We were initially given a room adjoining another room. The insulation between the rooms was so poor, we could hear nearly everything in the next room (e.g. talking, sneezing). On top of that, the doors to all rooms would slam shut very loudly, meaning you could hear whenever other patrons were going in and out of their rooms, at all times of the day and night.

We asked to be moved to a room which didn't adjoin another room, which at least fixed part of the noise issue.

We also had issues with the safe and internet, which staff were prompt to respond to.

Their laundry service was one of the cheaper ones we encountered on this trip. We were told we had to drop laundry off at the little store on the ground floor, though they delivered the clean laundry to the room on the same day.

The night time view from the bar/pool on the top floor is wonderful, though I believe that you don't have to be a hotel patron to visit.

The breakfast buffet was decent, though not as extensive as what you might find in other hotels for the same price.

Location was not bad. There is a small shopping centre adjacent to the hotel, and lots of restaurants and food stores nearby.

No surprises here. Stock standard 4 star accommodation and service levels. A slight cut above the rest by Malaysian standard.
Bathrooms come with a very large shower recess and big bathtub, sure to keep your wife happy.
The pillows sat quite high and were quite hard which provides me with the perfect Segway to mention Rajan. He runs the front desk operations and nothing was too much trouble for him. From arranging softer pillows, offering local advice on restaurants and building a rapport with my 5 year old.

The only suggested areas of improvement I can suggest would be a wider variety of healthy options at the breakfast buffet along with a more attentive level of F&B service at the pool deck. Otherwise, the quality of food, particularly room service was of high standard.

The location is great. Everything is within MYR 15 taxi ride away, all arranged by the concierge. The direct connection to Ipoh Parade shopping mall offers plenty to do on rainy days such as the bowling alley and movie theatre.

If you are looking for something centrally located in Ipoh as opposed to the higher end accommodation options further out of town, then this place is weilly for you !!

Stayed at this hotel for a daytrip and got a reasonable price as it was a post MCO promotion. Booked a Superior King room but I was given an upgrade to a Telegraph Cosy Room which is on the 2nd highest floor (12th floor) of the building and I am appreciative of the nice gesture. Also, I was able to check in earlier. However guests should not expect this too often. Free covered parking is also provided on the 4th floor. However first timers need to take extra care as the entrance road to the parking lot is rather tight and has 2-way traffic.

Room was clean and the bed is rather comfortable. The bathroom comes with a modern bathtub and a separate shower. The separate shower is important to me as I feel it is much safer compared to the combined shower/bathtub option found in some hotels. The bathroom amenities are by Culti and I was able to obtain some bath salts upon request.

From the 12th floor, I would say the view from my room is rather decent as I can see that some of the lower floors would be looking out directly towards the rooftop of the adjacent shopping mall. On the other hand, Ipoh doesn't actually have an excellent panoramic view so you would not be missing too much either.

Hotel is conveniently located in the town centre and places like the concubine lane, old town are a short drive away. Tong Sui street and some bubble tea shops are at a walkable distance. Additionally, Ipoh Parade is located just next to the hotel and you would be able to get groceries or other items from Jaya Grocer.

Things to improve, I hope that Weil Hotel would allow guests to cast movies from their phone to the TV provided. Also, the hotel should also inform guests ahead that facilities such as the gym, swimming pool and club floor lounge is not available currently.

Otherwise, an overall pleasant stay at Weil Hotel and would definitely return.

Truly enjoyed my stay at Weil Hotel. To start off, the location is ideal because its near all the tourist spots which made traveling by Grab super convenient! Loved the aesthetics as soon as I walked in, the room was nice, clean and spacious & had a lovely bathroom (loved the bathtub!). The infinity pool was my favourite part of the whole experience as the view was gorgeous and the entire space was well maintained. I would highly recommend the Chinese restaurant, Yuk Sou Hin as the food was delicious and at a reasonable price range. Would definitely stay there again if I’m in Ipoh! 🙂

The architectural & interior design of WEIL hotel is one of the best in Perak, or even in Malaysia. The location is perfectly at the center of Ipoh with tons of eateries nearby & also connecting shopping mall (with Jaya Grocer), very convenient. The hotel Chinese restaurant Yuk SouHin is impressive, the smoked duck is one of the best I’ve tasted & the price is very affordable for such fine dining. Kudos to the chef! The hotel room design is elegant & beyond par in terms of layout & material selection. The wooden texture & ambient lighting is calming. Not to mention the peaceful mountain view outside the window.

However, for room #710 that I stayed some improvements are required:
1) Some of the wooden blinds are peeling off & one is even broken, which should be replaced as part of maintenance.
2) Previous guest left some dirts on the toilet wall (nose debris) & it is not cleaned by housekeeping. It's an uncomfortable experience to see it whenever i used the toilet bowl as facing it in front of me.
3) The light of the golden groove beside toilet phone is missing.

