I visit this hotel during pkpb. This hotel really minimize their staff during this time. Breakfast was delivered to the room. It was decent. Not many people stay in the hotel during this time. Luckily, i got room near the elevator. The room was modern with the bathroom blind you can open it using a button. There's also a welcome note at the tv screen for the guest. The receptionist also was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will choose this hotel again.

We stayed three nights at the Hilton Hotel in Kota Kinabalu and paid £269 for bed and breakfast. The hotel is located on the main road from the airport into the town and is within easy walking distance of the popular handicraft market, the waterfront area where there are cafes and restaurants and most of the towns shopping malls and smaller shops. On the 11th floor there is a fabulous rooftop swimming pool where you can not only enjoy swimming and sunbathing on sun loungers and couches but can also eat lunch and an evening meal served right by the pool. Prices are more expensive than in the town – but still reasonable. We paid £4 for ‘curly fries’, £2.20 for a can of diet coke and £11.50 for a delicious beef burger with French fries. It was a delightful place to relax and enjoy ourselves. Our hotel room was large and spacious with air conditioning, hair dryer, full screen TV, shower and toilet, desk, ironing board and iron, fridge, a couch and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast in the hotel was an ‘all you can eat’ help yourself affair with everything from Asian to European and American tastes. They also had peanut butter - a real highlight. The reception area is large and spacious, and the staff could not have been more helpful in explaining things to us and giving suggestions for outings. One specific point: I needed to transfer some money to another hotel in Malaysia and the duty manager simply took some cash I offered him and did it himself on his own telephone bank account. You cannot get much better customer service than that!

First stay in the Hilton Kota Kinabalu. It was a good 3 night stay. For the price certain amenities could be of higher quality but not complaining, just a suggestion for them to improve. Breakfast spread is very good especially the juices. The gym and pool area is worth a visit.

I tried the Hilton as they had a good deal on. I stayed for 3 nights in March for business. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I knew I didn't like the location already.
The hotel is located at a not very desirable area. There is the famous seafood restaurant at the back of the hotel and some other smaller local restaurants and food stalls, but that's about it. Nothing else to do in the vicinity. The sea is about 15 minutes walk and you have to cross a very busy road to get there.

When I check in, I was told that I was upgraded to the executive floor. The room that was given to me was big. However, the AC didn't work so I was moved to another room, facing the main road. Again the AC didn't work. The lowest the temperature was something like 20 which is really hot for me.

There is a coffee/tea making facilities, free bottle water, and the usual toiletries. However, can I please ask Hilton to get rid of small bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. This is not so environmentally friendly.

Staff are friendly and one thing different I noticed is that someone from the hotel will text you to ask about your stay, etc. I find this a nice touch.

The pool on the top floor was good and big. It next to a bar/restaurant so I am not sure if I want to swim with people watching me. I can't find the gym though.

The other thing I didn't like is carpet in the room. I have very sensitive nose to dust and was sneezing non stop. I would prefer a room with wooden floors, especially in hot country like Malaysia.

Dear sundancekid73, Thank you for your honest feedback. While I'm glad you were satisfied with our facilities as well as the hospitable service of our team, I also appreciate your constructive comments on certain aspects we could improve on. Your well-meaning eco-friendly suggestions on certain toiletries in our rooms are well noted, as our hotel is committed towards Hilton’s pledge on sustainability too. As for the air-conditioning control and temperature, with our continued commitment to energy and environmental conservation, the temperature control in all our guest rooms and public areas can only be set to as low as 20 degrees Celsius, which is an optimum comfortable temperature. However, I’m sorry if this had caused discomfort to your stay. Having said that, I hope we'll have another opportunity to welcome you back next time for a renewed and much-improved experience. Sincerely, Linda Pecoraro General Manager

(This poor review may be due to pandemic service, but its still poor service)

A branded name with poor quality service.
Upon check-in we were told there will be limited service due to pandemic, and that is acceptable. No F&B and limited housekeeping days.

With only 3 days given a week for housekeeping (and we had a 10 day stay), this was already bare minimum. Yet, to my horror, they can't even commit to it and a few days when I'm back after work the room is unkept, rubbish not cleared, no water given, no toiletries replenished and I need to call to restock. Last thing anybody wants after a long day. (we were later told it was upon request only.... i mean 3 days a week of housekeeping and i still need to make a request?? This is not airbnb, this is Hilton!!)

Despite that, housekeeping was terrible.
The carpets are not vacuumed. With the gym closed and doing some in room exercise, I will get up with foreign hairs and rubber band stuck in my own hair...... it was disgusting

I do hope the management look into this, otherwise it may be a better idea to just close totally during this time since you can't live up to even a 2 star hotel service.

