It is an apartment, huge one. There is fridge, stove, living room, and comfy rooms. There is no tv in the room, coz the tv is in the living room. But we have no problem since the tv channels are only showing locals channels. It took only 30min to/from airport. It is very near to the Gurney night market, near to the gurney plaza, it took 30min as well to Penang hill. As for the breakfast, they don’t serve it in buffet style. But the serve it on plate and it was always different on each day. First day they served mee hun Goreng and the second day they served egg sandwich. It was nice since I also not a heavy breakfast eater. I recommend this hotel...

The room has 2 big king size beds. Suitable for 4 of us. Has big TV, big kitchen with microwave, big refrigerator ( not mini refrigerator) and some simple cooking utensil. Big bathroom. Everything is just so spacious. Nearby, there is food hawker, 24 hours mini market, delicious bakery, easy to get bus / taxi / grab. Very convenient. I love this place.

Pros: 1. Large sized apartment. Good for a group of young ppl who want to party. 2. Courteous staff though lower your expectations on their willingness to help. 3. Good air conditioning. 4. Decent location. Cons: 1. Very thin walls. You can hear your neighbours even when they are having normal conversations. Or the guests above walking about at midnight. Not ok if you are a light sleeper/ annoyed by noise from neighbours/ upstairs. 2. Noisy water pipes. Just opening the tap will cause the walls to groan like some cows mating (really loud). 3. Cleanliness. Bathroom has a sewage smell even after cleaning. Suspect from the drainage. Towels are worn out. Torn even. Quite sexy if you are with your wife. Sheets are soft but I developed a rash and boils on my legs. Wear long pants & sleeves to sleep if possible. Do not rub your face on the pillows. Do not sleep on sofa. Itches. 4. Does NOT come as advertised. No stove. When we checked in there were 4 rock glasses for brushing teeth as the apartment is for 4 people. However after the 1st day, 2 glasses disappeared. When staff was contacted they claimed there is only max of 2 glasses per apartment and refused to provide 2 more stating they had ‘run out of glasses’. But the young guests partying next door seemed to have quite a few. Perhaps they brought their own, exact looking glasses. 5. Security. Door at times can be opened even without key card. Maybe it’s just my magnetic personality. I took a video but can’t upload here. Avoid leaving valuables. TL;DR - somewhat acceptable if you aren’t affected by sounds or expecting somewhere quiet. Acceptable if your skin isn’t sensitive to possibly unclean sheets. Also if you are not particular at all about helpful service from staff. I may come back here if this was the last accommodation available in the state and I had some life or death matter to settle, and only for 1 night max.…

Poor housekeeping and overall simplified set-up, including the cafe. You will likely find dirt, dust and unsightly filth, especially the pull-out bed in the living hall. Pictures and actual are a bit off. Those in pictures probably taken during opening stage. Over-priced considering what are the actuals.

my mom and i couldnt sleep for 2 night somehow we felt itch all over our body. Whether it is becase of the bed linen or the ambience of the room that wasnt totally cleaned.We asked to changed the entire bedsheet but still the same. And there was also unpleasant odour in the room

Last August we visited Penang for the first time. We chose to stay at Tropic 8 Suites, just a long from Gurney drive. The apartments are walking distance to Gurney Plaza/Gurney Paragon and a short Uber ride into Georgetown. The apartments themselves are well appointed, spacious and clean. The complex has a gym and laundry if you need either of those. Th apartments come equipped with the basics. If you have an extended stay you may need to buy a few smaller items. I think we had to buy a can opener, some tea spoons and a few tea towels. We enjoyed a very comfortable and pleasant 6 days in Penang and would certainly consider staying there again.

Nice and Clean. Staff are friendly. Recommend to stay with family. So far, my experience spending my time here has been really good. It will benefit with more variety of Television channels & programs for in room entertainment since, the option are very limited right now. This place also got great service too. :)

I really recommend this place for family trip or if you want spacey and comfortable room with reasonable price to spend time with a group of friends in Penang. The location is pretty strategic, it’s not far from Gurney Plaza & you’ll never need to worry about food, drinks & snacks because, along the blocks you’ll easily find food markets, cafes & convenience stores. So far, my experience spending my time here has been really good. It will benefit with more variety of Television channels & programs for in room entertainment since, the option are very limited right now. This place also got great service too. :)
