Unique boutique hotel accommodation, tastefully designed and beautifully decorated. Fantastic staff, very helpful and friendly. Stayed for 6 nights with small group of 4 couples, each couple had their own room with bathroom. Located close to restaurants, markets and other things of interest. Owner was on site and was very warm and friendly, showing us around the art gallery and...

Location is terrific ... just 5 mins walk to Chulia and the various streetfood options there, 10 mins walk to Little India, 15 mins to Armenian Street. The owners left the old shophouses much as they were... with doors distressed and not repainted, the original panels etc. So you get a sense that they understood the beauty of the old...

Climbing up the narrow staircase, you realise you're stepping into history. Beautifully furnished with enough modern comforts to make it a pleasure to stay in, but not too much to lose the gorgeous sense of history. Sound proofing was limited, with some noise from the streets during the night but that's to be expected from these older buildings. Just bring...

We stayed for a weekend at the coffee atelier and really liked it a lot. It's a beautiful heritage building and even so furnished. It gives you a real experience of living a different culture. The rooms are very spcious and you even have a second (small) room. The staff is very kind and they want to help you with...

We took the upstairs room, which has one double bed and one small bedroom with a single bed. It really feels like an old heritage hotel. The breakfast is boring after 2 days... But many coffee places around the corner.

We did our booking at the last minute, and in hind sight got lucky with the last room available. Best parts are the small details and the care with which modern amenities have been plugged into the old property. Check-in: We showed up early for check-in, and were immediately shown into our room by Paul, who also explained all the...

I stayed for two nights in an upstairs suite and just loved it. The place is a 100 year old shophouse and it just oozes old charm. I loved it. The workers are so friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast in their cafe' is wonderful (and really filling). The location is perfect, and I walked everywhere during my stay,...

This place is a heritage beauty but the staff is the outstanding part. From the great advice, wonderful breakfast to the ice bucket for afternoon beers on the verandah. Nothing was too much trouble. This place is right near all the great places to visit in George Town.

Situated opposite the Seven Terraces, Coffee Atelier was a real hidden gem. I travelled with a friend who had already booked and I thought I would join him and book the same accommodation.
