This is a very basic property, so I don't really understand how it could get a Certificate of Excellence. It's true that the building is a heritage shophouse, but in bad shape, badly refurbished and full of old furniture (mind you, not "antique" furniture: just old, battered, common furniture). No TV in the rooms, not enough hot water, no room cleaning service (no curtains in the shower either, so you are doomed to live in a pond during your stay, because they won't clean unless you request it). Bed linen and towels are clean, but look very old, stained and worn. In the other hand, wi-fi was good the air conditioned worked very well, and the location is very good, close to Armenian Street and the Butterworth ferry. It's a very inexpensive hotel, but you may find better in Penang

Hi alfcr, Thank you for the review and rating. We appreciate your feedback for these. Just to update you that for the room cleaning, we will only enter your room with your permission as majority guest all need privacy. This heritage house do not comes with TV and you need to check your booking under amenities before purchasing with us. That is why we gave a good Wifi over here. For the hot water, we are using the best quality heater and we do service every month and checked it personally its working well. The maximum heating we encounter was 99 degrees which is in good condition. About the price, we already marked the cheapest among others. We hope next time you choose a place for stay, please do a review and read from majority. We have already provide the best what we can from our end and hope you have a good stay while you were here. A bit difficult to find. Create some noise when walking on the wooden plank. Very steep wooden stair. Wonderful staff, fantastic ambiance, stand-alone bathtub and easy walking distance to most attraction.

The place was absolutely lovely. I was in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom. Although I was sceptical about the shared bathroom at first, it was actually nice. The room is on two levels, the bed being on the attic-like upper level. The stairs to the bed are steep and narrow, though, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't agile. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough, and there were two little chairs to lounge in. The room has wifi, but it disconnects the moment you step out of the room, even to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is quite spacious and nice, as well. The staff is lovely, and make you feel quite at home. Although they don't serve any meals, there is a functional kitchen at your disposal. The best part of the stay was how everything that

If you’re looking for an urban scape, this is not for you. This property is full of the signs of times. It is kept in its original facade where it still remains a prewar historical building where it has a long area from the front. Every part of the house is different in which it has the living, dining and open area where natural sunlight penetrates in the morning. If you’re looking for a traditional architecture and loads of antique, this is your choice. This property has kept so many things from the childhood and antique that you will be amazed when you see them. If you’re a tennis enthusiast, you might want to consider this too. Why? You’ll know when you choose to stay with them.
