The hotel is well appointed yet retains its old world charm. The owners and staff were all helpful and extremely friendly and flexible in meeting our group's various requests. Food is good....make sure you try the laksa which is a Penang favourite. Situated in Little India, there is lots to do and see. And many tourist attractions are within walking...

An amazing little boutique hotel that is totally undervalued and undiscovered ! Recently opened in Penang Island it is located in Little India , I love the simplicity and its extremely friendly and homely ambience. One feels totally relaxed and comfortable. The rooms are amazingly very reasonable priced. Very clean and uniquely decorated with old Penang heritage collectibles. The coffee...

Just back from spending three nights at Ren I Tang with partner. Booked corner room in advance. The hotel is located in an old heritage building - that still carries much of the charm of its previous use although it has been extensively renovated. The hotel is located in an absurdly convenient location in relation to most of the major...

Ren I Tang helped make our Penang experience our best stop in Malaysia. Karen, one of the owners, helped us with suggestions on what to visit, how to get there, and what to do for fun. She was so helpful and made sure we were more than comfortable staying there. The rooms and overall ambiance were perfect being renovated from...

My friends and I stay just a five hour drive away from Penang and the hectic city life had drained but every ounce of our energy. It was a sudden decision to just up and head north towards good food and soak in some culture and we had no idea where to stay. Imagine our utter delight in chancing upon...

Yet another last minute trip for our family of 3, this time to avoid the terrible haze that clouded Singapore. We decided to join our friends in Penang but were unable to get a room at the same hotel. A friend who was recently working in Penang recommended that we try this new B&B that was converted from an old...

My friends and I stayed last weekend. The rooms are simple and interesting but not for the aged or infirm. The staircases are quite difficult to negotiate especially if you are not so sprightly. The cuisine and catering arrangements are "work in progress". The staff/owners are friendly but obviously lack experience in hospitality. They try hard and hopefully will "make"...

I found this treasure by accident. According to the hotel operator Karen this building used to be the first traditional Chinese medicine (tcm) shop in this region and now it has been partially converted into a hotel wt a cafe at the ground floor. Soon they will also have a mini tcm museum in front for the hotel, opens to...
