We just had a stay at this place yesterday and it was a TERRIBLE place to stay! We booked the so called "chalet" for RM500/night (which is overpriced). Here are the reasons why the place is terrible: 1. The chalet is not built as the ones you'll find at resorts. It's more of a local slum (rumah setinggan/kongsi) type. 2. Very2 small rooms. To accommodate the respective number of people indicated, you'd have to be a midget (no offence). 3. This is the worst: they cut the electricity purposely for few hours(perhaps to save on bill) at night. We had a baby with us and it was a hard time for him. 4. One of the bathroom (for the bigger room) doesn't have a ceiling. Terrible situation for us, as our ladies stayed on this room. They had to make do with the toilet for bath. Overall, the stay at this place almost ruined our entire holiday.

We stayed at Awanastay for 2 nights while in Ipoh. The place is clean and neat. A deposit of 200 ringgit is required as well but due to unforeseen circumstances we did not bring enough cash and he let it be which was greatly appreciated. The owner is really friendly and offers us tea whenever we have a chat with him. He also brought us to cycle around Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village and let us ride the bicycles at his friend's shop for free as they had a couple available. It was really sweet and nice of him to do that when he did not need to. Would definitely visit again if in Ipoh area.
