Detailed Reviews
There's more than one water dispenser on each floor, and the property is walking distance from the waterfront, where there a lot of local food to try.
However, the soundproofing is bad and you could hear the doors closing on the same floor. On top of that, I'm not sure if the room has been properly cleaned, as the electric kettle is still half full when we checked into the room and that is extremely worrying especially in this time of pandemic.

Hotel located in somewhat obscure area. Rats running down the street. Very noisy, earplugs are a must. Room size quite small. Not clean, long black hair all on the floor. Bed nice. Very annoying you have to reenter WiFi code all the time. Bathroom was overfloading constantly, showerhead is in a weird (non-adjustable) angle. Staff friendly. Rules everywhere (no smoking, no durian, list of prices if you break/stain/take anything); not very welcoming nor neccesary (just provide pamflet at check in). We stayed only 1 night and I was glad to.

Hello, We do apologise that you found your stay unpleasant. We will try to improve on the cleanliness, but our rooms are cleaned everyday and one piece of hair can be missed at times. However, many of the things you mentioned we have no control of because it is outside of the hotel. The Wi Fi is adjusted as such that there is a firewall which protects the usage within from outside interference. The rules are just signages which you will find in most hotels in Kota Kinabalu. Thank you again for staying with us.

Stayed here for 5 nights. The room is small and basic but suited me travelling solo. The bed was comfortable although there was an obvious stain on the sheets when I arrived ( which was changed after 2 nights ). The air conditioning was cold ( although you have to turn on a switch on the wall before you switch on the A/C ). My room had a safe, a luggage rack, and one seat/stool. There was no fridge. Had kettle and cups and some sachets for ?coffee ( did not check ). TV had some English programmes. Window overlooking the street but cannot open the windows. The bathroom was small - the shower cubicle is not quite square and the door nearly touches the toilet when it opens. The shower head is removeable, which was a blessing, as it is so high and the shower so small that when turned on at a reasonable pace, it completely misses you and hits the glass behind. You have to have the pressure quite low to get it to fall on top of you, and you have to remember to hit the switch ( like the A/C ) to get hot water for the shower. When you open the shower door, water runs onto the floor. There were lots of power points near the bed. The rooms are cleaned daily. No water provided, but there is a water filter near the elevator. There is only 1 elevator but its only a small hotel and I never had to wait more than about 30 seconds. There is nowhere to hang clothes, other than a rack with 3 hooks on the wall. No hangers. No shelves.
The location is close to things, can walk to the waterfront, close to food outlets and shopping malls. Money changers in shopping centre 200m away. Some tours can be booked through front desk - did one to Mari Mari cultural village which was very enjoyable. Staff are friendly and helpful. They call taxi driver Peter, who is reliable and always on time and will take you to the airport for 30RM ( or 40 after midnight or early morning ). He even picked me up after a Sandakan day trip which was great.
The walls are a bit thin - could hear someone next door snoring and the cleaner in the other room during the day. This may be an issue for light sleepers if you have noisy neighbours.
Overall, for the price I paid, thought it was reasonable value for money.

Good air con, comfy bed, good location right next to seafood night market. 24 hour reception. Felt safe and clean. No storage space to unpack but we were only there one night. Room very small but was only there to sleep before an early start to Gaya Island.

Located nicely close to the market. Shower looks good but room was much smaller than expected. Pictures look much better than reality. Can see the marks of use. No refrigerator! Aircon in the aisle could be cleaned one day.
There are stated a alot of rules what to do and what not to do. In my opinion a little bit pricy for what you get. Would take another hotel next time which is maybe 150 m farer from the sea front since everything is quite close in this town. Staff is very nice. Internet also ok!

This is the second time I stayed here.
clean place with basic offering. it's not a full fledged service hotel, so don't expect bell and whistle. if you are looking for a clean place to stay this could be it. the hotel is only accessible through the pass card, so it's quite safe and secured
the location is very good. 7-eleven in the same row, Burger King around the corner, plenty of restaurant there. and on the night I stayed there, there was a night market; I'm not sure whether its a nightly affair or weekly stuff.
the place is stone throw away from waterfront which means more restaurant and market.

This is a lovely hotel in the very centre of town, close to the Waterfront and to all shopping centres and restaurants. It is almost next door to the Hyatt and you can stay here at a fraction of the cost. The hotel is extremely clean, impeccable throughout, with modern aircon and great bathrooms. Reception staff were very welcoming and efficient.

We had a wonderful time in the Qlio Hotel. Rooms are small but they are modern and very nicely decorated and give a very warm welcome. The shower is very nice and has strong pressure hot water. The staff are VERY friendly and helped us in anything we needed. The location is excellent. Just 5 minutes walk to KK night market where you can get excellent seafood. Just opposite the complex where the Qlio hotel is located, there is a very useful shopping center with foreign currency exchange, bakery and other stuff. I can highly recommend the Qlio hotel to anyone who wants a non-expensive hotel which has everything you need.

Hotel is centrally located and the rooms are simple but clean, which is extremely important. The housekeeping can be improved though as the cups were left unwashed during one of the days we stayed. Not a major issue but it's the attention to details that makes the difference between 'good' and 'great'. Nice stay overall.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is decorated nicely in a modern chic style, and as soon as you walk in there is a calming lemongrass scent which I really liked.
The room had everything we needed, a comfortable bed with a modern bathroom, hot drink facilities, tv and aircon. The WiFi also had a good speed. Very happy with our stay here. Good value for money, would come again if back in KK.

For your information, the hotel does not allow fruit that has a strong smell, such as durian, jackfruit and tarap. The hotel also does not allow guest to bring in mangosteens and mangoes as the juice stains the linen and towels. Hope this helps.
