BAD: Room smells weird. Door not closing properly, housekeeping came in and didn't close the door properly. When i arrived later, door was unlocked. Housekeeping didn't clean the room properly. GOOD: Reception staff were nice, friendly and very helpful. Location in great. View from top floors is nice.
Third time in Georgetown. Currently on the first night of a two night stay, a Wednesday. If noise bothers you, don’t bother. If you’re unlucky enough to have a room on ‘The Top’ side of the hotel, there are at least 3 places (open air bar, perhaps a music school (they’re not doing a good job) to annoy. And if you ask to change rooms to the other side of the hotel, reception will tell you it makes no difference as the band playing in the ground floor Neo hotel bar will keep you going until midnight. Avoid.
After checking in and entering the room, found that washing basin was choked and that toilet light was dimmed (malfunctioned). Service Technician was sent to clear the choked washing basin by pumping but it was not successful, he needed to go back to his service room to take additional tools to dismantle and clear the basin's metal bottle trap. He subsequently spent two trips of about 45 minutes to rectify the dimmed toilet light of replacing the faulty "LED driver". After several room door's closing and opening (due to the Service Technician's coming in and out), the room door became unable to open from inside (a safety concern since if there is a fire, the guest(s) inside can't open the door to escape) due to the self-loosening of an internal screw. When the issues were reported to the Receptionist of taking longer than expected to rectify the issues, she responded that they have only one Service Technician at those times. The above issues highlighted 1) the hotel is short-handed, 2) they do not have an effective preventive maintenance program and 3) the daily housekeeping staffs are not trained to perform basic lighting and washing basin checks in addition to the routine tidy-up jobs. They rely on guests' complaints to fix the issues. If Hotel Management is serious to improve the services and guests experience, they can take the guests' reviews positively, or perhaps it is a waste of time for the guests to write a review.…
I've booked a 3 night stay at this hotel from 13th till 16th February 2023. I was wondering what policy this hotel is following to clean up the guest room without us asking them to do so. I was out for a swim at the hotel after breakfast and when was surprised when we came back, our room was already been tidy up without us hanging the tag "TIDY UP PLEASE". I'm positive enough that I had left my powerbank to charge and founded that it was missing. I'm positive enough that I left it in the room while I was out. I called the reception later on with my own mobile phone because the phone in the room is not working. What's the used of having a phone in the room when I can't even used it?!!! I've explained my situation to the receptionist and he replied "Kitaorang kalau Encik tak sangkut tag pun kitaorang akan tetap kemaskan bilik". First ever hotel that I've checked in to do so without the guest permission. Not accusing your staff is stealing, but being insecure about what others valuable stuffs could go missing without us realising. …
I checked in on January 22nd 2023 and got a free upgrade to the suite room. Was a great experience and for sure most likely will come back to this hotel when visiting Penang in the future. Breakfast was good, free water refill on the hall.
shxt hole. Noisy as fxck, dirty as fxck. Come and visit if you want to experience nightmare. Don't call your name as if it represents Penang, total shameful and scams for the island. Get the name change or just shut it down. I will certainly report this hotel to the relevant department as fraudulent.
Paid RM300+/night for such small room. Only one staff to handle the checking in/out and parking ticket validation. The cleanliness of the toilet was just bad. Could see the stains inside the toilet bowl clearly and found hair on the floor, on the wall. Took some time for hot water and there were times none at all. Bad odours inside the closet. Stains on the bedsheet (the bed and pillow were comfy tho) * Credit to the staff named Nicole for being attentive and patient to the long queue of the guests. Location wise is convenient, walking distance to 1st avenue, Chowrasta area, nasi kandar Deen Maju, Hin Bus Depot, etc
No hot water. Couldn't sleep all night long because the noisy sound from the room above. I don't know whether they were a group of family or what. From 10 pm until 3 am, they kept running or walking. The sound of foot steps were so terrible...
The hotel was built in 2015. In 7 short years, it is certainly not well maintained. The carpet leading to my room was badly stained and no efforts to clean it. During our stay, the safe box did not work and a technician came twice and finally replaced the batteries. Also the door kept locking us out. Again discovered was battery problem. Also it is impossible to reach housekeeping if you need help. Must go to the reception which is usually manned by one staff. Security is lax as anymore can take the lift to your room. One good thing about this place is outside the hotel is a old coffee shop that sells good food at local prices. The mixed vegetable rice is a hit. It starts selling at about 0930. The toast bread stall outside the coffee also sells good toast. The Hor Fun stall is good also. The char kway teow stall is so so only. I ate there for 5 mornings. Coffee shop closes at 1430.…
I submitted a preregistration form that the Neo had emailed to me and spent 20 minutes at the registration desk anyway. Staff was neutral, businesslike. No hot water in my room upon check in nor upon waking up the next morning. Two cold showers. No excuse for messing up the basics.
