Travelodge debuts in Ipoh in January 2020 as the city’s first internationally-branded hotel, with more than 250 newly refurbished guestrooms in a fantastic location that offers comfort, convenience and connectivity for our guests. Just 10 minutes by car from the airport, Travelodge Ipoh is in an ideal location that caters to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel is in close proximity to the business district and well-known historical, cultural and culinary attractions, yet it’s far enough away from the city-centre bustle to offer a sense of relaxation and serenity. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and I would say there's nothing to shout about it. Check in took quite a while as the staff who first attended to us was fumbling about and didn't seem to know what to do until another took over. The rooms are very basic with no wardrobes and the bathrooms have no place to put our toiletries, etc. The internal doors for our connecting rooms could only be kept ajar by using the standing lamps as the doors have no handles and once closed were impossible to open again. There were hardly any waiting staff in the restaurant even for breakfasts, guests had to cook their own soup noodles and the congee was disgustingly cold. The only good item was the nasi lemak. The hotel environment seemed cold and impersonal. Neither the general manager nor senior staff were seen moving around to interact with guests. I can only surmise that the hotel functions on minimum staff numbers. The last negative point was the staff on duty at the front office threatened to call security when we refused to hand over our key cards on checkout. In all the very many hotels we've stayed at in North America, Europe and Asia we've never been in the habit of handing back our key cards and not a single hotel had issue with that. Her threat had really rubbed us up the wrong way. What a farewell and parting gesture! I hope senior management would take on board my feedback, implement positive changes and improve on the vibe of the hotel. This would definitely be my first and last stay at this hotel as there are much better hotels in Ipoh!

Travelodge Ipoh is a new hotel, refurbished from an old hotel. And it was a good work done. Everything were splendid, nothing to indicate it is from an old establishment. It is located within city limit, but not actually a working distance from anything of attractions. There is parking place at the basement, complimentary for guests. The lobby was spacious, with few decoration but it does look nice and grand. My check in was really pleasant & quick (make my booking thru Booking.com. The official travelodge website was rather less user friendly to make a booking, in my opinion) The room was huge (mine was family Quadruple), though stated for 4, I guess it will easily accomodate more, with 2 queen bed, there also a ‘cleopatra lounge sofa’ can be use as a bed for a child. Well equipped to make one stay pleasant. All drink & snack in the room was complimentary (got 4 cans of soft drink, 4 small drinking water, 3 pack of snacks - not bad👍) The breakfast, nothing to shout for, just standard hotel choices.

The room was huge, spacious and beautiful. It was clean and the staff were always very polite and welcoming. The view from the room was amazing, we were very glad to had avoided their peak period/school holidays. We really appreciated the filtered water dispenser of every floor instead of wasting plastic by providing bottled water every day.

Overall everything looked ok, clean, strategic location, acceptable breakfast buffet choice, Ordered Room service were good too, stayed in 2 nights 2 connecting rooms. Everything seem fine and i almost rate 5 stars for all. However, i discovered flea bites after my stay!! , on the second night i accidentally fall asleep on the red chair for couple of hours and end up with flea bites on my body as shown in pictures below, Bad experience as i have to suffer from itching for coming days ☹️ Please deep clean your room especially the bed and the red chair at room 331 and 332 …

I and my family was extremely disappointed with Travelodge Ipoh. We have arrived early at Ipoh and we decided to paid an extra dollar for an early check in . However, when we arrived at the hotel after breakfast . We was greeted by the sounds of construction and loud drilling noises echoing throughout our room. It felt like we had stepped into a construction site rather than a place of rest . We expected a room for a peaceful sleep but it turned out to be quite the opposite due to ongoing renovation noise that was not adequately communicated to guests.I have called the hotel operator to inquire about the noise and was met with indifference from the staff. I have explained that we arrived early and we need some sleep. The staff told me that they have instructed the worker to stop. We waited for half an hour but the drilling was still on going . I had specifically chosen this hotel for its reputation. Had I known about the extensive renovations, I would have certainly chosen a different establishment or adjusted my expectations accordingly. The lack of consideration for the guests' comfort , the way the hotel staff handle the complaint and the failure to give the guest renovation notice is extremely disappointing. I have been working for hotel service industry for 10 yrs, and this experienced saddened me. This is not the way how to wow your guest.

Nice hotel with delightful decor. The room and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. Dispenser with filtered water and hot water is available on every floor. This is a great service. The only feedback I have is the lighting. It is all warm lights which made reading or packing quite challenging. Hotel is just 10min car ride from the airport. It is not within short walking distance to any malls, restaurants. But calling a Grab is easy and one can get a car within 5min. We only paid RM5 to nearby places like Ipoh Parade mall, Gerbang Malam, Lou Wang and RM10 grab ride to further places like the various Caves.

Stayed for two nights. Very spacious room. U need to bring ur own toothbrush n toothpaste. Breakfast was cold n almost done when we went for for the first day. The next day we went earlier n better. Seemed also depending on no. of guests as there was event the next day in hotel. Cleanliness OK with a bit stains in toilet. There's a big spider just above our bed side but u don't bother it it won't bother u. Free parking but u might have to fight with those who went for the gym just inside the hotel. Fancy cafe at lobby. We were on high floor, view was quite good. But my roommate said the sound of motor VROOM VROOM VROOM still made him feel like he's sleeping on the street.

The first impression is not very good when my FIL need to use stairs from basement parking to lobby. But then a very nice receptionist is welcoming us for c/in process change the whole perceptive of the hotels. She is very nice and the hospitality is very good. The room is massive with nice Ipoh Concubine Road picture. The daybed is nice and comfy. Shampoo, soap and all other amenities is really good. Little disappointed with the TV channel because all the vision four channel is not working. When complaints to reception (bob cut hair) about it, she like blur and doing nothing about it. I put ‘clean my room’ signage on door from 12pm until 2.30pm but no HK maid come and clean the room. There is no bellman available in that hotel, so please help yourself with all the excess luggage.
