We has a club room on the 15th floor to give us just a little more pleasure to our visit . All of the staff at the hotel were very attentive with a special mention for Harvender Kaur , Banum Idris who made our evenings in the lounge very enjoyable , they both made a superb Gin & Tonic . We also mention waitress "Olive Oil and chef O O T W " Not sure what hotel Kang was staying at but we found nothing too much trouble for the staff , the breakfast buffet was vast covering Chinese , Indian and European food , endless juices , coffee and tea , fruit ,cakes and even sweets for the kids . Almost attached to the hotel is the Gurney Plaza Shopping Mall which offers good value for your money , the food hall is clean and serves good quality food at reasonable prices with a supermarket on hand for your take away needs . Finally we mention the room cleaning staff who were always on hand as we had our breakfast , the mini bar was re stocked each morning with another visit P M to ask if you needed anymore towels or stock for the fridge . Overall a very enjoyable stay which we may well repeat in the near future

G Hotelis located in the heart of Penang. Despite its age ( 12 or 13 years old ) the hotel looks GREAT and very modern. Strict Heath screening at entrance. I read a lot of ( good ) comments on tripadivosr about this hotel and I miust say that I agree 100% with them. We have been upgraded to a suite for our stay : great suite, with massive & pleasant bathroom, great bed room and a very pleasant living room. All in prestine condition, not at all looking oldish or aged. Breakfast was complimentary ( a la carte ) Free parking The hotel is greatly located in between 2 malls, and facing the sea. There is a Starbucks/ Mc Do / Mefcato grocery.... just 1 min walk from hotel. Plenty of local food nearby also.
To make a long story short : been a frequant traveler, and been very perticular about oldish hotel rooms ( that I hate ), G Hotel is really a great -great value stay.
Dont look any where else !

After lockdown promo is great. Booked the XL suite and executive suite. There are two walking distance malls, Gurney plaza & gurney paragon and not forgetting the gurney drive famous eatery place. The open lobby is airy and the customer service team is always friendly and approachable. Our XL suite is so spacious that it could accommodate 4 adults and 1 child. It even has a living area. Most of the famous nasi kandar restaurants are also within 5 km radius.overall I would say g hotel is very convenient for those who love shopping and dining.

The G Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Penang. The location, accommodations and service is exceptional! I love the food as well. Jason is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He helped make sure my stay was excellent by ensuring I had no problems and helped arrange cars for me, determine tourist activities to do, and helped me select restaurants. Not only did he make my stay in Penang perfect, he gave feedback to help prepare for my trip to Langkawi so I knew where to go and what to do. I work an hour from G Hotel but will continue staying there on each trip because of the amazing service and accommodations! Thank you Jason and G Hotel!

Domestic tourism and interstate travel are now allowed in Malaysia. So we took a business trip from KL to Penang & stayed in the G. The hotel had only reopened a few guest floors and the pool & gym were shut in line with Govt directions.
Notwithstanding, the rooms were well-prepared & clean and comfortable. The upgrade to a suite was a nice touch.
Not so good was breakfast. Which was a shambles. The poached eggs ordered were almost raw; the restaurant staff were clueless & impolite. Management needs to train these people how to provide customer service; because currently they are incompetent.
Overall, considering the non availability of so many facilities, the overnight rate is ridiculously high. But that’s the case all over Malaysia; not just at the G. Value for money it is not.

I decided to stay at G Hotel while doing some Raya shopping at the Gurney Plaza. Other than location, there is nothing special about this hotel. Even though they have done some renovation but the toilet design is old. The shower head is not adjustable and no flexible shower hose. Their Sahur selection is poor and limited. They just provided 2 meals for each 2 person and they are calculative when I was asking to have hot chocolate drinks and cut fruits. They do charge same rate for the buffet breakfast so I don’t understand why they cannot provide the drinks and fruits. The cost is negligible considering how much they charged per person for the breakfast. Overall, overpriced and overrated.

Our stay at the Penang hotel was absolutely excellent. The young, polite and friendly staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel right at home. Absolutely everyone was lovely and we want to thank you all. Big thanks especially for the smiles every morning from the breakfast staff and the welcome from the executive lounge. This team is motivated to really look after their guests.
The breakfast buffet was a real treat, offering a variety of delicious options each morning. Gorgeous floor to ceiling views and really spacious. The food here is great with lunch, afternoon tea and dinner also available. The fridge mini bar in our room was free for soft drinks and snacks. We also used the executive lounge on the 15th floor several times getting a smiling welcome anytime free soft drinks teas and coffee during the day. In the evening there were free canapés and drinks also. We were delighted with all these free extras as most other hotels charge. The rooftop terrace at the sister hotel was also a delightful surprise, offering stunning views of the sunset along with complimentary wine and snacks. Make sure you get to see a sunset here.
One of the big highlights for us was the hotel's proximity to two large shopping malls. I spent a whole day checking out the stores in cool air-conditioning when it was so hot l wanted a break from sightseeing. We loved the location as it was so convenient to have access to a huge range of dining options in the evenings from a high-end Michelin-starred restaurant to quaint bakeries serving delightful pastries and mini pizzas. Main tourist area is ten minutes in a Grab cab. Area near hotel is tree lined and quiet with some lovely houses and a few gated community apartment buildings.
The stunning and quiet pool area was another highlight of our stay, providing a relaxing oasis after a day of sightseeing, its spotless with clean towels readily available whenever needed. Never a problem getting a sun bed. Bar is gorgeous, modern comfortable and beautiful lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Beds are really comfy with a pillow menu. Bathroom is bright and modern. Room has coffee facilities good iron and board free minibar and is spacious
My husband has stayed in Penang for work many times and we have both stayed in another top Penang hotel together but this hotel is the one we would choose every time.

