Horrible service, worst than bnb apartments. To top it off, there was no hot water on 16 August and we informed the staff. When we came back past midnight, it was not fixed at all and had to shower cold during late night. No housekeeping services, extra amenities have to be paid. Worst experience ever.

This is actually a nice place to stay whenever you go to Penang. Easy to find foods at night and near convenience store, and it's just opposite Penang Girls High School. It's near Penang Adventist Hospital and also Indonesian Embassy. Overall, nice!!

The Tropics Eight Suite room was very spacy and clean enough. My family liked it very much. They provided with laundry and can refilled the water by ourself. But the place quite far. Overall was very good... Maybe next visit Penang will consider to stay at Tropics Eight Suite again...

Best value accommodation during our stay at Pinang. It's a kind of service apartment, with a very spacious room. It is beyond what I expected. Ideal for those who need to stay with friends and family. Just a minute away from street hawkers at the corner which open till late at night. Everything is just exactly as in the photos. They provide water dispensers outside the room ( i believe every floor has one). It would be better if the shower has hotter water.

This small hotel, tucked away in Pulau Tikus, Penang is a gem! I was lucky to be upgraded, so I had a one-bedroom apartment - complete with kitchenette, fridge/freezer, and lots and lots of space. Parking is not a problem, and I love the fact that it is quite central without becoming embroiled in endless traffic jams. Lots of shops around to get whatever you need. Will definitely stay here again next time I am in Penang.

We stayed at a studio suite in tropics eight (room 805) for a week during our visit to Penang. The hotel staff are lovely and very accomodating, our room had a fantastic binder with all the information we needed to know about tropics eight, Penang tourist destinations and bus routes to get to them. Our studio was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The sofa was comfortable as well, and the location of tropics eight was perfect for us to walk to nearby places. The laundry room was very useful, but we unfortunately had to wait a while to do our laundry as only one machine was functioning during our stay. I only wish our room had a window instead of a small balcony so that we could have enjoyed the view all day long. Overall, it was a great stay. I would no doubt return to tropics eight again.

Checked in at 3.30 pm to an uncleaned suite. All bins were fulled with rubbish. Bed was not made and towels were everywhere. Basically the room was not cleaned after the last customer checked out. Called receptionist to assist, he said to wait for housecleaning to clean the room first. Obviously i couldnt wait coz i checked in on time, not earlier. They should have prepared everything before hand. And with a 4mo baby, am definitely have no time to wait for the room to be cleaned. Receptionist was also reluctant when i requested to change room as he said all rooms of same rate were full 🙄. Only after i started to marah marah then only they gave us a new room. Basically just dont go here.

What you see is not exactly what you get. Booked for a day. We booked for a room for 3, but the cups, coffee and tea provided were only for 2. Room we got was facing the cemetery, which wasn't an issue because we only realised it the next morning. The real issue was the noise, as we are facing the main road, all cars driving by could be heard clearly, even up to 3am/4am. Sleeping quality was bad. Some wood panel in the room were falling off. In the bathroom, the hose of the bidet was leaking and thus non easy to use. The unit is spacious, the bathroom is spacious, everything is fine at a glace, but not really if you look at the closer.

The front counter staff was extremely rude and allowed other patrons to cut the queue and raises her voice when voiced my complaint about this lapse in service. the staff in question was on duty at 1620 hours. Ruined my entire check in experience. Perhaps should be reduced to a 1 star establishment for this lapse. Havent seen the room yet and extremely displeased.

Stayed here recently, family booked it. I would say our 8th floor room DIDN’T FEEL GREAT. Colour scheme too dark and gloomy for a room that faces cemetery, bathroom mirror lighting position makes me feel like I’m living in a ghost/horror movie every time i look at the mirror (as lighting was from below). Room also feels a bit spooky as the shower lights flickers only when showering, midnight can hear “someone” playing with aircond and switches and furnitures moving in the living room. Extremely bad sound proofing too. Carpark extremely tight, very troublesome to access - must check in first to get the access card, B2 lift area is not for the claustrophobic. Reception couldn’t be bothered to help with our luggages. Thankfully only 1 night and we left immediately before sunrise. There are better hotels in Penang. The spacious room couldn’t compensate to the bad feeling we had in this room.
