Wonderful boutique hotel within 1-2 blocks of Prangin mall/Komtar bus station (note coach buses to KL load on the street - make sure you didn't pick the bus station far away south near the airport). Easy walk to old Georgetown, old town street art, Chew Jetty area, little India, etc. We stayed during the 2nd week of Chinese new year so easily walked over to the old Georgetown CNY celebrations (clan celebrations, etc) and had a wonderful time seeing cultural crafts for kids/adults, cultural foods, dragons, dancing, fireworks, etc. Hotel had air conditioning, elevator and a nice sky bar rooftop area for breakfast (need to order day before as they make it for you from the menu). They can can further improve the rooftop with more comfortable loungers to enjoy the view. Breakfast options included delicious curry chicken, fried chicken, english breakfast, pancakes, scrambled eggs as options. Rooms are a bit small but this is old Georgetown. Bathrooms updated but could use brighter light fixture over the mirror. Hotel is perfectly walkable 15-20 min from the ferry and a couple blocks from Komtar bus terminal or the street Jalan Rai. Easy walk to street art and night food market.

Unfortunately we had things stolen from our hotel rooms here - headphones, over 100 USD and unwrapped Gucci perfume. The Gucci perfume we had purchased at duty free when we arrived and packed it at the bottom of our main bag once we arrived at the hotel. That bag did not leave the hotel during our stay, so there is no other place it could have gone missing/lost. The USD was also packed in the main bag, hidden in a compartment which had also not left the hotel. The headphones were used on the plane to get to Penang, and were kept in hand luggage. Once again, we did not take them out of the hotel at any point during our stay. We also noticed once we had left the hotel that pockets/zips (such as a handbag within the bag) that we do not use on our backpacks were open, suggesting someone had gone through them. I really appreciate that the hotel staff checked the CCTV, but it still does not rule out the housekeeping. If you do stay here, make sure you lock your items in the safe. We have filed a police report, so will hopefully be able to claim back through insurance.

Disaster: atrophy, neglect, degradation, and indifference. This USED to be an amazing property and a favorite in Asia. No more! -Management has changed. For the worse. -Staff has changed. For the worse. -Amazing bkfst still promised - used to be outstanding! No longer delivered. In fact, no bkfst. whatsoever despite inclusion in rate. -Facilities degradation/atrophy. Zero upkeep/maintenance apparent through COVID. -New team falsely using old photos of facilities, breakfasts, afternoon tea, etc. -New team falsely using old ratings of facilities, breakfasts, afternoon tea, etc. -Borderline scam. I kinda just want to leave… but I prepaid, and they won’t allow even a partial refund.

We stayed here 5 to 6 years ago and gave it 5*. No longer. Service is noticeably worse. Gym and Jacuzzi non-existent. Rooftop bar closed. No breakfast. Rooms are still ok. Prices are higher - lower value. I am sure there are now better options.

Great location in a sleepy side street close some of the best streetfood, cafes and bars. PRO: - Staff is friendly. - Rooms size is good and interior is cool. - Location is amazing CON: - No sleep at night before 3 am on floor 3. Rooftop bar was pumping music daily until 2:30 am and rooms on the third floor are affected by heavy noise. The ceiling is thin and you can even hear chairs dragging. - Room was not clean, AC needs cleaning as well! - Noisy generator sounds all night from the outside. - TV did not work. The hotel has great potential, however the poorly designed roof top bar concept effects the rooms on the third floor. The rooms need a touchup and a deep-clean as well as proper sound proofing. Hopefully management looks into the issues.

Room Tip: Do not choose the third floor due to the noisy rooftop bar (until 2 am) and poor noise canceling.

Located at Jalan Pintal Tali, strategic location to many eateries, Carnarvon Street, Kimberly Street and Chulia Street. Room is quite small but clean and comfy. Rated as 4 star Hotel, this hotel is actually quite small with amenities like fridge, TV, safety box, bathrobe, ironboard, hair dryer, slippers and umbrella. Staff is friendly. Limited facilities during our visit, gym room is closed, only jacuzzi available with reservation required. Stay here for 4 nights. Overall we have pleasant stay.

There have limited facilities and service at the moment due to under construction. Good location with surrounding area which near convenient shops and tourist attractions as well as near art street and Kimberly street just behind the hotel have a lot of local food at night time. The staffs are helpful to provide local attractions and foods for person who new in Penang. Appreciate Leslie for the good recommendations and service.

This is a small hotel, but the bed is super comfy and clean. The shower/wc is modern and very clean. The hotel is in a good convenient location of Georgetown. The reception is efficient to explain clearly and quickly with no hassle.

If you’re looking for a place to sleep because your days in Penang are filled with activities particularly around Georgetown, you may consider this boutique hotel. No frills (rooms are tight), minimal amenities, clean and comfortable beds/ linens & good shower pressure are some of the advantages for choosing this hotel. It’s also a good stay because it’s: 1) within walking distance around Georgetown Armenian Street, Little India etc. 2) quiet at night; there’s no disturbance for a good night sleep However, there are some obvious flaws about this hotel and because of the reasons below, I won’t return. 1) There are no car parks available for guests although they claimed to have car parks. 2 car parks at most (but the owner may at some point give preference to its VIP guest coming for dinner OR another car park is actually located at the back of the hotel, just because it’s a dead end) DO NOT define availability as stipulated on their website or travel sites. If you’re driving, you shouldn’t consider this hotel. 2) The AC In our duplex room tends to leak if we continuously turn it on. We have to switch on-off for our 3D/2N

I stayed there about a week ago and where can I start to say all the great things about this hotel. First of all the breakfast is fantastic with fresh made to order roti bread. It is located not far from Kimberly street and a little further down the road is chula street. The service was great along with the hospitality. Try the rooftop bar for the free ice cream and wine at night. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to stay in Penang.