I had an amazing 3N anniversary stay. The hotel exceeded my expectations; not only giving me a seaview room as requested but it was beautifully decorated with fresh rose petals on the bed and a cake was delivered to my room in the afternoon. I really appreciate the hotel's efforts in making my anniversary stay a memorable one. The hotel is just beside Gurney Plaza so convenient to get any necessities. Grab drivers reached within 5 minutes! The room is so spacious. The king-sized bed is so comfortable. There is a pillow selection menu too! The canned drinks and chocolate in the fridge is complimentary. I felt like I was in a spa when I used the lemongrass scented shower and handwash gel, so therapeutic after a tiring day exploring Penang.😁 I have recommended this hotel to my friends and relatives.

Our family stayed in the XL suite for 6 nights. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. Our room was large… basically, a one bedroom suite attached to another hotel room. The only issue was the layout which meant the occupants of the attached hotel room (second bedroom) had to walk through the master bedroom of the 1 bedroom suite to reach the common living room. The beds were comfortable and water pressure was great. The bathrooms were a looking a little tired but all clean and functional. Wi fi was speedy and TV had good range of options. The complimentary mini bar was a nice add-on but really, it’s just a Kit Kat, one tiny packet of M and Ms, and two canned drinks. Nothing to get too excited about. Lounge access on the executive floor is worthy of a mention. Nice view, with great nibbles in the evening. Highly recommended!
We had breakfast buffet included and it had a nice range of foods. It can get rather busy on the weekends so I enjoyed the weekday breakfast more. We also had one dinner at the hotel restaurant. The service was lovely but food came out very slowly. I ordered the ravioli and was starving by the time it came out. It was very gourmet and looked and tasted great but alas, the quantity of 6 raviolis was more suitable for an entree than a main so I needed to go and have a second meal afterwards. Perhaps, the restaurant can offer an entree and main course option in the future so as not to disappoint.
The fitness centre had good machines but the poor air con in the room let it down. It was very hard to do serious exercise when it was so hot in the room. However, the swimming pool was a highlight and we had some great times relaxing and exercising there. I did notice two of the pool lights on the walls were displaced underwater so management should fix this as it could be a hazard to guests.
The best thing about this hotel was the location, right next door to Gurney Plaza with its massive array of shops and food outlets. It was also a short 5 min walk to Gurney Paragon, another mall with slightly higher end shops compared to Gurney Plaza. Excellent for families who have an assortment of keen and not-so-keen shoppers!
I wouldn’t be choosing this hotel for the view as currently, there is a huge area of muddy flats in front of the hotel on the waterside where building on reclaimed land is due to take place in the next few years. Choose this hotel instead for its proximity to shopping, comfortable rooms and nice pool!

We stayed at G Hotel last year and decided to stay here again this time. The main reason we chose this hotel is its convenient location, close to the mall and various eateries. We arrived late in the evening to check in, and although I forgot her name, the front desk staff member was friendly and efficient, even serving us our favorite welcome ice cream. I was so impressed with the “Welcome Back” greeting from the staff—it made us feel right at home! We immediately went to our room on the 11th floor, and everything was excellent. The amenities in both the bathroom and room were top-notch, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the cleanliness was impeccable with no defects. Our room package did not include breakfast, but the front desk staff mentioned we could enjoy it at a special rate of MYR30 per person. We ended up having breakfast there for two days, and on the first day, we even invited a friend to join us, who was also very happy with the experience. During our stay, the waitress Dayang, who always had a smile on her face, was very friendly, helpful, and energetic. The food varieties are satisfactory, but your Nescafé Tarik is super awesome! The night before we checked out, we went for a walk along Gurney Drive and approached your concierge team to borrow an umbrella because it was raining. Ganeson, who was on duty, promptly assisted us in a friendly manner and had us sign the tracking form, which we fully understood as part of the hotel policy. What surprised us that evening was when we came back and stopped by the smoking area for a smoke. He saw us and approached to collect the two umbrellas himself—very proactive! We were just thinking of returning them ourselves later. On our departure day, we requested a late check-out, which was granted by the front desk team. We understood this was subject to availability and accepted the additional cost. With a heavy heart, we had to end our short trip, but we want to let you know that G Hotel will be our top choice for our next visit.
