I booked a double room. The room have a big space and clean. Shared bathroom but the bathroom is new but most importantly, clean. Friendly staff, pleasant stay, reasonable price and definitely will stay here for next trip.
This will be my first time experience stayed in Tido Penang Hostel and really like it. The room is quite cosy and comfortable. Each person got one big locker space with key, pillow and mattress, reading light, a plug, blanket and towel. Free WiFi at all floors and in dorm room too. The hostel consist of 5 floors, 1st to 4th floor comes with 5 rooms & 5 individual bathroom & WC. The lounge on 5th floor was big and had great 2 swinging egg chairs and plenty of space over looking the view of the city. There was also a computer if you need to use one. Every floor has a iron and board. The 5th floor comes with books/magazine cupboard, table bench & high chair, soft sofa, a fridge, refillable hot/cold water filter and a small kitchenette. Free breakfast is at 5th floor overlooking the city in the morning that comes with self service toast, 4 types of spread, biscuits, coffee, tea & filtered water. Every shared bathroom is clean and comes with rain shower hot/cold pressure power and shampoo/body wash. The 8 bedded bunk room is clean and spacious and look exactly the same in the booking website. Open air parking is next to Caltex petrol station. All in all, for a price that am paying, I am happy with my stay and highly recommending and suggested this place for those who want to explore Georgetown The service overall was excellent and the facility was fabulous. The location was in a quiet area and very convenient for eating out. Highly recommend Tido.. :)…
The Tido was ok. The bedroom was fine, but there was hair in the corners of the room, hair in the showers and mold on the toilets. The “breakfast” is only toast. That’s it. So don’t expect to get fed properly. The location is fine, but not great. WiFi didn’t really work in the rooms. All in all, rather disappointing.
At first, I am contemplated to book a hostel. This will be my first time experience and since we arrived at Penang, I didn't want to spend so much money to clean up and a short break. Thus, I have decided to book double/queen bed with my friends. At each floor, there will be 2-room for dormitory and 2- double room, with shared bathroom. When we arrived, I am a bit skeptical when the front office staff busy making a video call while attending to us and I find it quite rude. Then, we heading to our room and I was caught by surprised because the room is clean and spacious for 2 people, and look exactly the same in the booking website. I am happy and for the shared bathroom, it looks clean but a bit inconvenience since you have to look your room door whenever you want to go to the toilets (for me personally). All in all, for a price that am paying, I am happy with my stay and highly recommending and suggested this place for those who want to explore Georgetown but does not want to spend much on your accommodation, without putting aside your comfort.…
I have visited Penang during Awal Muharram holiday. I booked the dorm bed last minute but I still manage to secure one. I have to say The environment meet my expectations and easy to locate parking too. I like about the cleanliness of the toilet and room.
The room is quite cosy and comfortable. Each person got one locker space with key, pillow and mattress, reading light, a plug, blanket and towel. Very comfortable dorm room. The most favourite spot of this hostel is the Lounge on 5th level. You can chill and relax here, watch TV, enjoy free coffee or tea, read some books or make friends here. The washrooms were rather impressive with its spick and span condition, well-maintained despite it’s on sharing basis. It is also suited for those young and tech-savvy vacationers who wish to explore the city of Georgetown without burning a hole in their pocket. The major issue I had was its bad wifi connection in my room. It was also very hot during the day (no air-cond). Unfriendly staffs. Really need to put these into list of concerns.
I stayed at Tido Hostel for 4 nights. The front office was so great. They are very quick even i came at midnight. room area very clean because we need to put out shoes in storage. The best thing of this hostel is they have a common room at 5th floor. I can look for sunset everynight from there.
Very clean, spacious, and more than enough privacy, even in the dorm rooms. The upstairs lounge area is great, with fast WiFi and lots of things to do. Only two things I can knock them down on: - WiFi on the second floor (where my room was) just wouldn't connect - Even on low settings, the toaster burnt the bread completely black
It’s a clean and comfortable dorm room. The beds have a light, shelf and plug in. The staff is nice. The rooms have air conditioning. The WiFi didn’t work most of the time. If you’re traveling alone, there are no social activities or any kind of social vibe to meet people.
The wifi is the worst. The rest is just okay. Thumbs up for the lounge. But wifi and dorm rooms meh. The receptionists speak english just fine. Easily accessible. But if you decide to just stay in the room and rest, the lack of the internet might be a BIG annoyance.
