very lively cozy place, the feel and style of colorful and retro are just right for the place and it very near to the town that you can connect to much more heritage and sightseeing, even they look old but they are really clean. the hotel that very strong at their style, recommend for visit for anyone travel for the first time.
Simple, clean and basic room with basic toiletries but comfortable. This old building with wooden floor and staircase can be noisy while walking around the room and climbing the staircase, due to poor sound proof, there is no TV in the room except one in the lobby where it also serve as a cafe. It is in the quiet side of busy heritage area, walking distance to heritage landmark, temples, mosque, mural painting, food heaven, 10 minutes walk to the jetty and bus station where you take the free city area transit (CAT bus) to Komtar for shopping and food.
We stayed at Lang Hoose for one day at the end of our vacation since we had to catch an early flight. For what we paid, this was great value! The hotel is located slightly away from the hustle and bustle on a quiet street. But still close enough to everything that you won't think twice about going out to buy snacks etc. The lobby and rooftop terraces have the most lovely vintage decoration. I was in love with their collection of typewriters, cameras, sewing machines etc. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We booked a car to and fro the airport. The driver was one of the staff and we had an interesting chat in the car. The rooms are also clean and comfortable. The only watch out is that we had a room on the second floor opening onto the courtyard. During the day, the…
If you are looking for a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle, Lang Hoose seems to be ideal! I stayed for 2 nights, supposedly in the room at the attic with shared bathroom. It was tiny but looked super cosy. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with the lights and I had to move downstairs to one with less character but an attached bathroom at no extra charges. Thanks boss! Reception is only available at limited timing - 12pm to 5pm. So works well if you can arrive during this time. Wifi is available but not that great in the rooms. Room is clean and bathroom shower is great as well. Not sure if the staff stays in the hotel overnight but will be good to have someone available for any sudden needs/requests. The only lacking thing is a social common area for guests to…
I spent a few nights here. The owners/operators are very nice and helpful. My room was nothing fancy, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Within walking distance of lots of cool stuff in George Town.
I stayed for 2 night at Lang and it's feels like home. the location is perfect to explore Penang and hunting the street mural. the room is cozy with nice decoration and the staff are friendly. bathroom is clean and the hot water are good.
If you are looking to explore old town this is the place to stay. Very friendly staff who will go an extra mile to help and guide you. Also it is very close to many eateries (for vegetarians please dont worry you can always ask them to customize you food.) Only Con to this place is, it is not sound proof. You can hear people talking, walking etc. If you can live with that just go for it.
A really nice place in a good location. Couldn't have asked for better: Room was nicely decorated. Bathroom and shower was good. Breakfast was fab and coffee was amazing. My only criticism is the noise. The floors are thin and wooden so you hear footsteps above. When we stayed we kept awake during the nights with constant walking around above us. Maybe ask to stay on the second floor to prevent this.
We stayed 3 nights at Lang Hoose during Chinese New Year. Wooden floor create a very noisy environment in the room especially people who residence on our top floor are kids and some adults that quarrelling a lot. Our neighbours talk until 2:30am and we could hear every single words of their conversations. In the afternoon while staff doing cleaning on the upper room, we could hear it very loudly from our room too. Overall it is a clean place to stay that good for value of money.
This place feels like home; we got a warm welcome from Chu, Sara and Guci with lots of explanations on the city, places to eat and things to visit. The place is well maintained, and has a lot of character , congrats to the managers! Its close to the sights but in a quiet street; and if you want to relax after a long day of tourism, you can get a great massage at the hotel, definitely a plus!
