My mother and I stayed at this hostel for 4 nights & were very satisfied. There is a nice big area to relax on lounges or at a table. There are also a couple of computers for guests to use which I find convenient. The ladies at the front desk were always quite helpful with any concerns. Couple of small...

Stayed here a few nights before climbing Kinabalu and a few after. They allowed us to store our baggage for free whilst climbing. Staff are extremely friendly and the complimentary breakfast is quite good. The communal area is a really nice space to chill out with free use of computers and free coffee. Rooms are simple and clean with shared...

Booked a double room at this hostel, through Booking.com. When we arrived at the hotel, there was no double room available. The hostels Receptionist was rude and unhelpful - she was more concerned about laying the blame on us and Booking.com than resolving the situation...even though we had a copy of the confirmation email and confirmation number, she would not...

We stayed here for four nights, two nights before we headed over to sandakan, and two when we came back. We stayed in a double bed fan room and found it cooled the room sufficiently. The room was clean and had a small table and chair, and one of our rooms had a laundry drying rack which was helpful. You...

We stayed here twice during our time on Borneo. The double rooms are clean and spacious, albeit simple. Bathrooms were generally clean, although the showers got dirty by mid morning - lots of hairs... The communal area is very relaxed, spacious and comfortable. It's a great place to meet people. This is not a party hostel - which is great....

Located in the centre of town, right on then bustling Sunday morning market. Cheap and cheerful, great to meet other travellers in the social area and hang out between dives. Secure and safe with own lockers, fan and air con dorms and private rooms.

We had a lovely stay in the Akinabalu Youth Hostel, the staff were always very friendly. Air con in the rooms which was good and the communal area is really lovely. The showers weren't amazing but good value for money overall. We would definitely stay here again

The staff are incredibly friendly, always happy to book you a taxi or advise on local facilities (restaurants, laundrettes etc). The beds are pretty comfy, and it is very easy to sleep in the air conditioned rooms. All this for 30-75RM (£5-£13), better value than any hotel you'll find. Would recommend!
