This hotel is in the centre of everything, beautifully clean, staff friendly and very helpful. Only needed a Taxi to Penang Hill every other attraction is within walking distance including umbrella alley and the street art☺️. There are a wealth of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

We got a room on the highest floor and the view was panoramic overlooking the jetty. The room was spacious and clean. The water was safe to drink from the tap hence no bottles were given. Location was within distance of the jetty food court and also Market street where there is plenty more Indian food and shopping options. Staff were very friendly when I was checking in late. Very comfortable stay and would return.

Hotel SAVV is a fairly new Hotel in Georgetown and is very much a hidden gem located by the Clan Jetties and close to the Jetty bus and ferry terminal. The hotel is located within the UNESCO world heritage zone of historic Georgetown and within easy walking distance of all of the world heritage site attractions including the local street art, local food courts, Restaurants, and little India. The Hotel is very comfortable with all the facilties you basically need, I stayed in a Cabin room which designed for single occupancy with a single bed but the room is more than large enough and comfortable for a solo traveller. I like in particular the electronic do not disturb / please make up room signs which you can switch on within the room. All the Hotel Staff are very professional, Helpful, friendly, and approachable. The Breakfast is good, and is cooked on an individual basis for each guest. The Breakfast menu is available when you check in and can be varied for each day of your stay, which is cooked and served outside on the terrace. The Hotel is good value for Money and is good for both Business and leisure travellers. This Hotel can definately compete with the more expensive Hotels with higher star ratings at a more reasonable cost. The Hotel staff and the Malaysian Hospitality here is wonderful, especially the wonderful May who took care of Breakfast during my stay. If you are looking to stay in the Georgetown area and you find this Hotel is available for the dates you require for a reasonable price, don't hesitate, this Hotel is getting very popular, Just book it.

We booked a studio room for four adults, after booking and reading some additional reviews online, I learned that a studio room, although fits four adults does not include bedding for four and we had to pay for two more beds, each bed at the cost of RM100 per night. Then upon checking in, we were told that the breakfast included with our room was only for two people and we would have to pay for two more breakfasts. Two of us went to breakfast the first morning we were there and decided it wouldn't be worth our while to even go to breakfast. There were very few options, although the lady that was working the breakfast area was amazing and provided eggs any style we wanted for us. I feel like we were nickel and dimed for everything and the hotel is not upfront with pricing and wording when you book.
While the room was comfortable, the amenities were fine, location is good. The hotel is near the clan jetties, as well as a number of places to eat. The staff is courteous and friendly. There is a service that will pickup and drop-off laundry for RM7 per KG, just give the front desk your clothing.

I have been travelling to Georgetown on and off for over 30 years now, and was drawn here by the positive reviews. I unfortunately had an underwhelming experience here. In my view, the SAVV is a basic yet overpriced 3-star hotel, with limited and compromised facilities, both within rooms and the hotel generally. The hotel would benefit from investing more fully in it's in-room amenities and provisions. My room offered a very limited and eclectic range of TV channels, some towels provided are worn and in need of replacing and at these prices the hotel really needs to do much better than provide a poor quality shampoo in showers, with no conditioner on offer also. Much is made of the location but the hotel is situated on a busy, noisy road, and it is fair to say that many hotels and guesthouses in the relatively compact tourist area of Georgetown are in good locations and close to great food options and services.
I should also add that I have already submitted this review on Google reviews, where the hotel has provided a courteous reply that is nevertheless tinged with a condescending suggestion that they are sorry they could not meet what they define as my 'high' expectations here. My expectations, relative to the price point of the hotel, are not high. I think it is a basic expectation to be provided with reasonable quality shampoo (and also conditioner) that does not leave my hair feeling itchy and greasy. It is perfectly fine to expect a certain level of provision and facilities at a hotel whose current advertised rates are equivalent to or actually exceed many 4-star hotel options available in Penang, and other parts of Malaysia.

