As we were on a backpack trip, this recently renovated hotel was great to stay for a couple of days. The owner of the hotel, also displayed at one of the pictures on this page, was very helpfull together with his staff.
Rooms were great too, clean, and as I said before, recently renovated. We had a great bed to sleep on and clean bathroom.
Definitely a good place to stay, also very near the city centre.

Stayed here in late August and found the place clean and good. Small room suitable for two, but the management has to look into certain TV programs that are not suitable for kids. Service was OK and location in town was good to move around by foot but had problems looking for parking bays in the day time. Lots of places to have meals. Staff were kind and helpful. Will be back here in the near future.

Second time at this place. Obvious renovation in 2014 results in clean rooms with air con and flat screen TVs if you you want. Ensuite.
Mattresses may be new but mine was not god quality and gave me a sore back so test first.
WiFi is free and reliable, pretty quick. Has a lot of Telco antennae on the roof if that's a problem for you. Maybe don't go for top floor.
Great location for Ferry, buses Indian Food and walking into old town for morning markets etc. Georgetown is not that big but a push bike for a few days at least is good.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Will stay again.

I knew when I booked this hotel , not to expect anything much . I was in for a surprise . The moment I walked in I was warmly greeted by the check in personal . I am sorry I keep forgetting to ask his name . A very fine looking gentleman . Check in was very fast and hassle free . Upon checking in the room , I was even more surprised to see the layout of the room and the position of the bed and bathroom . Very well placed . Room , clean and tidy . The life and pulse of Little India can be partially seen from my hotel room . I sighed a sense of relief knowing I made the correct choice in choosing this hotel . The whole of Little India and it's activities is right behind Broadway Budget Hotel . You can never go hungry . Being a Vegetarian , I found lots of restaurants serving vegetarian food . I have stayed in many a hotels . Ranging from budget s , hostels , anywhere between 3 to 5 stars . Broadway Budget Hotel takes the cake for me this trip . Thank you to Mr. Rahman for his patience in me . Kudos to all the other members and crew . Thank you for making my stay a truly memorable one . Wishing all of you more success in al that you are doing . - Mr. Yogesh Langkawi .

It is in the heart of Georgetown almost equidistant from both the bus terminals and the ferry terminals. You can expect consistency in customer service from all staff as I have enjoyed quality assistance from the staffs of all shifts. The facilities are worth the money and rooms are cleaned well everyday. Absence of lifts is the only substandard issue. If I am going to Penang again, Broadway is my only one choice.

was a really great place to stay!! it was so clean, we got new handtowls every day and new beddings. for that value, its really cheap, we paid 35 RM per person for a double room with air-con and own bathroom. the main host was very friendly, organized a personal sightseeing tour for us, gave us tips for attractions in town and made an effort to make our stay enjoyable! would stay again

We stayed in the hotel for a week. The place was a nice surprise for the price - good location, clean room and very very friendly receptionists. They helped and assisted us during this week. There is no elevator, which can be an issue for some people, but we were fine with it.

If you want to avoid the cheap dorms in George Town, finding a nice and not so expensive hotel is not so easy.
Very beautiful places..but for more than 200RM,,, So waliking around the city and after ckecking a couple of other places, I had the nice surprise to find this hotel in little India well located, close to the sea front .
The staff was amazingly friendly. Clean and well sized room with A/C and a clean bathroom. Very quiet place which I will go back to for sure during my next trip to Penang.

I came to Penang for five weeks just after Chinese New Year. The sign up process was a little awkward (depositing money in a hotel bank account around CNY can be a problem) so I went with trepidation. Well, it was totally unfounded. The room I was given was pristine clean, the bed was comfy, the ensuite bathroom equipped with everything I needed and lovely and clean too - all in all, with my long-stayer's rate, it turned out to be an awesome bargain for Malaysia.

More than all of that tho, was the peerless customer service from the guys running the place. They bent over backwards to be helpful and were just good fun folks to banter with during my month in town.

The location is superb too. The main road can be a bit noisy during festivals and the walls are a tad thin, but the team kept noisy guests controlled and if you're going to complain about fireworks at CNY in Penang then you probably shouldn't be there! Right opposite you have flower sellers, a Ganesh shrine and Chinese temple and the view from my window looked right out over the handsome mosque (which was not so near that it served as an overly early alarm clock).

In sum: a great budget option; super clean and friendly; smile-abundant and helpful staff; and oodles to see, do and eat on your doorstep. If I return to Penang I'll certainly be checking back in.
