Good location. It’s right at the center street in George town so you can walk easily to street arts, museums and food courts. The decor is beautiful and unique. Space room with window and street view is very nice. I really love the ceiling fan. Totally an excellent choice to stay in the town with good price ♥️
About 10 minutes walk from the ferry and bus terminal. My room was one level up and facing the street. Some people might be disturbed by the traffic noise at night but there are rooms that are further back in the building. Comfortable bed, good aircon, great WiFi and a decent fridge. The manager was very helpful. There are some steep stairs so if you have heavy luggage you might want to mention that when booking. Ticked all of the boxes for me.
A decent place to stay at, nothing to rave about. Ok considering how cheap it is. Note: 1. Nice staff 2. Very steep staircase, to the point of being almost vertical. 3. A constantly wet (private) bathroom as there are no curtains around the shower area. 4. Used cotton buds found on the floor of room, rusty hairpin found under the blankets of a bed. 5. No breakfast served (to be expected), coffee and tea at the counter. 6. Wifi not great on phones, works well on laptops. All in all, lower your expectations and it'll be a decent place to stay at.
I was being skeptical towards this place due to its photos and location that I thought was far from the main places in Georgetown, but I was wrong. I went to Georgetown from Kuala Lumpur for a short escape, and if you travel there to Butterworth, Penang and then continue with the ferry, the Ferry Terminal is quite close with Lang Hoose. The receptionist is nice, they are super helpful and the place itself is comfortable for me and my family. We were in the Family Room with two floors, it was a great experience considering that the living room was downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs. There was no TV but, who does watch TV nowadays right? You got a Wi-Fi which is moderate, not pretty fast. But in conclusion, the place is quite worth to pay.
Stayed in Family Room with attached bathroom & access to rooftop public area. The guesthouse environment is cool, for those who like selfie or Instagramer, this would be a good hotel for you. tips, next door is a hidden bar for you to chill out. 5mins walk to armenian street
This is a very basic property, so I don't really understand how it could get a Certificate of Excellence. It's true that the building is a heritage shophouse, but in bad shape, badly refurbished and full of old furniture (mind you, not "antique" furniture: just old, battered, common furniture). No TV in the rooms, not enough hot water, no room cleaning service (no curtains in the shower either, so you are doomed to live in a pond during your stay, because they won't clean unless you request it). Bed linen and towels are clean, but look very old, stained and worn. In the other hand, wi-fi was good the air conditioned worked very well, and the location is very good, close to Armenian Street and the Butterworth ferry. It's a very inexpensive hotel, but you may find better in Penang…
A bit difficult to find. Create some noise when walking on the wooden plank. Very steep wooden stair. Wonderful staff, fantastic ambiance, stand-alone bathtub and easy walking distance to most attraction.
The place was absolutely lovely. I was in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom. Although I was sceptical about the shared bathroom at first, it was actually nice. The room is on two levels, the bed being on the attic-like upper level. The stairs to the bed are steep and narrow, though, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't agile. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough, and there were two little chairs to lounge in. The room has wifi, but it disconnects the moment you step out of the room, even to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is quite spacious and nice, as well. The staff is lovely, and make you feel quite at home. Although they don't serve any meals, there is a functional kitchen at your disposal. The best part of the stay was how everything that…
If you want to escape to the cozy, nice, stylish place you must be here! It something different, but so lovely and special! It was our best stay during our travel in Malaysia.Good price, clean room and bathroom, kind helpful owner. He stored our luggage after check out until our leaving. Free coffee, tea, drinking water- self bar. You can use toaster, microwave, hairdryer. Again in Georgetown? Definitely here! Thank you Lang Hoose.

It is kept in its original facade where it still remains a prewar historical building where it has a long area from the front. Every part of the house is different in which it has the living, dining and open area where natural sunlight penetrates in the morning.
