Room wise it's okay but they gave me a comfortable room which is able to hear the mosque music of prayer, the wifi is slow and the password given doesn't work for a few days. What I only like is the spacious bed and decent room. They need to do something about food trash to keep sufficient bins outside the hotel at least.

Good value for money to stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, and security was good during my stay. However, the cleanliness was disappointing. I found hair on the floor, and the bed sheets smelled of medicine. Additionally, the sink was clogged, but a staff member came to help us promptly. I hope they can improve on cleanliness.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June 2012. A relatively new hotel, small room but clean bedsheets. Basic furniture, a small fridge, tea/coffee kettle, 2 bottles of mineral water are given free daily. The parking area is small but they have a guard to guide you to get out of the congested parking lot. Just remember not to accept a room in front of the elevator, which we had, it was very noisy even late at night and very early in the morning people talking, banging room doors and trolley bags can be heard. The staff are helpful and breakfast corner is always full, but in Penang it is so easy to find food around the hotel. Hotel is strategically located, every night hawker stalls and restaurants are packed with food around the area (Lorong Baru or New Lane). You can also take a 15 min walk to Chowrasta (wet and dry market along Penang road) more food and lots of Penang souvenirs along the road.

I check in one day, they have insufficient parking lot for the guest. The hotel has 9th floor with18room each floor but available parking lot is approx 20-30only. The rest of the guest has to park roadside and by 8am need to clear the car or else will be saman by government authority. Second choice can park at private parking with own cost but also limited space. So during my check in night i cant get any parking at roadside and even at the private parking. When i asked the FO staff, she replied we cant do anything and you have to find your parking. So rude and un professional way of reply. Seriously the FO staff is very rude . No hospitality at all. I do send email on this issue but no reply at untill now. So guys please think before you book this hotel just imagine no parking lot available..hmm its seriously hassle for the traveler and unprofessional approach by the FO staff. My personal opinion you still can find other hotel for the same rate with basic parking facility provided.

Less than expectation. I'm sorry, it's same standard with Oyo hotel. Definitely will not repeat again.
1) no parking, but security at outside not friendly, we cannot disturb him watch Hindustan movie.
2) upgrade to deluxe, many thanks. If deluxe room like that, I'm not sure la how superior room look like.
3) not recommend to having breakfast here. Understand this is 3 star hotel, but......
4) towel so terrible, smelly and don't know la how to say. Refer photo
5) corridor bau rokok, haiya so smelly. Sakit dada sis, but what to do, we check in at 3am, so in our mind only pillow, pillow, pillow
6) check out at 1000 am, because cannot tahan the room environment

Been here for few times ‘coz I like the location & quite reasonable price.

I don’t mean to brag, I am a five star Hotelier / Front Desk staff for 5 years now and I know exactly how FO operation works from easy chill to terrible operation. I am so disappointed & upset this time due to unprofessional and lack of manners approach. I was given a late check out at 1PM but FO staff started keep calling me at 12 on repeat in the midst of my work conference which was totally got interrupted. What would you feel if you were in my shoes?

Busy weekend, I totally understand. But pls use a proper verbiage, and DO NOT confirm something you are not able to provide. Guest understands when he is well-informed in a professional way.

I had a stay in Hotel Sentral Georgetown with my mom for 3 nights altogether. It was our first visit ever to Penang, and it was suppose to be a memorable first trip for my mom who rarely travelled anywhere within her lifespan. Having stayed in Hotel Sentral Pudu a few months back, I was confident that our basic needs would have been met in Hotel Sentral Georgetown. However, nothing turned out right during our entire stay in this hotel. Nevertheless, being a three star accommodation, I did not set any kinds of expectation for our stay in this hotel. But I felt ridiculed by every type of service rendered during our entire stay. This hotel was nothing but a huge disappointment.

At first, I made a reservation for a Superior Room but later found out, after emailing the hotel that this room category had no windows that faces outside. Being claustrophobic, it is obvious that my mom would need a proper window that faces the external of the hotel. Therefore, I booked the Deluxe Room category with a promise of a city view. I emailed the hotel again to ensure that the simplest request of getting a room I have paid for as per promised can be met upon our arrival.

Upon checking in, to our disappointment, the room we received bear no such promises. My mom and I, though reluctant, did not mind receiving a room on the first floor. However, to our disbelief, the room we had did not have a view of the outside at all. The only type of scenery we were getting for our entire three nights stay in this god-forsaken hotel was the view of the roof of Hotel Sentral Georgetown's lobby. The orning blocked most of the 'city view' I was promised when proceeding with the booking. What is the point of paying more if I had not specifically wanted, and specified clearly in my email in the most simplest of English, that I wanted a room with a proper window that faces the outside world, and using common sense, obviously with no obstruction.

What made matters worst was that the certainly-not-delightful-at-all receptionists and duty managers made no clear effort in trying to help me with the request of a change of room. For some reason, the duty manager showed no willingness and professionalism at all. The duty managers never spoke a word but continued staring at their what-seemed-to-be-exciting-computer-screens. Instead, they childishly passed their messages to their trainees who in turn conveyed to me. This disturbing event happened all right in my face. How am I suppose to feel being conveniently ignored like that as a paying guest of this bust hotel?

What was interesting was that I was told by Stewart from the front desk that room 117 which I got, was one of the best Deluxe Room the hotel has to offer. Definitely a huge joke that he wished would have made my mom and I feel better. I was in the hospitality line for three years. So next time, I suggest the staff of this hotel be mindful with the type of people they want to lie through their teeth with.

Should you be looking for comfort after a whole tiring day of exploring beautiful Penang, Hotel Sentral Georgetown will never be, in a million years. an ideal accommodation. Every night without fail, the club which is one street down the hotel will be booming basses and screaming loud music. This calamity of a hotel is not sound-proof, so you will never have a good night's sleep, not till after 2am at least. In addition to the noise pollution from the night club nearby, you will be hearing every single thing that goes down in hallways and corridors near your room, from screaming neighbors at 6am, to screaming children in the next room!

Overall, Hotel Sentral Georgetown is nothing but a disastrous factor to what should have been one of the most memorable holiday with my mom. Penang is indeed a must-visit, but let's face it, just pay a little bit more to find another more comfortable accommodation.

The hotel lobby and lift are small, rooms are dirty with ants crawling around. Housekeeping took their own sweet time to clean up our rooms. The staffs kept banging the door early in the morning. No place to keep our toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was bad.
