Agree with other reviews, this is the worst "budget" hotel I have ever stayed. I included several photos that speak for themselves. I booked this hotel only because it is located near to Queensbay Mall and just opposite to the Sungai Nibong bus station in Penang (which at the time was very convenient for me as I was expecting to take a bus and go to Johor Baru area at the end of my stay in this hotel). A few words come immediately to my mind when I think about this place: Dirty, Smelly, Old.... The floor is in a really bad shape and the bed is hard as rock. The toilet makes you think that you will get a very bad skin disease just from standing there and the towels are really old. The staff is rude, speak little to none English and they really don't know how to receive the costumer. To make it worst the toilet didn't have toilet paper, when I went to ask in reception desk they told me that it wasn't included in the hotel fee... (Really!!!) and that I was supposed to buy from them. Against my will I asked them to sell me one but they did not have any available for sale... (Really!!!) and asked me to walk to a convenience store located around 10 min walk from there... Can you imagine? toilet paper might be one of the most basic supplies in any hotel no matter the type or budget... and this place wasn't able to provide even that... Please don't go, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am a business traveler that travel around SEA. But I never stayed this kind of hotel. The share toilet is terrible until I went to near by Mall toilet. For me the toilet is the most important criteria. I am not sure why the Agoda give so high rating. This hotel should be remove from the town.

It is quite expensive, RM 110 for triple room. All rooms are without private washrooms, and they did not mention this on their website. Feel like cheated. Room is super simple and dirty. Location is not good, far from Georgetown and there is nothing interesting near by.

We booked this hotel for one night after getting off a bus from Melaka. We took one look at the room which was nothing like the picture shown on Agoda. We had booked a room with an attached bathroom but on inspection it had no toilet. When we pointed this out to the guy at reception he said "attached bathroom not toilet". Taking his logic then there should had been a "bath" in the room but there was only a curtain seperating the bed from a shower sticking out of the wall and a handbasin. There was no window, which the picture showed, the staircase ( no lift )was so narrow and steep that it was impossible to negotiate with a suitcase if you met someone coming the other way. I could go on about this place forever but in short, we told the reception guy that we couldn't stay there and he could keep the money and we caught a taxi straight to Georgetown where we got a really nice hotel for not much more than what we paid at the Farin. Don't pay in advance without looking at your room first! I would never stay here.

i recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my sister through online booking 3 weeks before checking in. upon entering the room, the strong musty smell. cockroaches appeared from under the bed. the super-small TV- red screen all over-only hear sounds but couldn't be watched. dusty glass windows. the second day, my sister complained of body ache caused by her fluctuating bed which we later realized, because it lost one of its bottom pad and the hotel only used folded newspaper and inserted it beneath it! the second night the hotel moved us to another room after we told them about the bed. but the second room is much, much worst! the aircond didnt function at all and we were sweating all night! next morning informed the female staff asking her to call technician quickly, only to be scolded by her in return! she was so rude saying to me that the technician is just a human and cannot be called at 9 o'clock in the morning because that day was sunday! when i said i dont mind to change room again she said no more room available except the former one (with the broken bed)! she even asked my sister when are we gonna check out? at midnight the same day we asked to meet the general manager the next day because of the aircond not functioning. but the manager didnt show up until we checked out and we only able to reach him through phone. he said if he finds that the aircond indeed didnt function, he will return us some of our money. but when we reached airport already, he called and told us there was nothing wrong with the aircond! how come, we had such terrible times in the room & the bangladeshi technician they sent failed to fix it. when we told the manager about these, he became angry and scolded us - he said why we didnt stay in 5-star hotel? why we still stay in the hotel and didnt checked out? he even talked about his hotel has lawyers... God... there is no such thing as room service in the hotel also. the toilet situated outside, sharing with others. wi-fi cannot be used at all- extremely slow. no wardrobe or drawer at all to place clothes in both rooms we stayed in. it is indeed, worse than a basic lodge! what a terrible experience we had, and such a poor, poor, zero hospitality!

Bathroom was dirty with collective amount of hair on the drainage cover, toilet bowl n sink were dirty..i stayed here for 3days 2 nights.. The Housekeeping never exist, room was left uncleaned. The iron provided will tear off your clothes as it has paint stain on the iron's plate. Terrible experience.
