Room was average and clean but the ground floor level window security fittings were flimsy. Front desk / Reception service was a bit haphazard and when it came to returning my deposit the staff member initially claiming that the desk would not be staffed when I wanted to check out after 7am on the Friday the day I wanted to leave. I was told that my deposit would be left with the security guard for me to collect when I left at about 8.30 to 9 am. The hotel advertises that the reception is open 24hrs . In the end I collected my deposit at 7 am on that Friday but was then told I had been mistakenly undercharged for my room and was required to pay half the returned deposit to settle my bill. I will not stay at this hotel again.

You can’t get much more Central- set back from Chulia Street so very close to most if the bars and restaurants but not noisy even though it was Chinese New Year. Strange layout- I’m guessing it wasn’t built as an hotel. Rooms are small and have frosted windows so you can’t see out. No fridge in room but air con works ok. Hot water in shower which is right above the toilet. Bed was large and very firm mattress. All very clean, room cleaned daily which you don’t always get in budget hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the Indian girl who works reception in the evening who helped us with ferry bookings. In summary I was happy for the price.

This hotel situated strategically middle of Georgetown. Access to a lot places of interest within walking distance.

The room we booked was relatively small however upon request from the front desk, we go an upgrade to a bigger room. The advantage is our room was located in the ground floor.

Front desk was friendly and pleasant and the ambiance of the hotel was well lit and quiet at night.

Room for improvement, I would to suggest to them to upgrade to furniture in the room as it looked very used up. May be due to high occupancy.

Overall we was satisfied with the stay.

Stayed in this hotel from 30Apr to 1 May. The hotel room was so small and not even have mirror or dressing table. Toilets super small. Really regret booking this hotel

1. Small room
2. Air cond not cold. Could only fell the air but not coolness.
3. Noises can be hear from outside. I'm unable to sleep.
4. During check out, they make a through checking in the room for any damage or stains on the bedsheets. Need to pay rm30 if we stained the bedsheets.
5. Small toiles

Over all, it's a worst hotel. I don't recommend it. I won't book this hotel again 😡

Used this place only as a place to shower and recuperate considering there was much to explore in Penang. Its located along the street where it comes to life at night between food and parties. It has ample private parking and you can definitely take advantage of leaving the car there considering how hectic traffic flow around the surrounding area can be. The place is a straightforward hotel and to me, it hits all the checklist for what I look for in an area like Chulia.

The good things is nice Receptionist and cleaner ( I forgot my glasses), quiet place, free bicycles from 7:00 AM-7:00PM ( but almost them are flat-tyre, some broken parts you should check carefully before taking go around), some parking lots for those who driving.
You should read and double check things you want for your room before booking. My room is 215, totally different with what it is on booking.com: the wrap is not clean, not bottle water, no coffee, no light on table, double room but there’s one pair of slipper, shared bath room.
And, you will be charged 1 night for cancellation after canceling day.
the price is quite higher for what they are.
Hope Chulia Heritage would be better in coming time!

The hotel location is walking distance to the love lane, street art penang, chew jetty and street night hawker.
The room was not that small but the bedsheets seems not washed properly. Dont stay on ground floor as it can be very noisy esp on weekends

Stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are a little bit compact but you would not be spending most of your time in the room. The plus point of this hotel is its location. Located smack in the middle of Chulia street, the most happening place in Penang at the moment. Close by to eateries and the pub scene. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I think the most impressive is the tourist tax comprising of Rm 2. No concierge and bell boy so u need to bring your own luggages.

If u wanna learn the heritage of Penang, this place is recommended.

The weakness is I dun know why they just only provide 1 key & insist open for you if we are leaving the key inside.

My friends and I stayed here for a night. Since we were on a budget trip we decided that it was best to take the room with shared bathroom.

Overall, it is a pleasant place to stay. Just that the signage to the hotel isnt very clear so we missed a few times, had to drive around again and search carefully because the hotel entrance is situated in between shops.

I hope the management team would do something about the signage of the hotel because we had trouble looking for it as it was our first time there in Georgetown. Other than that, the staffs are friendly & helpful. Thanks to the cleaner for making sure the shared bathroom is clean.

Hi, We tired to check in early but the hotel was full so it was not possible. However we dropped our bags off at their secure bag drop and went off to explore. Enjoy your trip. Its a wonderful place.

Yes, we have our own private parking space but if it's full, our security will guide you to a other private car park. It's just within 100 m from our hotel. You would need to pay RM15.00 per day but you can claim from us with the receipt.

There is only a central, and rather large, staircase from the ground floor, to the second floor, directly behind the reception... Oh, and shoes off before you go up the stairs, there are racks provided for them ...
