Stayed in this hotel from 30Apr to 1 May. The hotel room was so small and not even have mirror or dressing table. Toilets super small. Really regret booking this hotel 1. Small room 2. Air cond not cold. Could only fell the air but not coolness. 3. Noises can be hear from outside. I'm unable to sleep. 4. During check out, they make a through checking in the room for any damage or stains on the bedsheets. Need to pay rm30 if we stained the bedsheets. 5. Small toiles Over all, it's a worst hotel. I don't recommend it. I won't book this hotel again 😡

My friends and I stayed here for a night. Since we were on a budget trip we decided that it was best to take the room with shared bathroom. Overall, it is a pleasant place to stay. Just that the signage to the hotel isnt very clear so we missed a few times, had to drive around again and search carefully because the hotel entrance is situated in between shops. I hope the management team would do something about the signage of the hotel because we had trouble looking for it as it was our first time there in Georgetown. Other than that, the staffs are friendly & helpful. Thanks to the cleaner for making sure the shared bathroom is clean.

Used this place only as a place to shower and recuperate considering there was much to explore in Penang. Its located along the street where it comes to life at night between food and parties. It has ample private parking and you can definitely take advantage of leaving the car there considering how hectic traffic flow around the surrounding area can be. The place is a straightforward hotel and to me, it hits all the checklist for what I look for in an area like Chulia.

The good things is nice Receptionist and cleaner ( I forgot my glasses), quiet place, free bicycles from 7:00 AM-7:00PM ( but almost them are flat-tyre, some broken parts you should check carefully before taking go around), some parking lots for those who driving. You should read and double check things you want for your room before booking. My room is 215, totally different with what it is on booking.com: the wrap is not clean, not bottle water, no coffee, no light on table, double room but there’s one pair of slipper, shared bath room. And, you will be charged 1 night for cancellation after canceling day. the price is quite higher for what they are. Hope Chulia Heritage would be better in coming time! Kate

This hotel situated strategically middle of Georgetown. Access to a lot places of interest within walking distance. The room we booked was relatively small however upon request from the front desk, we go an upgrade to a bigger room. The advantage is our room was located in the ground floor. Front desk was friendly and pleasant and the ambiance of the hotel was well lit and quiet at night. Room for improvement, I would to suggest to them to upgrade to furniture in the room as it looked very used up. May be due to high occupancy. Overall we was satisfied with the stay.

The hotel location is walking distance to the love lane, street art penang, chew jetty and street night hawker. The room was not that small but the bedsheets seems not washed properly. Dont stay on ground floor as it can be very noisy esp on weekends

Located in the heart of Georgetown. Close to little India. Hence, no issues in finding Indian food. Walkable distance to street art which is one of the good attractions of Penang. Good hotel room and no too heavy on pockets. Highly recommended.

Urgently looking for a night stay, so found this hotel. Conveniently tucked in a lane. Walking convenience to plenty restaurant and some museums and heritage rows. The room was on first floor wher u need to take off shoes. Toilets are outside common sharing. Its narrow inside and may splash the toilet rolls wet. They gave only one key card which is annoying to take out each time go to toilet. Should find better solution like giving 2 cards? Then there's only one socket fr charging which is way up on the wall. Come on this is 21st century should provide usb sockets near the bed. Wifi showed full bar but downloading taking ages. Watch out for door stopper which you would kick into!

I dont understand some people's comments about this place. Did they really come here or not. This place is not a hotel, much less 3 star hotel that they show online. This place is a hostel with rooms without toilet. We fell for this trick and when we asked for toilet, we had to pay extra USD40 for two nights. When we complained, the receptionist asked us to complain to tripadvisor. But the real problem is the smell. The towels for the three of us were smelly. Apparently they keep the old ones to save money. Saving money is all you see in this hostel: no tissue in the room, very bad toilet tissue, torn bathroom mat, extremely slow wifi, tv with only 10 channels, not cold fridge, small bedroom, no bathroom exhaust. It seems that they do everything they can to remind us that this is a hostel. We also didnt see any housekeeping even after 13:40 pm. When we asked why our room is still not made up, the receptionist said thats because guest checked out at 12 noon. We asked whether this hostel is the only one where guests checked put at 12pm and she said no, but guests only checked in at 2 pm. We didnt understand her logic and said nothing. Then when we came back, the bed room was made up soooo unkemptly. This is the most horrible place we ever stayed in this worderful city. Just choose something else rather than regret

The facade, driveway and lobby are beautiful, but it's a shame that sleeping in their rooms is so difficult due to the noise. It isn't noise from the street - you can't really hear anything from there - it's the noise from the lobby and other guests. We stayed in room 124 on the first night, and hardly slept until after 2am. If anyone walked up and down the stairs outside the room, it sounded like a herd of elephants inside the room. THUMP THUMP THUMP!!! Our recommendation is to avoid room 124! They moved us to another room after that, which was better, but still not good at all. You can hear the hotel staff talking and laughing all night. Their sounds echo off the tiles and all the hard surfaces, and they play piano music late into the evening, that just reverberates off every surface.
