Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Good if you're looking for something clean & convenient plac. Cheap compared to other hotels in the area. 2 mentionable con's would be the parking (if the parking is full, you need to walk down the street to an open car park area) and the breakfast. It's a short 5-10 mins walk from the famous kong heng kopitiam area so i do not recommend paying for breakfast at the hotel (the spread and taste isn't good either). The room's are clean and spacious (this is based on the family room with 2 queen beds) though the noise of loud vehicles from the road & people walking on the corridors can be heard. Water bottles, a kettle & coffee/tea is provided. Extra towels are chargeable.

If you spend most of the time outside, maybe this hotel is good for you. My main concern was cleanliness especially the beddings. I had trouble sleeping at night. Pillows had yellowish stains, beddings feel a little dusty and I noticed an insect itchy bite in my upper leg during my first morning. Room smelled musty too. Toilet had some unpleasant smell too.
They will provide body soap and wash, tissue, coffee, 2 mineral waters, 1 mask per day. Dental kit, slippers will have to be requested. No fridge inside the room though there is a cold/hot water dispenser in each floor. There is 7 eleven in the lobby.
The biggest positive for me was the receptionists. They speak good English and really tried to help you with places to visit and restaurants to try. They are very friendly and welcoming too. They are the reason for my high rating. Plus the hotel location was really quiet and just walking distance to the town center, or just a short grab ride to ipoh parade or gunang lang park.
I would still recommend them to friends. Thank you for being one of the factors that my first solo trip was a success.

Cititel Express Ipoh has never disappointed me as an ACCOMMODATIVE hotel in Ipoh, Malaysia in terms of services, cleanliness and location, if someone is with a budget that would be the value for money so consider it.
Booking through the official website, and to highlight it, I get an email reminder three days before my arrival in which means it values all big and small patronisation with open arms.
On that note, I wish everyone to have an enjoyable hospitality.

Bought through Agoda , there’s 7 of us , I booked 2 double room and 1 triple room for Saturday night at Ipoh town . Around rm50 per person per night without breakfast as there’s so many good restaurants nearby to have breakfast, 7 eleven next door , hotel is clean and comfortable, just the entrance where you need to drop off your luggage and family members is just a dangerous spot . Parking can be full and there’s another option for you to park somewhere ,hotel guard will guide you . At night I could hear some disco music blasting even I stayed at 11th floor ..

the overal hotel is nice. the place is clean, the room is clean and comfy, the tv and the wifi works good but they only give you limited hours for the wifi password. the receptionist (chinese girl) is nice, other than her was giving me the 😶 face. it is located near the iconic places in Ipoh so the location is good. the only bad thing and I mean BAD was, in the morning they give you KFC for breakfast. yes it was rice and big fried chicken like whaaaaat???? I bought the room with breakfast which cost RM 35 than the one with no breakfast just for that? I was hoping to get a buffet but they told me if the guess of the hotel are less than 20 people then they wont give you buffet. Better they give me back my money and I could buy many delicious cheap food around. so dont buy room with breakfast, it's not worth the price. and to the management who read this please if you want to buy breakfast for paying customer, dont give them rice and big chunk of chicken, at least give them cakes or fruits or any other light food for breakfast. thank you.

We were welcomed with poor service from the beginning time with checking in till we left. We had booked 3 rooms for one nite, fortunately, otherwise our stay would have been more than unhappy. Following points leading to very bad review: Receptionist was not knowledgeable with guests communication of insisting rooms on the same floor and the request was done from the time the reservation was booked online. Took a long time before we got checked in. All 3 Rooms were uncomfortable with uncleaned bathroom floors, and one of the room on the sixth floor was even moldy on the walls. Bed linens felt sticky....For 3 persons bedroom, when extra pillow was requested we were told there is NO extra pillow allowed!! Toiletries were provided at minimum of a tiny piece of soap. Only one electrical outlet in room, hot water dispenser in the alleyway of rooms, why not advertise CITIDEL as a hostel & NOT hotel??!!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked for 4 nights and extended our stay for another 3 nights, making a total of 7 nights. The hotel is very convenient to all facilities. The guy doing the housekeeping is very thorough with his works making sure that our stay was comfortable, safe and clean. The hotel is a walking distance from the Ipoh Railway Station and one could easily identify its location as it is a high rise building. It is located nearby many places of interest. There are also many eateries nearby and a 7 Eleven store is just next door.
The look of the lobby is inviting, spacious enough to relax awhile. The room is also spacious, enough space to pray for Muslims.
The room has a window with the view of the city. One can also make coffee as the water dispenser for cold and hot water is available.

Strategic location, walking distance to Concubine Lane, and many eateries. There's a 7-11 next door. Drinking water dispenser is available in the corridor - easy to get drinking water whether hot, warm or cold. Room is clean.

Hi,
As i did not travel from the train station i am not able to help you. But Grab is very accessible in Ipoh. This hotel is located at the Old Town hence very convenient and close to amenities.
There are more places to choose from in the Ipoh area.
