We stayed in this hotel for two nights while in Penang. The location is great with a lot of the street art attractions scattered in walking distance to the hotel. The hotel room was rather basic, but was overall relatively clean. Noise from surrounding rooms was loud through the walls. Our TV did not work but this did not impact us during the short stay. Breakfast was included in our stay, this was on the rooftop and was nice but simple. Bottled water was provided daily, but fresh towels were not provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, and provided luggage storage.

Centrally located in the heritage district of Penang; this hotel has comfortable and spacious rooms. They are clean and well-kept. The breakfast was offered in a small café downstairs which we did not opt for. When in Penang, every food eaten should be from the many road-side restaurants and kiosks offering delicious options.
The reception offers convenient pick-up and drop service to the airport.

There were so many murals on the street with story behind it. It was inspiring and getting to know more about the town. I had some great food along the street with my friends. You can rent a bicycle or ride trishaw around the streets for more convenience.

The check-in time is at 3pm. I arrived at 6pm and my room was still NOT ready and I was asked to wait for another 15 minutes before they can clean it up. When i went into the room, the bedsheets felt used, uncleaned and the floor was certainly dusty and the TV was also not working properly as the reception was very bad. After a long journey, I was too exhausted to go down to the reception again. The next day, i had to leave early at 7am for appointment and i specifically asked the receptionist to arranged for my room to be cleaned again explaining to them that i am asthmatic and having been sneezing the whole night. When i returned to hotel at 4.30pm... guess what, they still have NOT cleaned my room at all and the receptionist conveniently explained that the hotel is short of staff. This HOTEL compromise on cleanliness and do not care about their customers. I packed my things and left the hotel immediately. I certainly was not prepared to stay another night at the Armenian Heritage Hotel.

The room photos looks good on the website, but its very deceiving because the furnitures are old and stained too.

This place is really nothing special, but with various criticalities to be solved.
The room was initially very smelly, probably cause it has been closed so long.
The aircon filter was really very dirty: it should be cleaned periodically! Also, haircon wasn't working well.
For a 2 ppl room they only give you one key (!!!) to open the door, as they say not to have a second key. This is not acceptable!
They charge 100rm for loosing the key... Way too much, not even if it was a golden key!! Luckily I haven't lost mine Eheh, but still I felt they wanna get money from you.
Also, the rooftop which could be an amazing place to socialize is not really used, as there is no bar and no great vibe. Overall, I won't return here.

You can find the bare minimum for your stay here. Wifi is working fine. Bed was comfortable. However, sink took sometime to drain. Parking is available but limited but there are metered parking around. You can also rent a segway / electric motor from a shop nearby to travel around.

Good access to Armenian street food and attractions.

Got a shock to receive a room with this decorated flooring. And i checked in about 5pm (which is quite late so its enough time to do a thorough cleaning).😓
On top of that having a Yellowish pillow without pillow case is just cherry on the cake.

Stayed two rooms on 23 Feb 2020z
Room keys didn’t work twice , bed was allocated wrong , I had to go down three times to the reception.
One of the room’s sink was broken and the bathroom was like a pool , I wonder why no one checked the rooms !
I asked them to do something , they made me wait for an hour and then When I made. Big drama then said , we will change your room
Terrible place

Overall a nice experience. A nice character heritage place, but one of the front desk ladies who attended to us was a bit rude. Instead of politely telling us to wait for our room, she instructed us to wait for our room. She allocated parking space no.1 which was the furthest n the most difficult to park whilst there were still so many n easier to reach parking spaces available. Very disappointing indeed.

Strategic location. Comfortable n clean room. The room Towels smelt quite badly. Breakfast at rooftop with a nice view. But dishes were limited. Food tasted so so only. No half boiled eggs. There were some unsightly wooden planks laying around at the rooftop. This is off-putting.

We were charged an extra heritage fee of rm4/-

It is a secure open non covered parking just right behind the property and need to obtain a electronic pass/card from the reception counter before entering to the parking.
