Stayed here twice in dorm room (downstairs 6 bed room). Perfect place to stay. Great staff they try to meet your every need and they give great advice. Special recognition to miss Shelia very helpful. Recommend staying here great central location.

Stayed at Rope Walk guest house for Lunar New Year break.. Was very central and easy to walk everywhere around George Town.. Guest house staff were very friendly amd Sheila was particularly helpful and knowledgeable of area and attractions.. The guest house was clean but this is not luxury accomodation.. shared bathrooms were washed out daily.. free drinking water supplied.. a bit of noise travel.. overall a good place and would stay again..

Stayed for 4 days (3 nights) and enjoyed it very much! The price is definitely worth it and the workers are really nice. I really liked the homely feel and aesthetic of the place. The bathrooms could be slightly improved on but otherwise, everything is perfect!

Rope Walk Staff were so hospitable and friendly. The place had a really great atmosphere to it as well. Positioned great in walking distance to everywhere but not in the dead centre. Would definitely recommend to any backpackers or travelers visiting Penang !

Excellent place! Friendly staff, all amenities nearby, comfortable rooms and a subscription reception. Even the necons are pretty here. Great place for 1-2 nights for tourist wanderers. I recommend it with pleasure!

Absolutely value for money. The beds are comfy and the cafe is really nice. However there is just 1 person working in the morning which means he has to make all coffees and bake all eggs for everyone in the hostel which takes forever. Also, after 12:00 you can’t get anything to eat, not even fruit, a pastry or french fries or whatever. I think this a missed chance for the owners. Wifi is slow but the rest is all fine. You can rent bikes, do laundry and they help you with booking busses etc. I would come back here.

We took a bunk bed room that was small but really comfortable! The bed and blanket were very clean and comfy, felt so good to have a good night sleep after a long night in the bus to arrive in Penang. Yoyo was there to welcome us and to help us with our plan to visit the town, incredibly nice person, thank you again! PS: it is so cheap, 90Ringit/room/night

We stayed in a female-only dorm which was really clean and nice. The staff wete all very friendly and helpful. The room nd cafe were air conditioned and it had wifi everywhere. Close to bars and restaurants. Would totally recommend!

Stayed for 2 nights in a private room with bathroom. Room space is not bad and has enough room to move around. Bed and floor was clean but dun look up. The ceiling in the bathroom are spotted with with bugs or such. The lock for the door was totally loose and was about to fall off. I tighten the screws with my key and was better. The place is rather nicely decorated. And give a nice feel. Breakfast is choice of 2 set meals. Was ok but start only after 8am. Served in a cafe across the small road. The spirit of the place as with many are the people. Friendly and helpful.
