A nice clean hostel, with cereal and bread provided for breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful with local information. The location is pretty good, right by the Filipino market and several bars, and while the hostel itself may be somewhat hard to locate they send you detailed directions before your check in. The only reason we couldn’t give Homy Seafront Hostel 5 stars is that the walls are incredibly thin. There was actually a gap in the wall by the window of our room, and we could hear the room next to us as if they were in the same room! Likewise, noise from outside the hostel including loud music from the bars opposite could be heard pretty clearly.

Overall we had a good stay. The price was great and the hostel suited us well, just a shame about the thin walls!!

Just wanted an inexpensive place for a night after our hike down fr Mt Kinabalu. I hv expected us to check in late and out after breakfast the next day.
Saw the good reviews for Homy Seafront and decided to book it.
View from outside the building was a bit of a disappointment. Bcos of the traffic flow n no parking at the main entrance, we couldn't find the entrance.
Called Homy n was direct to the entrance and Fendi (I think his name) come down to the ground floor to look for us.
Really love the look of the place. Clean, cosy and friendly service.
Room is a bit small is you hv big luggage.
There is a pantry which u can help yourself to tea/coffee, biscuits, bread n spreads for breakfast.
Bathrooms n toilet are clean. The women n men bathrooms are separated.

We spent four nights in a double room and really enjoyed our time here. Yes it might be a little difficult to spot/see at first, but we thought it was in a great central location and well worth the money. Staff are super helpful and friendly (they helped arrange car hire for us for the day) and it's easy to use this as a base and use Grab taxis to get around. OK, the walls are paper thin and you hear traffic noise (ear plugs can be hands), but when the aircon is on and you've spent the day exploring and are dead tired you don't notice. Also nice to have an area where you can prepare your breakfast and the place is walking distance to plenty of places to eat. Would happily stay here again - thanks everyone for a great stay.

The location is quite hard to find as its 4 floors above a restaurant. We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom, but there was no windows so very dark. The bathrooms were very clean and quiet. Breakfast included and cooked for us by a very nice lady. The staff were very nice and helpful. Restaurants were nearby but not much to do in the area and very dirty.

Best Hostel in Kota Kinabalu. The rooms were really clean, comfortable and we had a beautiful sea view. Breackfast was free and we could use the facilities after the check out. They also accepted to keep our bags. The staff was amazing. Highly recommend.

We booked this hostel last minute and were pleasantly surprised. The staff helped us with directions and planning the rest of our trip. The hostel itself was one of the cleanest hostels we stayed in. We stayed in the double bed and it was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was really yummy and filling. The lounging area had a tv and comfy couches if you don't want to stay in your dorm.

We originally were booked for one night, but extended our stay. So happy we found this fantastic hostel. It's really modern with new facilities, perfectly clean, breakfast and food provided, good kitchen facilties and a lounge with Netflix!

The staff are super friendly and helpful. We were stuck during the coronavirus outbreak and they allowed us to stay on longer, saving us from being homeless when everything was shutting down. Can't thank them enough.

The hostel is separated across three areas of the shopping centre, so not all rooms have views of the sea, but they're all good rooms regardless.
