It has been more than a year since I travelled because of the pandemic. It is sad to see how the travel industry is suffering so badly affected because of this Covid pandemic.

I had to travel to Malaysia for personal reasons and chose Marriott Putrajaya as my “Premier Quarantine Station Hotel.” This is my 4th day of quarantine and I am pleased so far with the efforts of Marriott Putrajaya.

Overall,
• The food served is tasty and good quality. So far, I have not had the same dish repeated and they rotate through a variety of cuisines – Japanese, Malay Chinese, Western. This is important, because when you are under quarantine, you find yourself looking forward to mealtime as the highlights of the day. The food is lukewarm by the time it arrives but that is understandable given the need to pack and distribute the meals en masse. I brought 4 cups of instant noodles in my luggage just in case and has not found the need to use them. If anything, I am now worried if I am gaining weight during my quarantine. It would be nice if they supplied a bathroom weighing scale.
• The room is of good size (42 sqm) and sufficient for you to skip rope and do your exercises.
• There is a day bed/ couch for you to relax, read and have your meals.
• The WiFi speed is good and there is no restriction on number of devices – important for you to be able to do your work, conduct Zoom calls and yet listen to your Apple Music or Spotify and watch news and movies on your iPad. It would have been nice to be able to Airplay from your iPad to the TV but that is not possible.
• There is ample drinking water. I had a box of 24 bottles waiting in the room. There is adequate body wash, coffee etc. They delivered more coffee when I ran out.
• There is a bathtub and laundry line if you feel inclined to hand wash your clothes during the quarantine.
• There is of course no room service during your quarantine. They supplied change of sheets, extra towels and even dishwashing liquid for the supplied cutleries and cups.
There were some small misses – a light bulb in my room was not working and the check in staff did not program my room key properly upon checking in. I had to return to the quarantine reception to be issued with a new key. Not good when you are trying to spend as little time as possible in the quarantine hotel corridors.

I fully understand that the hotel cannot afford to give Marriott Bonvoy points for the stay for the reduced price it has to charge for the quarantine stay. However, it would have been better if the nights counted for maintaining my Platinum Bonvoy membership status, even if I do not earn any Marriott Bonvoy points. Not sure if the hotel has to pay Marriott Bonvoy for the eligible nights.

Otherwise, I am happy with the hotel and would recommend it for anyone. Marriott Putrajaya can lessen the pain of your compulsory quarantine stay.

Checked in in the evening and stayed only for a night for a court hearing the next day. I was welcomed by a courteous staff by the name of Fitri. Asked him if it was possible to have a later check out, incase I couldn't come back on time by lunch. He told me to just give the hotel a call if I needed some extra time. I didn't need the late check out in the end, but the staff was really helpful and accommodating. They provided us with personal protection pack, filled with alcohol wipe, sanitizer & a mask, which came really handy. Although the hotel is not new, but it's quite well maintained, with well trained staff.

Very pleasant & respectful staff from the front desk/office to the breakfast buffet. Every one of them were smiling and making sure we were well taken care. Kudos to the Marriott's team to ensure the staff are well trained!
We were there to celebrate our friend's birthday and the hotel staff made sure they printed of a banner with Happy Birthday and decorated the room with Balloons and even gave a complimentary cake to the birthday gal! THANK YOU SO MUCH MARRIOTT for going extra mile!
Breakfast buffet ; Nasi lemak was definitely the highlight and being Malaysian we are always very particular when comes to sambal and it's good! Love the sambal. The buffet spread were good and the staff were super friendly!
Will definitely stay here again soon for the next celebration!
Room is clean and neat and overall we were super pleased!

After arriving in Kuala Lumpur i was transfered to the Marriott Hotel which was one part a quarantine zone and one part a regular hotel.
The hotel room was ok, nothing special, a little bit worn out and outdated but ok, the cleanliness of the room was average, meanning it looked clean but some parts were not cleaned properly, the most grose part of the room was the bathroom in which you could clearely see green mold in the corners of the shower cabin and corners of the sink.
Lets move on to food, as my room was payed by my company and it included 3 meals a day which sadly in my oppinion didnt come from the hotels kitchen and I say that becuase the food I was given was nothing like the food I ordered from the in-room dinning menu. Food prepared by the hotels kitchen was ok, nothing more and nothing less.
Hotel room entertainment included a TV and free WI-FI. The TV had a small amount of international TV channels that were watchable, most of them were local and not understandable to foreginers. WI-FI bandwith speed was poor for todays standards, but I had an option to pay for more bandwith speed, which i didnt because it was to expensive in my oppinion.
Hotel staff was polite and with good communication skills, I didnt have a problem with their service at all.
Overall hotel experience for me was poor.

i stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks to do the quarantine. I had the premium package RM per day 295. I am very very very disappointed. You can't choose your food. You eat what they give you... The food was disgusting and not edible with uncooked chicken and rice. You are only allowed to order grab food only 3 days a week and your relatives can bring you only dry foods twice a week. If you finish your complimentary water in the room you must pay RM 5 for a drinking water (500ml). All the food given to you is in plastic containers and plastic bags. The amount of plastic they use is ridiculous. (not eco friendly at all). For sure if you have to quarantine in this hotel you better think twice. This is not a 5 star hotel as it claims to be. Very poor condition. I feel very sad for peaple that would have to quarantine in this hotel. Choose wisely and don’t pick Marriott Putrajaya.

I selected this hotel as my quarantine hotel because of the location which is nearest to my own. On the first day itself already get disappointed as the check in was not well organized. I made a clear request in email, as well as emphasized during the check in process, I need a king-size bed room but I only got what I wanted after complaining.

