Hotel location is great if your objective is to eat all the nice food in Ipoh. Nearby is the Salt Baked Chicken, Lou Wang Tauge Chicken, Ong Kee Tauge Chicken, Tuck Kee for the Ipoh Horfun and octopus legs. You can also have desserts at Funny Mountain for bean curd. If you like to buy food souvenir, go to the famous Sin Eng Heong bakery for kaya puff. Beside the hotel, there is pasar malam night market at night called Gerbang Malam. This only sells some clothes, toys. There is no food truck. Mostly Malay sellers. Grab is very convenient and quite cheap. Most of my trips are just worth 5myr. Ipoh Parade Mall is nearby like a 7 min ride only. I also took grab from this hotel to various popular dimsum stalls like Ming Court, Foh San and also the popular Ipoh coffee place called Nam Heong and Sin Yoon Loong. The hotel condition is a bit run down. There is no buffet breakfast. Dont expect anything else. It's a very basic hotel.

This is a basic hotel in the heart of Ipoh old town. The warm hotel staff are really helpful. If you hate driving around, and don't mind walking, then this hotel is definitely a value for money. While this hotel hits strong points for location and service, it still falls short for 1) Weak Water Pressure in the bathrooms 2) Limited choice of Tv Channels

The room that we stayed, got lights blinking when u switch on any switch for power. So what do you do? Try to call the receptionist via phone, the phone is spoilt. Can anything else goes wrong? The aircon remote can’t be used to adjust fan speed. Mentioned all the problem, reluctantly they asked us to change room. So you got to move all the bags to another room. We decided to stay put and bear with it. One thing I appreciate About them is they are very generous to give us spare pillows.

Positives. Excellent location. Basic room but very clean. Good shower. Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel got us taxi to train station for 7/10 rings. When we arrived we were charged 22 !!!!!! Negatives. Some guests smoke in their rooms, even though it is a none smoking hotel. For us a big negative was no breakfast. We had to search hard to find some where for a basic western breakfast. ie toast and eggs. We are seasoned travellers, always enjoy the regional food but do enjoy a simple western breakfast. If all you eat is western food Ipoh is definitely not a place for you. Watch where you walk at night there are open drains so you could have a c****y night out, literally. It is worth a short visit and like us travel by train from KL. We booked tickets online in advance.

The room was clean and basic, but comfortable. It is located very close to the famous Lou Wong and On Kee chicken rice shops. Price is very reasonable considering the location. Front desk was also very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for something budget friendly and close to the eateries.

Hotel at a very good location, near to popular food places and just a walk away from Gerbang Malam bazaar. Superior double room is quite small but enough to fit 2 people. Don't bring big luggages. Got free private parkings which is a big advantage as parking spaces around the area is infested with beggars asking for money each time you park. Friendly and responsible staff.

Lovely place to stay in Ipoh if you only concern about the location. It is centrally located, at a walking distance from the city centre and near nice restaurants. Though the room might seem a bit old but it was clean. Nice & helpful staff. Definitely a good place to spend the night in Ipoh.

The hotel has very nice pictures when you do the booking, but reality was really different upon our arrival. Instead of the nicely painted walls there was only plywood on the wall behind the bed. Windows were not possible to close. On the other hand when we approached the staff that we want a different room, they gave us a different one, which was better, but still no chance to close the window in bathroom, so the heat from street would still get in.

Most reviews here tend to rate it as if it was a higher class category when it is clearly stated as a 2-star hotel. Don’t ask for peaceful sleep when it is right smack in the middle of the most happening place in Ipoh town. Don’t ask for 5-star service when it is. 2-star hotel. For us as a 2-star it is what it is and the plus point being in a great locale for discovery and Food. Glad at least the staff can understand English.

Good location to all the local attractions within the area, especially all the lovely makan shops plentiful. The rooms are acceptable clean and comfy. The staff also very friendly and helpful. Only set back, can be noisy as the hotel located just next to the busy streets...
