On arrival at 10am, I was advised of a 2 pm check in which was not disclosed on booking on line. Sited on a very busy Traffic Intersection, no soundproofing thus very noisy in room which also was full of cigarette smell which did not go away over the 3 days I way there. Same price as a 4 star, quiet, with pool the last two days of my stay but had to leave due to heavy Chinese Bookings, Not a problem here, too low a standare for the average Chinese, No Pool, only one English speaking TV station, 9 in total.
Penang sucks, too expensive Taxis are rip offs, I'm going back to Beautiful Thailand and lovely people.

A group of 6 stayed here for 1 night. Didn't get a very warm welcome, staff seemed unfriendly and were always rushed.
The actual rooms looked like they hadn't been updated in 30 odd years. The pictures were very deceiving. There was a very unpleasant odour coming from all 3 of the rooms we booked.
The wifi was practically non existent, it would connect but would not let me use the internet.
We were very careful to lock all our bags as we saw housekeeping staff entering our room as soon as we would leave, yet they would not have cleaned anything.
Overall not a very pleasant stay.

It's been around for many years now and you can't miss how dare everything looks from the moment you enter, but it delivers great value for money. If you're not wanting to stay near the main attractions in Penang, or if you have your own transport, then this world be an ideal place to stay on the cheap.

I stayed at Waterfall Hotel, Penang recently with my parents for a night. We were there for pilgrimage trip hence we decided to stay a hotel near to temples and this was a perfect place.

The room is spacious, comfy and clean. It has two double beds as we stayed in a Superior Family Room. The room consists of all the basic facilities such as Hot Shower, Toiletries, Towels, Hairdryer, Fridge and Electric Kettle.

Near by there is an Indian Restaurant which offer both Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian Food. There are also other cafes.

Overall, it was good.

Was a last minute booking and when we arrived the Receptionist ( Chinese ) was not so helpful and she has no hospitality attitude at all, The room smells, The Light was not working the bed was hard the A/Cond goes hey wire by itself, The up-keeping of the place interior was not that good need a small refurbishing. Only one thing made my stay ok which was the overnight receptionist ( Indian Gal ) was very helpful as she even pass me the mosquito spray as I went down complaining about mosquito in room. Will not use this hotel near the future unless desperate.

Had the privilege of staying at this hotel the second time. May last visit was a year ago and the room was run down then. Expected the same but I was wrong. The rooms have been upgraded and certainly worth the stay. The hotel being close to the Waterfalls Murugan Temple ( Hindu GOD) was certainly a plus. It has a guarded carpark and ensures the safety of your vehicle. The team are friendly and accommodate to your queries. Syabas.

I stayed at this hotel just last week and it was a nightmare. I was travelling with a big group and we had reached the hotel early in the morning. they were kind enuf to give us 2 rooms to refreshen up. One of these rooms was my actual room. First, the flush in the toilet didn't work. It cudn't even flush down 2 strips of toilet papers! reception sent 2 jokers up to settle the choke. One of them actually said " You people must have put something into the toilet bowl. that's why it won't flush." Like hello! Toilet bowl!!!! so only liquids allowed??? then came the nasty experience. After i had showered, i realised that there was a window in the toilet that was linked to some other room!!!! I could hear noises coming from the window! Angrily, i marched to the reception to ask what that room was and they brushed me off by saying there was nothing at the window! i raised my voice to ask if the noises i was hearing was my imagination. only then, the lady at the counter said it was actually a Housekeeping Room!!!! I asked for a change of room and she curtly told me that it will not make a difference. So i asked if all the toilets in the hotel were linked to some sort of a working room. She had no answer to that question but told me not to worry as all their housekeeping staff were females! what kind of a reply is that??? She made it worst by telling me that housekeeping only worked from 8 to 5pm!! Aft i threatened to check out, she told me that she wud change my rooms IF the noise persisted aft 5pm as they were fully booked for the night and HAD NO rooms left...like am i supposed to hold my pee and showering from 8am to 5pm during my stay there??? i walked away and just then, there was a walk-in customer who enquired for a room and she clearly said she had NO RESERVATION. Guess what? Reception Lady said they had a deluxe room AVAILABLE. Eventually I did get a change of room, probably coz Reception Lady knew my travel leader very well. But i do think she complained abt me to him. So, unless your last choice of accommodation is the streets of penang, STAY AWAY from this hotel where Housekeeping thinks it's a sin to flush anything but urine down the toilet bowl and reception thinks your privacy isn't a big deal.

We booked this hotel online as it was close to where we needed to be. Big mistake, we arrived early, and went to reception, not to check I might add, just to use the toilet....no you can't use the toilet, it's not a public toilet, you have not checked in yet. Can we check in then? No too early, so can we use the toilet (desperate by now), no came the reply again. Ok so we walked out found a local cafe and used their facilities no problem. So when we went back, we checked in, we got two single beds, paid extra for double, the lady on reception just ignored everything we said. She even shouted at another guest who walked over to use the lift, shouting...where are you going the lift does not work, use the stairs.....and this was our welcome. The bedroom was small and as I said two single beds, a TV that had no sound, there was no food in the hotel at all, one sachet of 3 in 1 coffee, yuechhhh! No hot water, the air on was ice cold and was locks behind a cupboard and could not be adjusted. When we awoke the next day, there is no breakfast offer, no food at all in fact, all you could get was pushed into some crappy restaurant next door who served lunch......? I mean ok, but spaghetti bolognese for breakfast, no thanks. The recpetion lady, the older of the two, was ignorant and very very rude, in fact the only helpful person there was a guy called Raj, who helped us with our printing and some drinks to our room. Apart from that forget this place t sucks.

Pictures shows renovated rooms on the website and also banner on the lobby but as we went to check out the room, it was old and nothing like what the pictures looks like. We decided to cancel the booking and spoke to the front desk Indian lady, she wasn't very pleasant and was very abrupt and told us we cannot cancel. My wife rang up Agoda customer service and they grant the cancellation. Bye bye to the Hotel Waterfall, I'm sorry but I don't recommend it to anyone, apart from it being a bit far from the happening places and the city centre.