Dear HiltonKKSabah, I am so sorry you found the standard of cleanliness unacceptable. Irrespective of the conditions we find ourselves operating in, we make promises to carry out cleaning tasks, and should be delivering on those promises. Please accept my sincere apologies for the shortfalls you experienced. I have discussed the issues with the team to ensure they remain focused on the job in hand and deliver the exceptional standards our guests expect. Rest assured, these are not the standards we pride ourselves on. We work hard to make sure our housekeepers keep each and every guest room and bathroom clean. I hope you will consider staying with us again and I have the opportunity to personally welcome you back, and apologize in person. Kind regards, Andrew Nisbet General Manager

We booked Hilton Kota Kinabalu on website for a night stay to attend relative's wedding dinner on 3 February 2022. Check in was prompt to Room 1018 but just need to wait for 1019 to be cleaned. Although i have indicated for an upgrage on Hilton Honors Website, the GSA did not accord , but she did call my room to enquire, which i told her not to worry about it.

Both rooms are modern, nice & clean , have comfortable beds equipped with lots of modern usb ports , but the pillows are too soft for us.
Rooms only have city view , however it is not a problem as we have an evening full of activities at the Grand Ballroom Wedding function.

Well set up ballroom for Wedding ,accompanied by friendly & helpful service staff. Dinner was delicious, It has soto ayam soup, caesar salad , assorted food served in dome set and ice cream in sago for dessert. Indeed it was a wonderful time spent at this city business hotel.

I am an avid traveller and a Hilton Gold member and this one in KK is by far one of the best I have ever stayed in.

Rooms:
Rooms are brand new. Every small detail is accounted for, from modern technology control panels for lights etc, to plug sockets being well thought out and placed. The rooms have so much light, and love the glass open style bathroom.
Toiletries are very luxury too.

Food:
Food is amazing. Breakfast is served with great smiles, the Chefs all knew me my name by the end of 5 days. I had the dinner buffet here once which was great value for money for what you got.

Gym:
Well equipped and actually big enough to use properly!

Pool:
The pool is small but enough room for everyone. They have late night swim options which is nice if you are out touring all day.

Staff are truly exceptional here. As a solo female travelling alone, they went above and beyond to help me and make me feel comortable.

I cannot wait to re-visit here again.

Short solo stay, walk in, the reception able to provide me info on the option available to fit my purpose of stay. Offered me light breakfast early in the morning before catching flight, well informed about complimentary parking space at the front of the hotel with no charge by the bell boy. Overall customer service is excellent.

GENERAL INFO
€Frequently stayed with Hilton Kota Kinabalu for business trip. Decided to write a review for them because I finally got an upgrade to the executive suite room
€Stayed for one night in September 2020, booked my stay through Honors as Diamond member

REVIEW
€Check in speed is acceptable, not too much of hospitality thingy here because the hotel was spoiled with high occupancy rate before pandemic strike
€Lobby with lovely sofas and elegant design
€Helpful concierge with luggage
€Standard Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries
€Generally city view. Seaview blocked by buildings. Better seaview available at rooftop swimming pool
€No lounge available, and replaced with snack at rooftop restaurant and limited 2 glass of alcohol drinks per person
€No buffet breakfast, served with ala carte menu and pastries. Not much of surprise for the tastiness

My family is 4 and we stayed 4 days(3 nights) at 2 executive rooms during Lunar New Year's holiday.
This was our first experience with Hilton and it was great stay.
1. Location
Great. 10-15 minutes to the airport (KKIA), 5 mins to IMAGO mall and Sutera harbor golf club, etc.
2. Rooms
The contemporary rooms are clean and mattresses are cozy. Enough amenities are provided everyday. If there were a bath, it would be perfect.
3. Executive lounge
Executive rooms provide lounge access and free breakfast. The lounge is located at 9th floor and provides free breakfast and enjoyable happy hour. Best part is the lounge staff. Lounge staff is friendly, courteous and attentive. They made reservations for us to play golf, have island tour, and have massage. The staff is very accommodating with its guests. Of course, front desk staff and concierge staff are great.
4. Pool
Roof top pool at 11th floor is accessible for all guests and roof top bar provides great food and beverage.
Totally, the hotel has all modern comforts. We would like to stay there again.

Just pay for exec room.or suite: automatic u get access to the exec lounge, breakfast included (lounge or main coffee house). Unless you are hilton diamond: than basic room will auto access to lounge and free brrakfast. Also they have revamped their eve cocktail since end of last year. So the lounge provide heavy options during cocktail. Approach the team nicely.

Hi, sorry just seen this. I too am a HH Gold member but irrespective of that, all rooms have complimentary WiFi. Hotels offer it everywhere these days. Most of these wifis are not secure (as it’s clearly stated), but I wouldn’t say it’s unsafe to use. But I wouldn’t do any banking or financial related matters on these free unsecured connections. In some hotels, when the link opens to choose the WiFi option, you will see another of that hotel’s WiFi that is secure and needs a password. If you ask the hotel nicely they will give you that password and it’s completely secure. Basically it’s a VPN shield that protects you even more. Hope that helps.

Easy to get taxi and Grab, so easy to get them even if you wanna go to / from the airport. Females going out solo should be no problem as the nearest police station is just less than 400m (IPD Karamunsing). Got Welcome Seafood restaurant and Boreno's Fried Chicken just behind the hotel. There a choices of spa outlets behind the hotel, Asia City Mall.
