I love the fact its an old chinese mansion. Its spacious with its own pool at the front porch area. The hall is big with few comfy sofa. The bed is comfy as well. Their locker is free to use and its outside the dorm, so you wont have to deal with someone rummaging through their stuff in middle of the night. I can park my motorbike inside the porch area, plus point for security right there. Friendly staff. Location nearby to many famous things to do in georgetwon. I have tried a few hostel in georgetown, this is the best thus far.

Never would I advice travelers to stay here. Dorm beds are cheap but you get what you pay for. Pub crawls noisy and expensive. Swimming pool dirty stinking smell ( hardly know if they change water). Full of unruly guest most screaming and yelling at the top of their voice. Staff unable to control guest when things get out of hand. Bunk beds noisy with wrappers and unable sleep. Just a creepy disgusting hotel i ever stayed i Asia.

The place was budget friendly and the people were very accommodating. I highly recommend the place for those people seeking a nice and comfortable place to stay around Penang at the same time within their budget. They offer water, coffee, tea, and wifi for free.

Checked in for 3 days, ended up staying two weeks. Fun place with a great staff that will get to know you, give you good info and take you out for a night on the town. Can have some drinks by the pool or a good night's sleep. Which ever you prefer.

It was a nice hostel with basic dorms. Hot water for the showers and the free breakfast was nice. Coffee and tea all day. The pool was clean and the free yoga was great, however the pool boy and the yoga instructor kept us up all night.

Sorry to leave a negative review. But I was not happy at all with my staying here (3 night in October). PROS: - The location is excellent. - (Most of) the staff is friendly. - Breakfast included. - Pub crawls (if you like them, not my thing when I backpack) - Common area. CONS: - Extremely cold rooms (and I am rarely cold). To the point of being uncomfortable. Especially for people who sleep at the bottom of the bunk beds. I slept very bad because of this. - Overall, full of annoying travellers. The kind of that likes to get smashed with alcohol at night. And that has no respect for people trying to sleep. People coming and going at night, shouting in the common area, slamming doors ... until late hours.

Literally the worst hostel in 8 years of traveling. Pool was green, bathrooms were disgusting(used condom and ball of hair in one stall for two days), bar was crap and so were the volunteers. People were drunk and passed out laying on chairs. My shoes were stolen and the owner literally did not care at all. Two other people things were stolen from in the two horrible days I was there. Breakfast was bread. There were apparently other options to add but no one there to make them. Place is disgusting, everything sucked.

Shower and toilets need to be refurbished ASAP. The place need some more deep cleaning as well as the swimming pool-the water was oily. Staff at the pool bar is nice and friendly, on the other hand at the reception they seem like they are doing you a favour. No gas cooker or microwave available for guests-just a fridge.
