Coffee Atelier was one of the best places we stayed in our trip through Malaysia, but also one of my favourites for a long time. Perfect location in the old town, easy access to touristy things like love lane, cheong fatt tze blue mansion and hawker stalls. The room itself was spacious, super clean, bathroom outdoors was well decorated and maintained. AC was great for escaping the heat, I thought it was pretty quiet too. Breakfast in the pretty cafe next door was an excellent start to the day. But most of all it was the thoughtful and lovely Ruby and Judy who made our stay perfect. They were attentive, friendly, super knowledgeable about the area and just so accomodating. I would stay at CA just to see them again!

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor which was pretty quiet, staircase is narrow though so don’t go crazy...

All I can say is WOW. This place was truly unique, and thoroughly exceeded our expectations. I booked it after having seen the photos, but they don’t do it justice. Coffee Atelier is a beautifully restored historic building, which used to be a shop in Colonial Georgetown. The rooms have been restored and furnished with pieces that seem to fit the original period. The atmosphere is really special. The entrance also operates as a Gallery, and we purchased some lovely works of art. The staff on site were wonderful, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. They offered excellent recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. I was surprised to get all of this for the amount that we paid (as there were more expensive options that did not seem anywhere near as nice). Truly excellent value for money.

It’s a charming hotel in a historic building that is well maintained. The location is convenient for sightseeing, wandering about and for restaurants and cafes. There is an restaurant, Christoffs, right at the corner which has the breakfast that comes with the room. We had dinner there one night and it was excellent. Finally, I can’t say enough about how helpful the staff Ruby and Judy were!

Saw a painting I liked at the gallery and decided to buy it after returning back to my home country. Contacted them to see if I can get them to deliver it and had the best service. Very helpful, prompt and honest. They really went out of their way. Received the painting in tip top condition. Very happy indeed.

We really loved our stay at Coffee Atelier. The property just oozes character and charm. The suites are decorated beautifully and authentically. So welcoming to come back to after long hot days sightseeing. We particularly loved having an outdoor seating area. The location is excellent, central to the many attractions of George town but also very peaceful away from traffic and other noise. The staff were charming and helpful, particularly Ruby and Judy. We really enjoyed our breakfasts, particularly the delicious bread baskets. We appreciated having a cold breakfast sent to our room the night before when we needed to leave early for the ferry. A thoughtful touch. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and had a great experience. The hotel is quirky, set in some renovated shop houses. They’ve been done very well - retaining their original features and feel to the buildings. We had a ground floor room, which was spacious and you got a nice outside space too. The hosts (2 ladies) were especially brilliant, very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was also very nice, including fruit, bread and croissants, eggs, sausage, bacon, muesli/cereal and yoghurt. Would thoroughly recommend.

Judy and Ruby were amazing hosts and spent time explaining things to us including good places to eat etc. The room was wonderful, very clean and plenty of space. We also liked the decor which is atmospheric and romantic in keeping with the heritage of the property. In the evening it was lovely to have some outside space to relax after a busy day. Breakfasts were great and there was enough variation to keep us happy during our 8 day stay. Judy also makes delicious banana cake which was a real treat! Thanks Judy. We very much hope to return as it was a very memorable experience, thanks xx

Really beautiful 6-unit heritage hotel with a cute cafe plus gallery on site. Our ground floor room's very artsy, like walking back in time. If you like new/modern furnishing, this is not it - the floor/rugs/tiles look old/chipped but maybe that's what makes the place look so atmospheric? In fact, there's a magazine on the table featuring CA explaining that things are deliberately kept in their original condition so people can have the unique experience of a living museum. From the arched arcade on a small lane, you unlock a shared entrance to access your suite, after 2 more double doors there's a room with a table & retro wardrobe then your bedroom past another double door. Ceiling fans & AC cool the rooms down nicely. Separate bathroom & shower are outside the bedroom through lovely stained glass french doors in your own semi-covered private mini courtyard garden, with the bathroom/shower doors not coming up all the way & its own ceiling fan over the seating area. This design's a little different but we really loved sitting out back - definitely an interesting place to stay for a night or two! Shower's a rain shower, not handheld/movable. Natural handmade toiletries & specialty tea bags are nice touches. Lots of rustic sliding locks. Could hear upstairs neighbors' every step but otherwise fairly quiet. Bring an adapter if you don't have type G plugs. Can have good huge Western breakfast anytime between 8 am and 6 pm & mineral water you can fill up anytime then put in your fridge. They can send laundry for you to be done by noon the next day. Walkable to many sights & eateries!

Flexible hotel wherein we check in at very late night but Judith greet us with a friendly assistance. Ruby assisted our breakfast and give us some tips on where to go. They are really accomodating, friend and will give an excellent service together with Sol. Will definitely recommend it to my friends & family.
