking distance, so is very convenient. We had booked a triple beds room for two nights and got a good price as stayed during weekdays, the room is spacious and clean for the price we paid, nothing special though.

Unfriendly - we asked, if our 4 year old son may use the restroom. The answer was a clear “no”. With such unfriendly/unhelpful front staff, we would never check in here. Better go somewhere else. ——— Unfriendly - we asked, if our 4 year old son may use the restroom. The answer was a clear “no”. With such unfriendly/unhelpful front staff, we would never check in here. The hotel was fully booked that weekend but the receptionist identified me before I even took out my booking. We were assigned Room 115. Although on lower floors, the room has the view of the petrol stations and Ipoh Parade. However, because it was on the first floor and facing the road and petrol stations, we can hear the traffic the whole night. I think some staff parked their bikes just below the room. We can hear the loud engines whenever some one starts his/her bike. There were two single beds in the room. When we stepped into the room, one of the beds was not at its headboard. The bed was pushed all the way to beneath the window. We pushed it back and guessed the previous guest had pushed it there to get away from the aircon. Room is spacious. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is also spacious. Only bath towels provided (no hand or face towels). We ran out of toilet paper and tissue after one night. We requested for additional toilet paper but my mom wasn't able to wait for it. Luckily, our neighbouring rooms were checking out so we managed to get a used toilet roll from one of the rooms. Hotel needs some repairs/upgrade here and there. For example, we need to tap the card key several times in the lift to press our floor, and the tap is coming apart from the sink. You need to hold the tap to turn the water on and off.

The location of this hotel is strategic: within walking distance to shopping centre, food courts and the night market. The room is clean and the wifi coverage is excellent. The staff is very polite and helpful. I will definitely stay in this hotel for my next visit.

It’s located in the Center of the town. Very convenient and easy accessible to other places.. Walking distance to all the authentic local food stalls and restaurants near by. The room that we stayed was big and comfortable. With friendly and helpful staffs. When we checked out, we didn’t realize that we left our belonging in the room. Then the staff immediately returned it back to us. We were so impressed with their good services here. Recommend to stay here!