Overall, an excellent hotel and really worth the price. Will definitely come back for the relaxing bath tub and smoked duck. (End)

So this is my first stay here. I'm not a big complainer mostly but I feel that since they call themselves a 4.5 star hotel, they should definately be better. Firstly, check your billing. To make a booking they as usual, your card is authorised, which is fine. Then when I checked in, they recharged the whole amount again saying that the previously charged amount will be cancelled and reflected after 7 days? Now, I find this weird. Usually, a hotel would just topup the balance amount and charge it once upon check out or when checking in. Anyways, check it. The rooms are spacious and the bed is good, bathroom is nicely designed but some rooms have this folding type door which seems a bit unstable, be careful if you have kids. My bath had a leak which made the room carpet wet on the other side of the glass. But they were nice enough to give me a new room. If you're driving, try park at level 4, because level 5 is really poorly lit. Rather spooky at night. If your parking card gets rejected at the hotel parking zone, put it in and out a few times. I called for help and it took 10mins for help to arrive. Eventually it was sorted. I find the room comfortable, good amenities, each room has an iron, complimentary coffee stuff etc. The bath has good supplies, with good quality soap and stuff. Overall pretty good hotel. Now if they could just improve on the finer details. Staff strength is also insufficient mostly, more porters would be good, I had to unload my luggage myself at the lobby, plenty of trolleys but nobody to help, upon check in, it took a good 20mins for bags to reach the room. Housekeeping is a bit slow but it gets there. So for Ipoh, it ain't bad. But don't we all aim to be better? We should hope so.

PROS:-

Location near center of town
Connected to a shopping complex which is very handy
Pillows and beds are comfortable
Bath shower gel & shampoo provided was really good quality
Filtered water bottle which are refillable with the filtered water tap is nice but I’m unsure about the quality and cleanliness of the water and would advise to boil them before drinking.

CONS:-

Check in process is a little slow. With 5 rooms booked only managed to get two rooms before 3 pm and the rest only after 3 pm.
Extra towels requested are chargeable at RM5 each however on check out they waived the charges.
Buffet breakfast was good but could have been better
While it is generally clean it could use a little improvement
Hair dryer quality was truly horrible.
Overall service quality needs improving.
The built in safe does not work well.
WiFi quality and strength is atrocious
Pool safety and proper attire guidelines should be monitored. Pool towel was not readily available and had to be requested. Pool cleanliness was also very bad. Needs to be looked into

This hotel is relatively new and well maintained so it's clean and beautiful. It's connected to the Ipoh Parade and shopping is very convenient. The reception is efficient and check-in is just a breeze. The room is large and we requested for an extra bed. As we entered the room, there were no bath towels provided. When the extra bed arrived, the house keeper brought in one towel for the third person. So we called up the house keeping for two more towels. When the house keeper sent the towels, he peeped into the room and saw the single towel on the extra bed. He pointed out rather rudely that we already had towels in the room. He made me feel that I was trying to ask for more than I deserved. Very unhappy encounter

The hotel from first impression upon arrival looks very chic and gave me a welcoming feel and the staff of the hotel were courteous and friendly and are well versed in carrying out of their work. What was disappointing was the fact that my room (9 level). The air conditioning was almost non existence and in fact I virtually had to keep my room key holder fixed in the key holder so that i can be more comfortable upon my return from our sight-seeing as it was taking an aggravatingly long time to get chill even though the thermostat shows 19DegC, but i am quite sure it was not that and more like 28DegC or more. Another discomfort that i realised is that the sound-proofing of the room does not really seems to be too good as i can hear the sound of convulsion from a fellow guest from another room (ps: there was a wedding on the 22nd Feb and i can understand that being a joyous occasion and t would be excusable to drink one too many) But nevertheless it is still quite repulsive to hear a person convulsing in the middle of the night at 3a,m, But commendations have to be given for the tidiness and cleanliness of the rooms were immaculate and apart from the above 2 flaws i had a wonderful stay in WEIL HOTEL and definitely Ipoh as a place.

Had a two night stay here, with very slow check in on arrival. We booked a king room which was adequate but on the small side. As for the in room facilities the safe wasn't working, it had batteries missing which we reported to the Concierge who delivered our luggage he said he'd report it but nothing happened hence no safe for our valuables during our stay. There was no housekeeping available and if you required anything then you had to ask, the reason being was due to the MCO! The pool area was lovely, very peaceful and relaxing with nice city views. One our first night we went back up to the pool area to get a drink only to be told the bar was closing at 7pm again the reason being "due to the MCO"....
We then ventured to reception to ask where we could get a drink, they then tried to direct us out of the hotel to elsewhere. There was nowhere to get a drink in the hotel after 7pm!! This was shocking and I feel that the hotel is now using the MCO to offer very limited facilities in the hotel, staff seemed to be thin on the ground and I think the hotel is being run on a shoestring just now. You need to offer premium service when charging premium rates for a stay, and I think they're substandard.
