Nothing fancy other than good location with walking distance to shopping mall and food stalls. Front desk is closed and had to walk to St Giles for check in/ out. Run-down rooms with dirty bedsheets and pillows which need some renovation real soon.

Prime Location as near Komtar Complex as centre of everything. I can explore local attractions within walking distance such street art, chew jetty, etc. Check in or reception is the same as The Webley Hotel since Cititel Express as temporary closed. I experienced un long Q during check in up to 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon. Wifi is ok TV : variety of channels Fridge Air Con : ok 7-11 not far from hotel Small Room but equipped with all needs Highly recommended

Value for money budget hotel. Do note the Cititel express hotel door closes at 11pm and open at 7am. The hotel access from Wembley closes at 1am. But it's strategically located about 5minutes walk from my fav dim sum place. Room is small.....

We stayed one night in 3-star Cititel Express because it is next to the bus station at KOMTAR. The hotel is in the same building complex with a much more posh Wembley Hotel. Both are managed by the same management, but you have to check-in and check-out at the Wembley reception, and then walk to the other side of the building. The room was very small, but clean with strong air-conditioning system. We were given room on 20th floor with excellent view of the city. The room has a very basic amenity (two 3-in-1 coffee, shower/ shampoo gel and soap). Do not bring along large suitcase, as there is no space for even one large suitcase. The hotel is in the very prime location of the city, with easy access to everything in the city centre. Bus to the airport from KOMTAR bus station costs only RM2.70 per person (no. 401 and 102), which is just 3-4 minutes walk from the hotel. Our price (£22.52) did not include breakfast, but you can get anything in the area for breakfast. The hotel also offer breakfast in a restaurant on the ground floor for RM27++ per person. I will recommend this hotel to anyone travelling light without large suitcase. If the price is right, I will be back again if I visit Penang in future.

There are a number of reason this was probably one of my worst experience staying in an “express” hotel. 1) extremely bad service. The reception was rude and disparaging probably due to fact that cititel express was utilizing wimbley hotel reception and they thought they were to good for us. Bu 2) AC was not working but the maintenance people were professional and friendly unlike the reception and fixed the issue quickly. ( okay this isn’t bad and their one redeeming factor) 3) apparently ktv is allowed to operate till 2 or 3 am and the atrocious singing kept me up (I’m not saying I’m good at singing but I wouldn’t subjugate individuals to my crap voice and these people shouldn’t either.) Thought ktv not allowed to operate yet or if allowed entertainment establishments close at 12. Privileged I suppose.. 4) room is tiny like super tiny 5) internet stopped working and was slow and unstable (even with 20% occupancy can’t imagine if the usage increased) 6) no food establishments Overall bad experience and I would not recommend staying here to my worst enemy.

My wife and I booked and paid for a two night stay(26-28/12) before we left our home in KL. Arrived at 7.30pm and we were dumbfounded by a really busy reception. To our horror, we were told by other guest that they have been waiting since 2pm for their rooms. We were later told by the front office that they can't give us a room and we need request a refund from Agoda. We couldn't find any other hotels to our choise because it was late and had to settle with any hotel with an available room! It's absolutely not professional, we understand that you may be understaffed after MCO but it's not an excuse to let guest wait for long hours and then just leave us hanging. Never will stay here EVER!!!

This hotel is located in Georgetown, declared as UNESCO heritage site. There are so many things to do within walking distance from here. Well restored buildings as shophouses, Penang treasure gallery, the chocolate and coffee museum, the Blue Mansion, the E&O hotel (part of is was destroyed during the tsunami), Chowrasta Market. If you take a short drive, you can reach the Armenian street, small kopitiams, Fort Cornwallis and The FoodWorld. Many other places nearby, but for a 1 night visit, all this is possible. At night, take a drive to Batu Ferringhi to experience a different atmosphere. If you want local food outside of the hotel, there are a few mamak stalls downstairs. Friendly staff, especially those at the coffee house. They had measures of checking guests' temperature during the NCOVID19 outbreak. However, we had to call the front desk twice (checked in in the afternoon, called in the evening and then at night) to put in the cot for our kid despite noting ahead in the online booking that we will be needing one . Parking was alright. Hotel was overall clean. Loved the special touch of orchid stems in water -filled vases.
