I fell in love with Ren i Tang and Georgetown. I travel extensively and I've never been so enchanted by a guesthouse. It is like staying in a museum and the charm is incredible. Perfectly located and most excellent service. I would move in if I could...lol!

A really interesting renovation of an old Chinese building, spotlessly clean large rooms, welcoming and helpful staff and a very enjoyable eating area. It is not the E&O but far more intimate (~20 rooms), interesting and central to everything in Georgetown. Do spend some time in the small on site "museum" showing the building's 200 year history. Do not be...

Uma and Teng provide us with a lot of tips; from nice shops to the best place to eat banana leaf meals :-) Perfect location, very central and a 5min walk to bus terminal (buses take you very easily to the main attractions) Very friendly, welcoming...

I only stayed one night in the China Room. You have to climb up/down two flights of steep stairs to gain access to the room. Room is generous in proportion and it faces the side road. You can hear the sounds of the street below, so if you need peace and quiet, it's best you ask for a quieter room....

The girls who run this boutique hotel are just lovely and could not do enough for us during our 5 day stay. After our western style breakfast, they offered us a different culinary delight every morning. From Roti Canai to their own homemade Popiah, for which we were their enthusiastic guinea pigs. They even offered for us to join them...

I loved my stay in Little India and I would recommend Ren I Tang to anyone looking to stay in a character property situated centrally with bags of atmosphere. It's a great base from which to explore George Town and I thought it was great value for money. The room at Ren I Tang was very nice. Good aircon, quiet,...
