Booked for a couple of nights and than extended to 12 nights. Place is just great. Clean, tidy, cozy and modern. Check in very easy and host super friendly and always responding fast. Direct in Georgetown with shops and restaurants everywhere. Just perfect.

We were 5 friends together so we decided to get the gigantic and very clean family room. No customer was there so we had the house for ourselves for 2 days. We felt like home. There is a kitchen you can use, filtered water, 5 clean common showers with everything you need, a living room to chill and a patio as well. We were pretty close from the UNESCO site so we did everything by walk. The owner is a really nice man and he picked his phone when needed to help us (laundry, early checkin etc.) We loved staying there it was really a home away from home. Highly recommended even for a single or double room! Lovely!

The best thing about this lodging is at the corner is one of the popular and famous Penang "Koay Teow Thng ". And its location that matters most for travellers. Most of the time travellers will be wandering around George Town and the inner Heritage area, which are walkable distance from this lodging. As for the rooms , they are quite basic. Clean baths and toilets. We get our own security tag to go in and out of the place. Convenient. Good for the price we are paying.

It's cheap and I guess decent value, but: Bad points: - Average number of receptionists is less than 1 - my bed was a raised mattress on the floor (this was good for me but some might not approve) - hostel is hard to find so make sure you know its location on a map first - no breakfast and >5 minutes' walk to any decent amenities Good points: - efficient laundry service - quiet (probably because we were the only people in the hostel!) - good WiFi, shower, kitchen facilities, drinking water in the kitchen, AirCon etc. - 10 minutes' walk to Georgetown

Searching thoughout online to get a hotel, unfortunely it was public holidays & school holidays, in Penang totally no vacant room. Luckily, manage walk in Heritage Lodge, met a friendly and handsome owner, check in for a small room, shared bathroom and kitchen. The room was clean, no much facility as it is guest house. Toilet pretty satisfied, drinking water provided, most important fast WIFI available to upload my lovely pictures. The guest house design is very unique and old fashion, indeed is very fantastic as this is my first time experience it. At night time, few near by places could be visit, walking distance to Komtar and Prangin Mall, hawker food available and of course in the morning time, there is a famous Kuey Teow Teng, Hutton Lane. Overall feeling satisfied and will stay again for next available time.

i stayed here for like two months, everything is very clean and the owner is very friendly and always available for any kind of problem. Position is also very good, close to the center and two nice foodcourts. Bathrooms cleaned daily, and my room was very comfortable, with a big bed. It's possible to have a tea using the hot water in the hall, as well as filtred water.

We booked this place on the strength of good reviews we found online so maybe we just had a bad experience. We had a room booked in advance amd arrived in the evening and no one was available to check us in, which is understandable we didn't realise that there wasn't a 24 hour reception, so this is our fault. We had no phone so one of the other guests kindly phoned the owner who said they would come to let us in. About ten minutes later a guy arrived talking on his phone, he introduced himself as a guest who had been staying at the hotel and apparently the owner told him to give us our key. He seemed pretty uncomfortable with the situation and it was all a bit weird. We were given a key and then ten minutes later he knocked on our door to say the owner had asked him to collect our money. We asked for a receipt as we weren't happy to had over our cash to just some guy who 'says' the owner asked him, he then called the owner back to tell him, the owner apparently said he would come back in the morning to get the money. This seemed very unprofessional to us. The room itself was fine, clean, small box with no window so smelled a bit damp, we had odissi. Be warned it is very noisy if anyone is using the shared kitchen area. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were new and nice, best bit! Now this is the really bad bit... And maybe we were just unlucky because the room was clean, but I awoke in the night convinced that a mouse had run over my leg. Turned on the light and there were fresh mouse droppings on the bed! We searched for it but maybe it squeezed out under the door or wardrobe because we found nothing. I took photos of the droppings and we kept the mouse poo to show the owner in the morning but by 10.30 am they still hadn't showed up and we had no desire to wait so we left a note and our money. I don't know if they have done anything about the mouse because the owner never bothered to reply to my note. So that was an interesting thing experience.

Nice friendly owner. We had the Jonket room, which has twin beds; however, one mattress is on the floor (not advertised) as it's a smaller room with air-con and private bathroom. This room is above the breakfast area and as the middle of the building is open-plan, the noise carries if there is anyone talking in the kitchen. Linen, towels, and room all clean. As this room is upstairs, if people are using the shared bathrooms downstairs, you will not get any water pressure or only a trickle of water (a pain in the middle of shampooing) until they're finished. When we booked, the room included breakfast. A light breakfast of toast, biscuits, and tea is provided. However, you need to be up before 9(ish) as most/all of the bread and biscuits are gone by then and there isn't anyone around to replenish. Overall, good budget accommodation.

We checked-in this guest house for 2 days after checking-out from Penaga Hotel Penang. Reason of choosing this hotel was due to the heritage building as we understand that we wouldn't have much expectation towards a guest house and surely no comparison between hotel and guest house. A guy checked-in us with friendly smile and assist us with our luggage in a family room. The room size was average but looks clean. Yes, I would say it was clean as making comparison with some of the guest house in Penang, Heritage Lodge cleanliness was good and up to a standard as a cozy home. Breakfast was provided to us with breads and biscuits. The guy who checked-in us was able to provide us information about Penang, nearest food stalls and also some tourists interest places around. He seems like working in other hotel before as he was professional while handling us. This is one of the added point for running guest house. Upon our departure, he managed to arrange a car for us to go Airport early morning. Overall is good and we will definitely go there to stay again!