As it was already about 4pm (over the hotel specified lunch period) I requested some simple serving of fruit or cookies as I didn’t had my lunch during the journey. Surprisingly I was served a “lunch box” but it was cold. It is a common sense to just heat it up in the microwave before serving? I dare not take it as to avoid any stomach problem and feedback to the hotel.

I received my dinner around 7.30pm despite requested to be served earlier as lunch was not taken. Again it was cold (cold chicken chop??).

Despite spoken and requested directly to the staff who is sending the food, needless to say all the meals I am receiving until today (2nd day of my quarantine period) are all served in cold. I really could not understand why and what happen!!

I have been asking myself is this really Marriott standard? Or is this a new way of living? What is the risk of stomach ache and/or other unnecessary complication during this period?

In my experience, this is not a simple individual problem but a management problem (Process? Procedure? Resources?...etc) and/or leadership problem (Expectation setting? Attention?...). The hotel leadership team has to seriously look into it.

I wish the hotel management has a chance to see this comment as I don’t know who else I can ask for attention and help. I was also thinking of writing directly to Mr Simon but back off.

If there is valid reason for sending cold meals, kindly respond to me and I should be able to accommodate any reasonable excuses. Last but not least, kindly improve this food serving problem. Thank you.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We truly understand your frustration and we have looked into areas that can be improved. However , we are required to follow the guideline which has been set and may result in delay of certain request as we will also require approval prior to going to guest room. We hope with the above explaination for a better understanding the quarantine stay is not the full experience that we usually deliver as a Marriott Hotel as we are required to follow the guideline which has been set for the safety of our guest and employess.. Thank you.

I stayed at Putrajaya Marriott for the Work & Stay Pass and it was such a pleasant stay. The hotel is not brand spankin' new, and to a certain extent it shows in the condition of the furnitures in the room. However to be fair, to say that they're in bad condition is not exactly right as well.
The bed is comfortable & their pillows are so comfortable (i'm not a fan of plushy down pillows so firm foam pillows are my favorite). The toilet comes with full set of toiletries & amenities which is excellent.
What i like the most about the hotel is the food. All the meals that I had at the hotel have been excellent. I ended up having my lunches there too. While they dont come with a million items on their menu, the ones that i ordered so far have all been very tasty and their prices are great too. And, as in-house guest, you're entitled to 30% discount on F&B. Thats perfect!
One thing that I'd like to recommend for improvement is the service level of their front desk staff. Ok, their service is not bad at all, but its definitely not at the level of an international brand name hotel yet. Hope to see them making this improvement during my next visit.

My wife and I served out our mandatory quarantine at Marriott Putrajaya and we both highly regret it.

There was no staff available to check us in for close to an hour after our arrival, despite the hotel having our exact arrival time weeks prior.

The room type we booked was not honoured and we were placed in a lesser category room, with no balcony.

Food served to us was always served cold, and it was disgusting despite our premium package booking. Room service food was a little better, but still low quality. It took on average over an hour for the food to be delivered and at times it didn't ever show up at all. Staff are indifferent and couldn't care less if you experience these issues.

The room condition was the worst part of our stay. There is mold present on almost every surface in the room. Its as if this property had severe water damage and decided to put off fixing it until after covid. The smell got so bad by the end of out two weeks, my wife and I both started to wear our masks in the room to get breaks from the smell. Although she and I got out with just minor discomfort, I do worry about the health impacts this could have on families with small children.

Bringing this up to mangement did nothing as they kind of just shrugged it off and said they'd take a look at it.

Stay at another property for your quarantine, especially if traveling with children.

Good service especially the F&B team by F&B director Mr Shahbuddin. My parents (senior citizen) went through their quarantine here and they helped my parents a lot especially to cater on their diabetic meal. My parents were very satisfied with their hospitality. One thing, no housekeeping services provided for the person under quarantine. My parents would like to suggest maybe to inform beforehand so that they can prepare accordingly (eg: to do laundry, to clean up the room). If u dont have this service, perhaps the hotel can provide at least the broom so that they can clean up themselves. No clothes hanger provided. Cutleries, cup and saucer not adequately provided. Overall, pleasant stay for them and special thanks to the F&B team. If not from them, they may not enjoy the stay that much. Thank you so much.

From room 904. Arrived on 9th April 2021. We chose this hotel thinking that they will provide a quality service. But you fail terribly. So much of complaints for our stay. I will definitely not recommend this hotel for anyone choosing premium package for quarantine facility.
1. On arrival, cold and spoiled food placed outside of our room.
2. Your operators does not know how to speak to hotel guests. Pricilla and Patricia you may leave this job if you do not know how to handle hotel guests. One of them told will return my call in 2 minutes but no return call even after 2 hours. Another one said will ask Duty Manager to speak to us which did not happen.
3. On day 5, you served us 2 slices of toast bread for breakfast with no sides. When we called, you said food menu is decided by your chef. I wonder what kind of chef who will serve only toast bread with no sides.
4. That same afternoon, you served us sandwich for lunch.
5. On that night, 13th April, dinner was not served even at 8pm, whereby on previous days dinner was served at 7pm. When I called to check ,your unprofessional operator said it’s in progress even though I said my 2 kids are hungry. No sorry or courtesy call to inform about food.

Do you think we are staying for free? I’m paying RM520 per night for this stay. And you charge RM100 for 3 extra meals just for a bread for breakfast and lunch? You may withdraw as a Premium Quarantine Facility if you can’t deliver a good service or might just opt to Standard Package Quarantine Facility. That would fit you more for this terrible services. You are a disgrace for Marriott Group and have tarnished the good name Marriott has. I hope someone would read this and give me an answer.
