I didn't stay here but in a nearby hotel. A man approached me and my husband when we were walking past the back of the residences on 16 Nov 2019 and told us to call him if we needed a home stay in M Residences. He gave us his phone number written on a scrap of paper and then hurried away.I later saw a banner at the guardhouse in front of the property (see attached photo). No wonder he was acting so suspicious. Advice to travellers - find another place to stay or you may be found in contempt of court!

I booked a unit from agoda for Thaipusam 2019 (3 days 2 nights). No news or email confirmation other than during booking confirmation from Agoda. On the day 1, I called the number from Agoda confirmation asking for an early check in. But was told no till 3pm. So i decided to go later.. i went to the location about 8pm instead. The security refused to give us access to the premise, instead asked to contact the agent. I contacted the agent, I was told by the agent that there is a change of venue. I noticed a banner that reads "On 6 December 2018, the High Court of Penang granted an interim order against homestay activities at H-Residence Condominium. No Homestay activities are allowed at H-Residence. Any person in breach of the order will be liable for contempt of the court." displayed. I felt really cheated!!. I was told to go to Rainbow Paradise Hotel instead. I had no choice follow, went over to Rainbow Paradise Hotel, was asked to proceed to 10th floor, someone was waiting outside the lift to hand me over a keycard to 25th floor. The room was terrible looking, the ceiling had leaking holes. No ceiling fan. only with an old aircond that blows hot air. had to leave the balcony sliding door open for air throughout the stay. Calls to change room were not entertained. Terrible experience with family. Kids find it as the worst holiday ever!..…

We were stop by the management from entering the facilities, we book this place since December, and our stay is today February, we arrived penang hours ago and were find out we were not accommodated and there is no earlier notice not so ever any email of regrets or cancellation of booking were informed before this. Do not book into this facilities in future and I have the evidence of booking confirmations letter, if there is any legal trying to go against my comment, I am very much accepting this on the court as it is truly the worst of the worst greetings provide by the facilities. Do not book into this facility or else you will pretty much regret for the rest of your life.

I came with my friends, we stayed for 2 nights in room 2111,nice room with balcony, not really much guest in house but 4 of us was very enjoying stay in this hotel, wonderful view by the beach and city, close with Penang Hill, Tample, etc We're so sad when we have to leave this hotel, but we'll come back again ...

NWVER EVER PUT YOUR HOLIDAYS INTO RISK BY DEALING WITH THIS 'PEOPLE' WHO MANAGE THIS ROOM! booking.com, agoda etc... Pls block this management from registering their place with your apps. Chronology: Random search via Trivago and tripadvisor and get this location. I was channel to booking.com for best deal: RM260 for 2D1N, from Aug 19 - 21. Booking made in Aug 10. Email received as confirmed. On Aug 19, at 09.59am received an email notification that my credit card is invalid, this I need to update. I did it, then received email at 10.04am informed that credit card is updated n H Residence will now review updated credit card *I'm still using the same credit card as there is no issues on my credit card. 13.10 call them at 0174057771 as we would like to request for early check in. But he said room is not ready. Need to wait until 3pm. He asked what is my name, book through which apps. He checked, and yes my name is there. 14.51 call again and he said need to wait. I ask so I need to wait exactly till 3pm? He said... U can come around 3.30pm. So I said No no no... I need the room by 3pm. Ask me again from which apps I did my booking. He said will check and will return my call. 15.01 received an email notification that my booking is cancelled due to credit card is invalid. 😯 15.05 received a call from 0174057771 and said that there's no booking under my name 😂😂😂 We are standing at the security post at this residence. And saw another group of girls with plate number VA*, yes, they are also having issues with this so called management. At the same time, we saw a man with appearance looks like just woke up from sleep, and he's the 'owner'. Asked him what happened? Why my booking is cancelled? He said.. I check with booking.com. is not me to cancel the booking. Show him the email saying that need to contact him. But ended he act Very rude, no manners, very far away from professionalism. Don't know what happened to the girls group. But they told us they are going to stay to other places. When drove out from that area, I realized there's a yellow banner stated that building is only for residents. Homestay is prohibited 😯😯😯 Is this guy trying to scam people? If this is continuing, it will give a very bad experience to the tourist and Penang image. Pls TRIPADVOSIR, remove this place from the 'place to stay'.…

This is not a hotel but somehow like a Private Unit means u will have to share the kitchen with other guest. Other than that, all is fine. The room itself had a private balcony and bathroom. Wifi is rather weak

First n the last..don't get cheated by the photos,old n dirty.we can't use the swimming pool n have to use the dirty lift..the Indian security guard is f rude.. really hate him..I'm not coming back forever.

Bad performance. I stayed 2 nights and paid RM 125 for 1 night but they treat me like illegal customer 1. Permanet resident treat customer as homestay. 2. Cannot use facilities like swimming pool or gym or lift Proof: there is print out at room about rules 1.customer must say as cousin mr x at x floor at x room then u can use the facilities 2.can not say that u are homestay 3. No room services 4. No all channel tv. The permanent resident is not friendly.one of them even mad at customer. U can see banner at front gate that say the H resident not allowed homestay or use the properties for services. I write this not for the permanent residence people or saying bad for the owner but i write this because i feel cheated by the adverstisement.

There seems to be several condos advertised in H Residence as homestay or temporary rental. We rented one on the 13th floor for a week in May 2018. Firstly, we had the same experience as all the other reviewers who have rated this experience 2 star and below. You are clearly not welcome here. While the owners like you to think that this is temporary it is clearly not. These circumstances have been existing for some time now and the security guards enforce the restrictions. For the condo that we rented the owner advertises using photos that are clearly not the same condo - this is misleading and dishonest. The condo was filthy dirty, the linen was stained and had holes, the furniture was poor but most disappointing was the pool. I think that the building no longer maintains the pool. It is slimy, is full of broken glass tiles and is not safe. I would advise that you avoid this place - there are many better places to stay in when visiting Penang.…
