This hotel is a little quirky but not in a bad way, just full of character. Stunning artefacts and antiques throughout the hotel. The suites are definitely better value. The swimming pool is very small more like a ford at side of hotel, I never saw anyone use it. Breakfast was cooked to order a small but perfectly nice selection. The location is great for exploring Georgetown and plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Some of the Reception staff friendly and helpful others totally disinterested.

Recently the hotel management was change. It was no TV channel, no kids games set as per their website shown. We booked 5 bed rooms, it end up the room was with 2 level, level 1 is a small living room and level 2 is after climbing the narrow rock stairs with all the bed and the wash room locate. It was weird that the coffee making area is at the first level but the water basin to make the coffee is on the second floor, again the rock stair climbing make me tired. The breakfast..OMG, it was not in the previous review which was so delicious and so much selection. During the 2 days stayed, the so call"buffet breakfast" was only 2 main dish ( friend noodle + fried rice), 2 fried dishes ( fried sausage and fried chicken), 1 soup, 1 corn flake with milk, coffee and tea, orange soda that's all. The second day repeat the similar spread, not even single piece of bread and fruit that they were serving. The orange juice that they serve was actually the soda drink..OMG. Another weird thing is their 5 bed room's room come with 2 tiny toilet and 2 tiny bath room, anyway, we are okay for it but it might be bit small for those foreign tourist. There were the pro on this hotel, the hotel furniture, wall paint with Baba Nyonya style. It is clean and comfortable. The location is good whereby you can walk to nearby hawker center, cafe and restaurant. The road in front of hotel was so quite that you could safely park your car there. Overall, i like the hotel characteristic but not the facilities and service. It can be improve.

Hard to find location. When we called hotel, directions were utterly useless, as good as not giving us any directions. TV not working. Hair dryer not working. Floor not clean, has sand and particles. Four in our family, we were given four 500ml water bottles and were given such a hard time when we ask for just two more small bottles. C’MON LAH Doesn’t accept credit card. C’MON LAH there are many other better hotels to stay in when you’re in Penang.

We stayed at The Museum and we had a pleasant stay. We enjoyed the location, as it is central to all the sights of Georgetown. Easy walking distance to Blue Mansion, Love Lane and Chowrasta Market. There is free parking nearby, which is fantastic as this is hard to find when staying in mansion style hotels. The hotel itself is a beautiful, historic building that oozes old world charm. There is a lot of historic pieces throughout the building. The young man on reception was very bubbly and helpful and made check-in very simple. We were very happy with his customer service. The rooms are large and bedding is clean. However, rooms are starting to show signs of wear with water damage. Bathroom is not very functional, our room had 2 showers and 2 toilets inside a small bathroom. Hot water did not last very long either. We were a little disappointed on arrival to find the pool closed (and drained of water) due to covid SOPs - however another hotel we stayed in the following night the pool was open. Unfortunately, we had very disrupted sleep in this hotel. Beds are extremely creaky and turning over is very loud and would wake us up. Also we stayed at the back of the building and there a number of dogs outside barking at various times of the night. All in all it was an ok stay, however I would request a room at the front of the building to avoid the barking dogs.

Staff are friendly. Pretty good location. I was charged on the day I reserved my room in Booking.com when I requested to pay later. Do let customers know before hand on matters like this. Surprised that during this RMCO, pool is open to public. You are the first hotel we’ve been that does so. Our room with a king sized bed is very small. Bed is too near the wall. Difficult to walk about. Air condition in the room is not cold enough. Asked the front desk for help. Situation remained the same. Parking was horrendous last Saturday afternoon when we arrived. Even guests parking was full. Headache!

The staff is friendly and breakfast is excellent. The rooms are nice, however, I think they should put more effort into upgrading the bathrooms and toilets. The location of the place is good and bus stop is very close.

I booked a deluxe room with a king-size bed for 2 nights. It is a historic hotel with a unique charm and architecture. The room is small, electricity plugs are few. The floor and bed were squeaky. The wi-fi was not always working, which affected my work, as I was on a business trip. Breakfast was OK, the service not too enthusiastic, but most other staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. I love the roof-top terrace while the pool is a mini mini mini pool; I would say that the pool is rather a decoration than practical to use. The location is good, several restaurants and stores in walking distance and many interesting streets in the neighbourhood to explore the old town. The hotel offers very affordable rates, therefore excellent value for money, if you like a historic and rustic type of hotel.
