Top marks for this wonderful hotel that is well conserved and showcasing the rich heritage. The staff were very hospitable, warm and friendly, especially Yeoh, Raj and Ginny. Our family and extended family had a wonderful stay in this cosy, beautiful and Instagrammable hotel. Walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and street food.
This hotel is perfect for a stay in George Town. Lovely decor and quality furnishings. Great places to eat just literally around the corner. Also worth a big mention was the staff.. all extremely professional and all made us feel welcome. A big thanks to Raj on reception. A credit to the hospitality trade.
Lovely hotel with a colorful history. A heritage hotel that’s done up with all the modern comforts you need. Wonderful staff (shout out to manager Yeo) and a great location to explore George Town. Close to the street food scene and excellent restaurants and bars.
Stayed at Yen Keng hotel over the weekend. Especially impressed by the preservation of the heritage characters of the house and the location. It’s near to a lot of places such as hawkers right across the road at carnavon road, Loce Lane, famous chicken rice, Syrian food and even durian! All within walking distance. Special mention to the front counter staff who are so helpful and friendly (forgot to ask their names) and provided us with valuable information on the Penang hill. We love hanging out at the lobby and had drinks there. Thanks for the lovely stay.
My family had a 2 night stay at this charming boutique hotel a couple of days ago and was very impressed with the excellent hospitality and service we received. The staff were friendly and helpful and always with greeting guests with a smile. The rooms, although not large, was clean, comfortable and came with modern facilities. Airconditiong was very good and the hot water system and water pressure excellent. We had a wonderful stay there and wish we had opted for a longer stay. I am very impressed with the honesty of their staff...we left 2 full bottles of scotch behind and they went to great lengths to contact me. Thank you guys. We will be back and strongly recommend everyone to give stay at your hotel. Good one!!
very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Credit to Raj, Yeoh and Eswary. Rooms are rooms. The hotel is centrally located an close to many food and beverage places. The night entertainment places are near and safe.
From the time the phone was answered, the way our last minute request for two rooms entertained, until the warm well wishes when we left this little hotel has more personal touch than the grand names of Penang combined (the most famous could not be bothered to entertain a seriously expensive booking request, left unanswered for 36 hours). Adverse circumstances and sheer coincidence brought us to this charming small hotel in a truly historic and very well restored building gentle heart of the old town district but if we ever go back to Penang I would not even look at another place but book here again.
Chose the Yeng Keng hotel instead of Cheong Fatt Tze after reading a few reviews. I made the right choice. We were able to check in early at 12:30 pm on Sunday. We received a warm welcome from the security guard & the front desk. They were attentive & answered our queries. So impressed with the details of the facade & striking yellow wall. Everything is so thoughtfully decorated. They have well-maintained landscaping inside out. Our room is on the 2nd floor, back of the building. Quiet & peaceful, no traffic noise can be heard, though the location is on a busy road. Clean with a huge bed & so comfortable. The bathroom is a good size for a couple stay. As we checked out, the Manager, Ms Yeoh gave us postcards as a souvenir. She is well-mannered & friendly. We talked for about 15 minutes, about how wonderful the hotel services & etc. A truly memorable visit to Penang. Please, please book a stay at this place if you are in George Town. Parking is ample & secured. There is also a small pool. It is an insta-worthy well-conserved historic building. Thank you, Ms Yeoh & team, for your services. Definitely will come back again.…
Clean rooms, friendly and helpful team or staff at this hotel. Great location being walking distance from local food and night life. Shout out to the team as they purchased breakfast for us and served on time. Parking space limited but still available throughtout the stay
I've stayed in so many 5 star hotels in Malaysia and honestly they are all the same...lacklustre. Yeng Keng however is a beautiful heritage house with lots of character. The staff are so lovely and accommodating and the vibe is relaxed. They only have a few rooms so they are well maintained and you get the pool to yourself alot. There are lots of thoughtful touches and the bed is comfortable. If you want a more authentic experience if this unesco town stay in a heritage hotel and wander round all that georgetown has to offer on the doorstep. You can still get taxis across to batu feringhi and enjoy the beaches there for the day. You wont regret staying here. Big shout out to Yeoh who was so knowledgeable and couldnt do more for us
