The Prestige Hotel is in a fabulous location. Walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, cafes and of course George Town Heritage Trail. We had a great room but not much of a view. The main things that let this hotel down is the restaurant. Does not deserve a five star rating. So many items not available. They would not open a bottle of wine so I could have a glass. Wine by the glass was not available even though it was mentioned. The staff are wonderful and always very helpful. I loved the rooftop pool and we often found it empty.
From check in to check out, and the stay itself, everything was fantastic at The Prestige. Friendly staff, the beautiful room, the location, the food, all make it a place you would happily return to again!
Really enjoyed my stay. Nice modern hotel. Walking distance to historical area. Easy parking. Rooms modern and functional and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in Georgetown and easy walk to Art Street and historical attractions. Highly recommend.
The property is clean, really clean. Cozy ambience and rooms that bring something different than traditional hotel layouts. Service is top notch especially from Mira at reception whom handled the arrival experience well . Food was overall good and tasted fantastic. All in all a great stay but still i would say in all honesty. The room rates are on the higher side but its ok.
This hotel was lovely. The front desk manager, Zair had the best service ever. We had a early check in and had nice wonderful welcome drinks . The room was super clean and modern. Best stay at Penang and I have recommended my friends and family. My friend just booked for her upcoming stay too :) thank you PRESTIGE HOTEL :)
Me and my family stayed at the Deluxe Trio room at The Prestige for 2 nites. There are many things that we like about this hotel:- - location-wise, it’s strategically located in the middle of Georgetown and near to many attractions (eg. Armenian Street, Fort Cornwallis, Padang Kota esplanade, Chulia Street and also popular eateries. All within walking distance (less than 10 min walk). - the hotel is still new, 2-3 years old, hence everything is in good condition. The all-white theme makes the hotel looks very elegant and classy. - the rooms are tastefully designed and equipped with high quality amenities (eg. Nespresso machine, LED television with lots of movies selection, high-end toiletries, etc). My favourite is the complimentary soft drinks and chocolates in the mini bar. The bed is super comfortable and we had good sleeps. - excellent staff service!! The front desk team (esp the manager - Mr Zain) are friendly and helpful. Zain himself help us with our luggages. The team at the Glass Hall coffee house were also very friendly and delivered quality services in timely manner. Just a note to highlight the shower and toilet has a rather funky design! Some may not like it but we appreciate the difference in the design compare to the typical hotels. In short, we like this hotel very much and will stay here again.…
Right in the heart of Georgetown’s Unesco World Heritage Site lies the Pretige Hotel, member of IHG's Mr. & Mrs. Smith program. A one time bustling warehouse or godown in this historically rich street that marked the days when Penang was a shipping capital in this part of our world now houses this wonderful hotel. The design of the hotel is inspired by a movie of the same name released in 2006, which makes the hotel stand out from the rest of the pack. The car park is quite discreet but spacious even for a LWB vehicle. There may be limited parking lots, but that has never been a problem as the young, energetic team at the hotel will be at hand to assist if places were full. Checking in is quite efficient, and the lifts are located on the east and the west – up to the 4th floor. Room sizes are not as spacious as most conventional hotels and roll away beds cannot be fitted due to the unique designs of each room. The shower room is like a magician’s cubicle – again discreet but may not meet the approval of older or platonic couples. The provision of Nespresso-like coffee capsules and TWG Tea is testament to what the Prestige aspires to achieve – a luxury boutique hotel. The gym and pool on the 4th floor may not be large, yet it is dainty enough to enjoy a good workout or a dip in the pool while overlooking what used to be the ferry terminal. Within the neighbourhood lies an array of F&Bs worth exploring. All in all, a good stay in the heart of Georgetown.…
Booked a night with the Prestige for a post event chillax. Enjoyed a good time especially the pool with beautiful view, the gym was small but suffice and could just grab an easy meal or coffee below. i like the toiletries range that they provide and overall i did had a good timeout with the comfortable bed and room ambience. Staff was polite and friendly too.
Honestly I don't even know why it is rated as 5 star hotel.. First, check in was slow (reached the hotel at 5pm, said that the room was not ready) , second customer service is a nono.. to be fair the reception is good, but when me and hubs getting in to the elevator, the room card is not functioning, there is one hotel staff at the ground floor elevator as well, don't even bother asking what is the issue we're facing. oh well, it seems like if you are some social influencer, you will be treated well, too bad we're not.. rooms are decent and clean.
When i checked in, there was an used espresso capsule left in the bathroom. On second day, the tissue box left 2 pieces of tissue, housekeeper didn't replace with a new one, the food stain and chili flake left on the table the night before were not cleaned, trash next to garbage bin was not removed. It's a terrible hotel. One mistake is fine, multiple mistakes in my 2 nights stay totally not acceptable. Is this a real 5 starts hotel? Room looked great at first glance, second glance, very poor workmanship, you would find cracks everywhere and it rather small. I would rather call it a boutique hotel without rating due to the poor housekeeping.
