This hotel's location is strategic, close to everything in the center of George Town. The bus shuttle is only across the street and the food heaven is only walking distance. Bad things were smelly room but once you turned on the aircon, the bad odor will be gone and it is an old hotel. Bed was okay, hot and cold shower available. Internet was in good speed.

Wasn’t overly impressed when we booked the photos looked great, but when we got here the reality was less than favorable, The room smelt like cigarette smoke, and the carpet on the floor was old and dirty looking, and wifi was hopeless, we have been on holidays for three weeks traveling through Cambodia,Thailand, and at the moment Penang.

The hotel was clean, reasonably priced and in a good location at city center with a lot of mamak restaurant and convenient store. Room is basic and clean, no problem with the Air-Cond, water dispenser is available outside if you need hot or cold water. Not much amenities. Just to sleep. Don't expect more. If you drive, the parking was provided at the front of the hotel with deposit of RM100.

The location is excellent. A shuttle bus will drop you there from the pier. The "food paradise" market is literally the next street. Hotel in the middle of city ..easy access for public transport and food ..highly recommended and the room is clean. Overall pleasant stay, perfect location in Georgetown. Car park provided upon check in located opposite the hotel. Air condition worked fine, as with the hot shower with good water pressure, ample plug points, comfy mattress and pillow, TV available though limited channels, hot/cold water dispenser available just outside the room, complimentary sachets of coffee/tea provided. Location is great, smack on Penang Road close to food, bus stops, attractions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall a good budget hotel, had a pleasant stay.

Had my Visa Run and the company I coordinated to is affiliated with this hotel where we stayed for 1 night. I guess 3/4 of the guests who stayed here have the same reason as I am. As part of the package, food was included and we were given 4 coupons for our entire stay, the restaurant is just right beside the lobby. Food was great except for the breakfast. Room size is good, I have 2 big beds, a private bathroom, a small desk, a fan, an air-condition, a heater that works well and a television. Room rates are worthy for low budget travelers. Location wise, it is accessible to everything, a family mart across the road, some restaurants and other more. The bad things were, bed was quite itchy, probably the bed bugs were the cause of it and the room has only two outlets located on the desk far from the bed. Nevertheless, I will still consider it as a good overnight stay.

The hotel has great location in the heart of Penang island in George town. You can find many hawker street, foods, points of attraction and stores for your need. But don't expect for services and facilities because rooms and facilities were old ones , service from front desk was standard (if I could say not good). Overall for leisure and holiday, the hotel is recommended for family vacation, just for sleep, worth as we pay (low budget)

If you travel to this hotel through online taxi such as Grab, careful of not entering the wrong destination. Apparently, it isnt the only Grand Inn hotel in Penang island and the other Grand Inn belongs to the same group too. Walking distance to plenty of hawkers around the area. Within the same block to the reknown soup hameed, red garden hawker center and several convenience stores around the hotel area. My room was not that great in terms of amenities, size and the toiletries. It has a water-filtered dispenser connected to the tap on the hallway for those who trust the filter (some guests with sensitive stomach or worries could get a bottled mineral water from nearby convenience stores) Its probably just me being sensitive and all but i felt itchy sleeping overnight, specially my head/hair. Staffs are friendly and helpful. This hotel also provide parking space on an empty lots across the hotel (but limited to only several spaces with first come first serve policy).

This hotel seemed OK at first but after one night sleep I was bitten alive! I counted 9 bites in total on both my legs! Others staying said that they too thought that they had seen bed bugs. It's a shame as staff are nice but the beds really need replacing.

We had a family room on a lower floor, sharing with friends. The room was a reasonable size although could have done with a bit more space to store our luggage. The room and bathroom were clean and serviced daily, although there was sometimes a smell from the drain in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and the hotel is located walking distance to the free bus stop and walking distance from popular places such as Love Lane. My only issue was one morning we were woken up quite early to the sound of drilling. It was very loud and startled us awake. Our friend went to reception and was told nothing could be done about it as it was next door. Turns out that part of the hotel is above a restaurant and on this particular morning they were drilling in the ceiling under the floor of our room.
