This is a very basic property, so I don't really understand how it could get a Certificate of Excellence. It's true that the building is a heritage shophouse, but in bad shape, badly refurbished and full of old furniture (mind you, not "antique" furniture: just old, battered, common furniture). No TV in the rooms, not enough hot water, no room cleaning service (no curtains in the shower either, so you are doomed to live in a pond during your stay, because they won't clean unless you request it). Bed linen and towels are clean, but look very old, stained and worn. In the other hand, wi-fi was good the air conditioned worked very well, and the location is very good, close to Armenian Street and the Butterworth ferry. It's a very inexpensive hotel, but you may find better in Penang…
A bit difficult to find. Create some noise when walking on the wooden plank. Very steep wooden stair. Wonderful staff, fantastic ambiance, stand-alone bathtub and easy walking distance to most attraction.
The place was absolutely lovely. I was in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom. Although I was sceptical about the shared bathroom at first, it was actually nice. The room is on two levels, the bed being on the attic-like upper level. The stairs to the bed are steep and narrow, though, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't agile. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough, and there were two little chairs to lounge in. The room has wifi, but it disconnects the moment you step out of the room, even to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is quite spacious and nice, as well. The staff is lovely, and make you feel quite at home. Although they don't serve any meals, there is a functional kitchen at your disposal. The best part of the stay was how everything that…
If you want to escape to the cozy, nice, stylish place you must be here! It something different, but so lovely and special! It was our best stay during our travel in Malaysia.Good price, clean room and bathroom, kind helpful owner. He stored our luggage after check out until our leaving. Free coffee, tea, drinking water- self bar. You can use toaster, microwave, hairdryer. Again in Georgetown? Definitely here! Thank you Lang Hoose.
If you’re looking for an urban scape, this is not for you. This property is full of the signs of times. It is kept in its original facade where it still remains a prewar historical building where it has a long area from the front. Every part of the house is different in which it has the living, dining and open area where natural sunlight penetrates in the morning. If you’re looking for a traditional architecture and loads of antique, this is your choice. This property has kept so many things from the childhood and antique that you will be amazed when you see them. If you’re a tennis enthusiast, you might want to consider this too. Why? You’ll know when you choose to stay with them.
me and my friend check in at midnight, and the staff still very kindness and helpful, the environment was really nice, cozy and quiet, me and my friend were very enjoy to stay there. highly recommended.

Loved staying here! Super lovely and very helpful staff and mesmerising Nyonya architecture. It felt like staying at an historical(modernized) Nyonya house really. I would like to go back to Lang Hoose. I strongly recommend this place to all.
Never stay here! The owner is a crooked man! I booked a room for three people for two nights. I told the owner the exact time we would arrive, and he asked me to ring him after I arrived at Penang airport. However, he completely ignored my numerous phone calls and messages! We ended up standing in front of Lang Hoose for nearly one hour! No one came! I even asked his neighbour to ring him multiple times! Called all the three numbers provided in his whatsapp image and the notice on the door! My husband ran through the nearby area for more than 30 min trying to find another hotel, but all hotels were full. I used the booking app to find another place. It was the same. Hotels that had available rooms were at least 4km away. In the end I managed to book online the last available…
I love the vibe of this place. Well maintained and rennovated old house. There is a collection old stuff too from sports to cameras displayed in their lobby. We booked here through Airbnb for 3 pax for an affordable price. Our room is clean and nice. The only thing is there are flyin’ insects(ants?) at night. lol. But there is an anti-insect gadget available in the room. Just turn it on and they will eventually disappear. I suggest you turn it on before dark so you can prevent them from coming out. :)
