Great location, close to Little India, the main bus route and other popular sights, had extremely friendly and helpful staff, and clean simple rooms. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re on a budget looking for a good quality place to stay in Georgetown

Our first trip to Penang, and the stay made terrible! Rooms are very compact! We requested extra bed so after that no space to walk inside the room! Very basic stay actually! Wifi speed was horrible. Please do select some other stay instead of regretting. Bed sheets, towels were of too bad quality! Think before you book this place !

I stayed 2 weeks here. I was pretty happy overall. The room comes with a window as do all 18 rooms in this hotel. And the room size was good at about 24 square metres. Positives: wifi worked very well and was reasonably fast at around 5Mbps. TV was flat screen and mounted on the wall, but as usual only boring local channels mainly. Bed was comfortable, with good clean and new linens. Aircon was split set Panasonic and worked very well. My room was out the back side of the hotel and so did not suffer any noise. The big plus here was that the water coming out of all the taps in the hotel was drinkable. I originally asked about a filtered water dispenser in the hotel and the receptionist told me that all water is filtered coming into the hotel. In fact I looked outside the window of the room and saw all of these filtration systems. Anyway I drank the water out of the tap here for two weeks with no issues. The cleaner would knock on the door around 2pm every day and give out a new towel and collect the trash. Negatives: There is no lift, so you have to climb a maximum of 3 levels if you are on the top floor. The desk in the room was tiny and I struggled to eat my lunch off it every day. Some extra table space would be good management if you are reading. Price: I originally booked through Booking.com at a rate of 80 Ringgits per night (single occupancy) including the 10 Ringgit tourist tax. When I went to extend they said that I could have the room for 70 Ringgits per night including the tax. That sounded like a good deal to me.

We had 2 nights here, it was 80 myr a night which was an ok price. It was clean, we had our own bathroom, a/c and a tv. The bed was fine, plenty of power points, great location with a view of the Chinese temple. We had a problem with the toilet continuing to fill up, which the staff who were all lovely tried to fix. We were offered another room but we were checking out next day so declined. The street is a little noisy so I was woken early by traffic but as a budget option this is fine.

We checked out one day early because we couldn't stand the rooms. They were worn down and bad. The bathroom door was falling apart and everything in the room was just old and bad. It was really bad stains on the bedlinen. We asked for new bedlinen and got new ones, but all of them was heavily stained. So I gave up and wrapped my shirt around the pillow and slept under my scarf. The only plus about the hotel is the staff.

The Broadway Budget hotel stands out for being very well-maintained and well - run. The building is obviously a bit dated, but our room was freshly painted, very clean and everything worked. There was a brand new electric shower in the bathroom, the airconditioning worked just fine and housekeeping came by every day to clean the room and supply us with clean towels. All rooms have windows, so you will not find yourself in an airless dark box as in so many places. The road is a bit noisy, but it's a great location right on the edge of Little India.

It's pretty basic. Located in the LIttle India area, the hotel offers the basic facilities that budget hotels do. The room was a bit cramped with minimal space to move about, but it was clean. The only thing working for this place is the location, nothing else. Staffs weren't very helpful, especially because they are not aware of their surroundings. They don't seem to be trained well.

Positives: -staff are very very friendly and polite -room spacious and clean - strong Wi-Fi -good shower pressure -booked onward travel (simple and cheaper than online) -always at least 1 member of staff at reception should you need anything -daily room servicing Negatives: - too much noise from the street, better soundproofing is needed -asked for extra pillows our first night but they forgot to bring them (sorted for second night) -pillows need replacing (very lumpy) Recommendation: could you provide free tea and coffee like most other hotels in Georgetown?