The SAVV Hotel wast even here last time we visited Penang and family before Covid. Right down near the water on the edge of Georgetowns historic area and as close to everything as you want to be. SAVV is an environmentally friendly Business hotel, with generous size rooms , coffee and tea making and filtered water straight from the tap( saving thousands of plastic bottle every year). There is no restaurant, this is Penang so not needed with Hawker stalls opposite, a few steps up the road why would you bother? Friendly and helpful staff, we will stay here again. Next time we come to Penang.

We stayed here just before the world shut down in 2020 and it was fab, we came back and it was just as great as before. The staff were really friendly, a shoutout to May who did an amazing job of cleaning our room (and sorting out a great breakfast on our last day). Just across from the clan jetties, a minutes walk to the jetty food court its a good location for wandering around Georgetown. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and great facilities. The tap water is UV filtered as well so is suitable for drinking.

We found the Savv to be absolutely great in all aspects from the cleanliness of the rooms to the responsiveness and friendliness of the staff. The garden and pool area are a delight and just right for a quick cool off on a hot afternoon.
Whilst the hotel is on one of the busier roads it's well soundproofed and having a view out over the Clan Jetties and the water at such a reasonable price is an absolute winner for us.
The staff were very responsive to all enquiries and requests and the only thing they couldn't arrange was early check in but that was down solely to the time needed for them to get the room ship-shape after the previous denizen had checked out late so that was well outside their control.
We will definitely be staying here next time we're in Penang.

I had such a fantastic stay at Savv. I was lucky to find this hotel which offers single rooms for solo travellers. Not only that it is more affordable, the room is so well designed that it doesn't make you feel claustrophobic. The pictures shown on the website do not reflect the actual size of the room. The cabin room is actually very spacious for a single occupier. There is a long hallway between the door and the bed which makes the room very functional. The hotel is relatively new and the vibe is modern and warm. As a clean freak, I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. They have sanitisers every where and excellent hygiene standards. I always like to "inspect" the room upon first entry by looking for hairs on floors or dust in hidden corners but I couldn't find anything in the room. The room is facing one of the main streets and you can hear the traffic quite clearly. It does not bother me because I like a bit of noise when staying in an unfamiliar place alone especially at night. If you are a light sleeper, then bring ear plugs! The hotel has 24hr security with a guard sitting at the entrance who does his job very well and checks to make sure you are a hotel guest every time until he becomes familiar with you. As a solo traveller, safety is my priority and I couldn't have felt more impressed. Angel, who is at the reception all the time is super friendly and helpful. The housekeeping team is also very warm and friendly. I forgot to ask for her name but this lovely lady gave me a very pretty face mask because I complimented the one she was wearing one day. She did my laundry and hand washed my new garments for me. I couldn't have asked for more. The hotel is very close to the famous Chew Jetty and many other tourist attractions. Everything in George Town is within walking distance if you can put up with the heat and humidity. If not, Grab comes to your door step and is extremely affordable. The hotel doesn't have any food outlets but no one will eat at hotel restaurants in Penang! Go out and explore the abundance of crazy yummy food around! One of the popular dessert cafes China House is just around the corner. And this famous chinese pastry store Ming Xiang Tai with their famous egg tarts is also 2 minutes away by foot. I cannot recommend this place highly enough to travellers who like to stay in a place which makes you feel like home. This is the beauty of a small hotel. The service is very personalised and you feel very attended. Staying at Savv Hotel is definitely one of the highlights of my Penang trip.

All the staff were friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the cleaners The ‘Cuti’ room was ideal for a solo traveller. Great location for all the sites There was noise unfortunately from a concert on the clan jetties for a couple of nights until 1:30 am but the hotel realised and upgraded my room to the back of the hotel for the rest of my stay. They were very apologetic about the noise although it was beyond their control. There is a small garden at the back of the hotel with a plunge pool which is nice to retreat from the heat. It’s a pity they don’t do snacks and drinks in the evenings. Would definitely stay there again
