The design of Container Hotel Ipoh is inspired by the golden era of Ipoh, known historically for tin-mining activities in the 1920s to 1930s. The design draws the inspiration from industrial retro style, transforming the heritage building into compact modernised capsules by infusing smart design in the use of space, and functional elements to create a unique lodging experience for the adventurers as they explore the charm of the city. Overall Advantages 1) Near to train station 2) Walking distance to food stall and convenience shop 3) Good design and concept for the pod and bathroom Disadvantages 1) No friendly atmosphere to mix with other Pod's dweller 2) Surrounding area very quiet at night 3) High deposit require prior to check into pod (RM50) 4) WIFI is not is good condition and not working on the day check-in Lounge Area Advantages 1) Just a few chairs and a table with some magazines. 2) You can use the slider to slide down from 1st floor to reception area. Disadvantages 1) No TV at the lounge which is next to reception. 2) No music provide at the lounge area. Reception Advantages 1) Luggage can put in storage if arrive early 2) Friendly, helpful and courteous staff at reception. 3) Reception staff that show you around the room, bathroom and surrounding place within the container. 4) 24x7 reception Disadvantages 1) No breakfast 2) Reception staff did not show you around your room, bathroom and surrounding place within the container. Rooms (Pod) Advantages 1) Strong WIFI signal in the pod but not all site is accessible. 2) A light switch for reading purposes 3) A slide table for laptop or for writing purposes. 4) An AC/DC socket provided to charge your electrical equipment. 5) Comfy bed with big mattresses and 2 pillows 6) Toiletries recycle bag included a towel (to return upon checkout), a bottle of mineral water, toothpaste and toothbrush provided. 7) Blackout curtain roller for privacy provided in each pod. 8) Strong and cool AC in the room. 9) Large storage space at the bottom of the bed. Disadvantages 1) Musky smell in a container room that consists of more than 12 pods 2) No enforcement to remove shoes and place in the shoes locker. 3) No air freshner provided in the room 4) Spotted hair on the bed and pillow 5) Dusty due to non carpet floor and seems the floor didn't mop for a long time 6) Slipper is not provide to the guest…

they refused to issue tax invoice although we request for it. TOO NOISY from the reception(staff talking) even after midnight.... Staffs not friendly, not welling to help... Toilet maintenance problem.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It's conveniently located in the heart of the old town, and within walking distance to the new town. Some of the most instagrammable alleys and famous food stalls are a stone's throw away (literally). It's very clean, comfortable, and value for money.

It is clean, nice and comfortable place to stay, the bed is soft. Washroom is separate , male and female, and basic amenities were there. Many cafe are around the corner, however most of them closed after evening. Overall, it is worth for the price!

The hotel is strategic located center of town, nearby most of the attraction points. Modern decoration & value for money. However, no parking is provided. It's good for solo traveller or you are using public transport

1) Super affordable With the amount of less than RM 80 per night, I got a quality mattress and duvets 2) Friendly and Welcoming Staff They are all so kind and very helpful. Very thoughtful also 3) Cool interior and exciting location If you love to see heritage building, I strongly suggest you to stay here. At the back of the hotel, there is an art display about The Late Yasmin Ahmad. Very inspiring

I stayed only one night here but overall is very good!! Good facilities, shower perfectly working, bed is very clean, comfortable and it is a affordable prices. Very suitable for those who travel light and backpackers. And the location is very strategic. You can either walk or easily take uber/grab/taxi.

Room is quiet. Amenities are ok. There is one nice slide to play with. Staff also helpful. Plan B is just next door. Walking distant to Ipoh KTM Station. To withdraw some monies, major banks are nearby. Easy to get Uber and/or Grab for going places.

I was really impressed. The decor was modern and it is well kept and clean. The beds were so comfortable and the toilets were spacious. The toilets are equipped with shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer. They provide bottled water and even a water dispenser to refill. The lockers are spacious and located below the lower bunk bed. There are lots of great cafes within walking distance.

I've stayed at container hotel in KL and capsule in KLIA2. Capsule is the worst. This one in Ipoh is so far the best. Love the thoughtful design as the shared bathroom has their own sink and mirror,wc and shower at each cubicle. They also have this cool slide where u can slide down from first floor to ground floor. Adding some fun to this industrial looked space. Our dorm is a mixed double dorm. With a pleasant view to overlook the main road. It is quite challenging when it comes to packing. As it might easily disturb the other guests. Not ideal if u are carrying big luggage as u have to climb the stairs from ground floor. And their luggage locker can only fit one cabin size luggage. Good receptionist service as they clearly explain everything u need to know before enter to the dorms located at first floor. Overall a pleasant stay. …
