We had the the most incredible stay at Noordin Mews, what a fabulous, beautifully restored heritage hotel. As a family, we stayed in one of the two bedroom suites, stylishly furnished and spacious. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by Jasmine, and her colleague, at reception. The staff could not have been more helpful and were available whenever we needed anything at whatever time of day. The pool in the garden is a welcome relief after a day spent in the hustle and bustle of Georgetown and the complimentary afternoon tea is a welcome touch. The cleaning of our rooms was immaculate and the little surprises before bed were a real treat. I can’t fault Noordin Mews and would thoroughly recommend a stay here for the architecture, comfort, location (perfect for a wander into Georgetown or to the local shopping malls) and above all, the friendly, efficient and helpful staff. A special mention to Jasmine, who spent lots of time with me over Georgetown maps explaining all the hawker stalls and places not to be missed. She was incredibly friendly and I really enjoyed our chats. Also to Ardi, in the breakfast and cafe area, his service is impeccable and he takes great pride in his work, always with a big smile on his face. His welcome in the mornings set us up for the day. Thank you to you all at Noordin Mews, we had an unforgettable stay and hope to visit again in the future.

Noordin Mews, conveniently located near the Center of downtown Penang, is a little gem of a hotel! The rooms are spacious with strong and efficient air-con and are cleaned twice daily. The staff - Edric, Belinda and Anong, make you feel welcome from the time you enter the hotel. Breakfast is hearty and delicious and after you have returned from a day of sightseeing, they offer you tea or coffee and a cake, free of charge! It is truly a welcoming hotel!

This cozy boutique is well-located and has a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff is incredibly accommodating and kind towards animals. We brought our well-behaved corgi and bird and they allowed us to bring them to breakfast which was a treat for us and the animals. The breakfast was healthy, delicious and plentiful. They take your order the day before so you don’t have to wait long for your order. We didn’t go in the pool, but it looked inviting. Would definitely recommend to pet owners!

Three nights here at the end of a hectic first week in the road have left us calm and happy. The staff are great, friendly and helpful, sorting the room daily with water, coffee, lit candles, mozzie repellent and little gifts. The pool is cooling, and the table in the courtyard are perfect for chat or a read in the evening. The theme is pre-war Chinese, with photos and prints complementing period furniture and rooms. Loved it.

What a terrific place! As soon as you arrive you are welcomed by friendly people who seem only to want to help you. Advice on what and where to eat, how to get there, what to see ... it's all there if you want it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and breakfasts generous. Thoroughly recommended!

We recently stayed at the Noordin Mews shortly before our holiday was cut short by the Lock down. This is a super little boutique hotel in the centre of Penang. Without exception the staff we met were lovely, very helpful and quick to respond to requests. All 3 of the reception staff were excellent and provided help and advice as to where to go and what to eat. They even plated up street food we brought back from a nearby street market. The breakfasts were simple but nice and another mention should go to the guy who served breakfast and worked in the little cafe all day, he was lovely. The hotel is close enough to the centre to walk most places and the pool provided a welcome cooling off when the temperatures were at their highest. The room we had was quirky and retro, nicely retro furnished and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely time there and have no hesitation in recommending the Noodin Mews.

The receptions and the staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. I bring along my parents and 2 dogs along this trip, the staff were very understanding and helpful all the time. We had a very pleasant trip this time, the hotel were really clean and well maintain. Although this is a pet friendly hotel, but the environment is so clean that you will not even realize it is pet friendly. The bedroom is really spacious that our pet can put the stroller in and having ample room for them to play in the room as well. The bed was extremely clean, i cannot even find any sign of dogs being here previously.

The hotel room is fitted with nice teak wood wardrobe that is full of its nature aroma, next to it is a vintage vanity table. For those who need a big vanity table, this would be the biggest one i ever seen with this range of hotel rate. Although it is a vintage vanity table, but everything is usable and full of storage.

We've been around the block, hunting boutique hotels and wonderfully curated Airbnb stays all over the world, and it has to be said that our stay at Noordin Mews was one of our favorite city boutique hotel stays ever.

Absolutely wonderful staff took great care of us before and throughout our stay. The breakfast had the perfect amount of options, something for everyone and tasted wonderful, along with small treats during the evening.

The hotel grounds and rooms were beautiful, immaculately curated, and exceptionally clean, and with the location splendid - being in the quiet part of Georgetown and situated close to the best cocktail bars Penang has to offer along with wonderful hawkers and finer dining such as Au Jardin (Michelin restaurant).

The pool, being situated in the courtyard and close to the in-house cafe made lounging in the afternoons a tranquil experience as we got out early during the day to return for an afternoon coffee/drink/snack before getting out again in the late afternoons.

We won't hesitate to return to NM next time we're in Georgetown! A rare find and a gem of a place!

It is like travelling back in time staying at this place with some touch of modern amenities and facilities. I love the overall look and feel of the place. It is very clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Luscious plants and gigantic flowers fill up the courtyard which has plenty space and corners for us to lounge and perhaps some pics for the memories.

Breakfast selection is fantastic and tasty. Choose which ever from the menu and you will not be disappointed.

A few notes for improvement that I want to suggest. Covid 19 has changed the way we do things for most part. In an effort to have a contact less check in process, I understand the need of having scanning QR code upon check in. However, it does take away the human touch and quite troublesome for us.

My suggestion that a tablet or device is prepared for the check in process to eliminate the connection problem and the staff can assist to make a copy of the passport or IC.

Another note is on the feeling "safe " and "secured". I understand the notion of keeping the use of padlock for the room door is keeping the look and feel of old times, however, it does give me the feeling of unsecure to leave my room with my belongings inside to venture out.

Overall, those concerns does not dampen the whole stay. Would love to come back again.

Noorden Mews is a boutique heritage hotel with a small tropical and a clean swimming pool. Inside Iet’s a classic Straits-style shophouse with many authentic objects. The house was restored into its original state. It hosts just 16 (but luxurious) bed rooms situated around the pool with all individual historical details.

Service is excellent with a lot of additional info on how to enjoy the city and the local food.

We booked a local guide Joanne, who showed us around the city in 3 hours, revealing many interesting historical and cultural facts. And also pointing out the best places to enjoy local food.
Breakfast is pre-ordered the day before with a small but excellent choice of items, with fresh fruit, juice and coffee or tea.

Dear Kelly Greetings from Noordin Mews! Thank you for your interest in planning to spend your holiday and birthday celebration with us at Penang. You can spend the first couple of days at Noordin Mews, explore Penang – a small island that is big on character and heritage and nonetheless a paradise for food lovers. We will definitely point you to all our favorite hawker food stall, Nyonya Restaurant, Malay Restaurant, Indian Curry House and lots other. Georgetown is extremely accessible, we will show you all the place of interest on your arrival. For the last day in Penang, personally I would recommend Batu Feringgi for you to spend a relaxing day on the beach and enjoy the cocktails and absolutely do nothing after all the walking and shopping at Georgetown . For the hotel option, you can check out Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa. This resort, have the perfect environment for you to relax and refresh! Kindly email us the date of your intended stay for us book your room. Looking forward to hear from you soon. Regards Cheryl Noordin Mews
