Strongly recommended for couple that prefer a relaxing hotel. The hotel is well located at the central and it is accessible to go to most of the places. The room is clean and staff are friendly. For those who like dessert can try their chocolate muffin with rum and raisin ice cream, it is awesome!:)

Ren i Tang is located in the Heritage Zone of Georgetown. This three storey building was formerly a Chinese medical hall. Staying here gives you an excellent opportunity to explore this heritage city and taste the various street food it has to offer. This boutique concept hotel exudes charm and it gives you the feel of olden days Penang. The...

The rooms and the house are amazing but the service and other amenities are lacking. Our room was excellent. Very nicely decorated. Excellent bathtub and shower. However, they did not provide any toiletries beyond shampoo and body wash, both of which were bolted to the wall as they are in hostels. Breakfast was also more akin to a budget hotel...

The concept of a boutique hotel made in what was once a Chinese spice-shop is unique and so interesting. The building looks good and is intersting to stay in and look at. The employees are helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is basic but good a tasty. The rooms are very basic but clean. Lovely shower gel in the bathroom. I...

We booked a large bedroom with wooden bathtub and street view-we loved it. Street noise which we expected and found interesting. The property is in Little India and the street sounds and smells reflect this. Charming staff quickly helped us pinpoint places to visit and a whole range of eating options. The location is so central for all the George...

Room / Number of Night Stayed - Tub room / 1 night First Impression / Check-in - The kind of excitement and curiosity you get when you are going to stay in a building once housed a Chinese medical hall some 100 years ago! Check-in was quick and fuss-free. We had to remove our shoes before going up the stairs...

I fell in love with Ren i Tang and Georgetown. I travel extensively and I've never been so enchanted by a guesthouse. It is like staying in a museum and the charm is incredible. Perfectly located and most excellent service. I would move in if I could...lol!

A really interesting renovation of an old Chinese building, spotlessly clean large rooms, welcoming and helpful staff and a very enjoyable eating area. It is not the E&O but far more intimate (~20 rooms), interesting and central to everything in Georgetown. Do spend some time in the small on site "museum" showing the building's 200 year history. Do not be...

“We had a family room which meant two rooms - a large room with plenty of space and chairs and a table plus a smaller room towards the back. The main room had shutters opening out on the the busy street below - fantastic for watching the world go round. But then shut up tight at night to ensure no noise. Perfect.”
