staff not smile upon checkin. all i see at the front desk is a lot of new faces. wonder where is the old staff gone. mas, sharul, laura... used to be a great hotel before but now the services is not up to four stars. not sure under the same management or not. rooms' deco was ok but it's getting old. breakfas was meh. the only thing was good that it was near ipoh parade.
Local food night street nearby. Walking distance to city. Breakfast not much choices. Antique room with old facilities and no bathtub in deluxe room. Kids swimming pool under maintenance. Adult pool not so clean.
Our first trip to Ipoh and see the attraction in this town. The hotel is ageing but still presentable. Almost good location where you can find good food nearby the hotel. Parking is inside the hotel building but may be challenging if there is event at the hotel. The room is nicely furnished with wooden furniture however the one in my room needs maintenance. The wooden floor is classic and all the basic amenities you can find in a hotel is there. We got the room with breakfast and the food selection is reasonably good. There is variety for you to choose from local to western. They may not be fantastic but good enough to fill the stomach. Overall, it is value for money.
The hotel is old, facilities are old. Need renovation. Building is one part, the main part staff are not friendly or have any hospitality except Lalitha reservation, the housekeeping lady and the spa attendants.
