This little boutique hotel is located at the historical highlights of Penang. The hotel building itself is history in its own right, renovated with the highest quality served by a small but highly professional team of staff members. Watch out for the variety of local gourmandises for breakfast. The colours and tastes will blow your mind away. The large white bathroom can still your time away from the interesting visits at almost your doorstep. Don’t miss 88 Armenien. Be there even if you are not Armenien!

The room, the service, the breakfast and the attention to details really made our stay quite special. The hotel is in the center of everything when it comes to the heritage center so it's really convenient to plan for the day ahead. As we had to work on the last day of our stay, the hotel made everything possible for us to still enjoy our time with them. So grateful for such a great place and the team behind it.

The 88 Armenian has the ideal location within Georgetown's UNESCO World Heritage Zone - only few steps from all major tourist destinations within the historic centre, at the same time situated in a calmer section of famous Armenian Street. We were - once more - overwhelmed by the exclusiveness of the luxurious boutique hotel, a pearl of modern interior architecture within a colonial-time edifice. This was due to many reasons: A total of only 6 rooms overall, the individualized and always attentive service Lawrence provided, the extremely high quality of furniture, bathroom equipment and decoration, the lovely Aesop bathroom amenities, the extensive complimentary minibar and snack selection, daily tea time and breakfast delicacies etc. Also, the room was cleaned thoroughly on a daily base, night-time greetings handed out every evening and daily, very friendly and personal chats with Lawrence made us feel like home. At times, the street noises became a bit of an obstacle to sleeping due to the lack of noise protection, but the muezzin's prayer calls in the morning somehow even added to the already magical atmosphere. In general, we came to love the personal touch to all aspects of the accommodation and service in particular. This started off in advance with Suet Chin's proactive restaurant suggestions and presented on site by a generous upgrade due to our Post-COVID return. Thank you, Lawrence and the entire team of 88 Armenian including Suet Chin, who managed the pre-communication in such lovely ways, for having us experience true luxury!

Our stay was made especially delightful due to the excellent hospitality provided by the guest service personnel; Sky. The room and facilities were top notch and they also provided a free bath butler service with Aesop amenities. The food was fantastic too. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely stay here again.

This hotel managed to exceed the high expectations and hopes I had from the moment I arrived in my (kindly upgraded) sanctuary, the Rodin room. People look for different things in hotel rooms at different times... if you’re looking for pampering, hours of beautiful sleep, or want/need to hole up somewhere in a cocoon of comfort, 88 Armenian is your place. There’s the huge dreamlike bed, welcome cocktail and free minibar of local delights, the tv stocked with Netflix and whatever you need... and then there’s the bathroom of glory with perfect bath and shower and an absolute wealth of Aesop products. Request the bath butler from the bar downstairs then carry up your glass of wine when it’s all set. Doubtless great for romantic visits but also decadent indulgence if the trip is all for you. Everything about the room is perfect, with the exception that you can’t open the shutters across the windows yourself. Meaning you’re locked into unnatural light until housekeeping visits. That and there’s no lobby or by- the-window sitting area to relax. But honestly, so many hotels have those features. The bath and bed here are worth those trade offs and the hotel’s location in the absolute heart of the tourist quarter make this a clear winner. Value for price was outstanding - long may that last! Service from all staff was flawless throughout the stay. Breakfast is excellent. Cocktails in the bar are fine but not the best in town but wine by the glass is excellent value and quality. Will definitely stay here if visiting Georgetown again - or in need of catching up on sleep!

We spent a week at 88 Amernian in December 2019-January 2020 and absolutely loved our stay. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very spacious. We were in the Rodin Suite, and the large bathroom faced out onto the street. The bath tub is great, and the Bath Butler offered by the hotel is wonderful. We were so well looked after - a special shout out to Skye. Breakfast at the hotel was wonderful - fruit, croissants and great choices on the menu. The granola was a particular favourite. The hotel is also conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown, close to lots of other attractions. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at the 88 Armenian!
