Overall my stay was excellent and you want to come back again and again. My room was well prepared before arrival. At this time of Covid-19, I prefer to have my breakfast in room, and each day i will be advise (via mobile) of the menu for breakfast without fail.
Only one night stay at Premier Deluxe Room gives me full memorable memories. The room size is big enough. I like the concept of the hotel and room is luxury modern style. Its located in the center of the town and close to all the attractions and amenities within walking distance. The facilities is good and the staffs also friendly. For welcoming drink and breakfast, this hotel different with other hotel cause we have variety menu and we can choose menu which ever we like. For honeymoon couple, it would suggest to take this type of room. Overall, this hotel is lovely.
For the price, the experience of staying in this hotel has got nothing to shout about. Lacks a wow factor and everything just seem fine. If you are looking to stay at a decent hotel in penang island and have a good night sleep, this hotel is ideal as they provide ample parking space and it has a quiet surrounding. The sound proofing of the room is a little disappointing. During pandemic, basic SOP is followed. However, payment of deposit by credit card worries me a little as upon checkout, no mention about deposit whatsoever. The room is clean and aircond is cold. Wifi and tv channels is also adequate. Would have loved a little more wow factor to stay here again.
We booked a stay here over the 2021 new year period in a Premier Deluxe room. This room is about 452 sq.ft., so it’s a good size but have some quirky bits of design, that you will either love or hate. The main design is the shower which is a glass cubicle in almost the centre of the room, encased in a gilded cage. You can draw some screens down on the inside for modesty reasons, depending on your preference. The rest of the bathroom is open to the room as well, there are no separate walls, except for the water closet which has its own concealed space beside the main entrance door. This means it is away from the sink and the shower, which is outside. Convenient or not, I leave it to you to decide. It must be said that the toiletries provided were excellent. The sink and pantry counter is combined and long, stretching across one wall. However despite the counter length, there is only one sink, which is a shame, when there is so much counter space. The fridge and safe are located in cabinets below the counter. The drawers are stored with the cups/saucers and laundry materials. A coffee machine is also provided as well as a kettle. Items in the fridge and the coffee and tea are complimentary and are replenished daily which is a good thing. The main drawback of the room is the lack of a concealed cabinet or drawers to store clothing. There is an open rack to hang some clothes in front of the shower cubicle, but very few hangers. Not easy if you have to stay a few days and keep the bulk of your clothes in the bag due to lack of space. This could be an easy fix for the hotel, just put in a cabinet. There is a flat screen television mounted on the wall with some channels but the size of the television is a bit small compared to the size of the room. Complimentary wi-fi is provided with good speed, and plenty of power points throughout the room for charging your devices. The bed is great but the mattress is a bit hard, not the soft type, but perhaps this is subject to personal taste. All in all the room was modern and clean, housekeeping generally good, only the design elements are subjective. As said before, you will either love it or hate it. For the hotel in general, the location is good, smack dab in the heritage area of Penang, and close to the ferry terminal and clan jetties. Another good point is the availability of car parking on the 1st floor of the hotel which is complimentary and no extra charge. The facilities of the hotel are not quite 5-star standard, there is a small plunge pool on the rooftop, with a view over the Church Street jetty and the channel to the mainland, as well as a gymnasium. On the ground floor, the reception lobby is small, and the restaurant called the Glassroom is located next to the reception. The rest of the ground floor is taken up by shops or restaurants like San Francisco Coffee. Because the hotel is long and narrow, the typical floor is arranged with rooms along both sides of the corridor in a barrack like manner, the front units facing Church Street and the back units facing the the next door building. While the cleanliness of the room itself was fine, we noticed that the corridor was not vacuumed as thoroughly as the rooms. Also guests who ordered room service left their plates in the corridor, and this was not removed sometimes for 24 hours by the staff. This detracted a bit from the luxury feel of the hotel at times. We noticed the same thing in the reception lobby. Overall the hotel was offering good rates for the period we stayed. From the other reviews on here, the hotel does get good reviews, so perhaps we are being overly critical. Still deserves 4-stars.…
Centrally located hotel, close to all the attractions and amenities. We stayed here for 2 days in December 2020. We got connecting room, every convenient for us as family. Allow Grab food ordering. Car parking is on 1st floor, within the building. Only thing to improve is the concierge services, needed to be more welcomed.
