The stray cats led us to Lucy's. Our first impression of Lucy was friendly and accommodating but boy were we wrong. Six hours after arrival we found bed bug larvae on the mattress and full grown BED BUGS between the mattresses. After politely and discretely pulling her aside she proceeded to jump to the defense, accusing US of putting them...

Excellent hostel, great hospitality. Lucy is like a mom, the place is very clean. Great base for going to Mt kinabalu. Good price. For me Lucy is God-sent. That makes the character of the place. It's close to downtown and clean and tidy. It may not suit all, but for me, it was great. Curfew can be negotiated, but Lucy has to sleep too. Lucy is a lot of fun. For those complainants, sorry you had bad impressions. I keep going back each...

You will probably have found this place because Borneo Backpackers is full or you are unfortunate to have prebooked a room. If you are looking for a place to stay there is much better around KK. Staff are incredibly rude and unwelcoming, asking for the smallest thing is a chore. Make sure you don't step foot in the place with...

After reading some of the reviews, I can see where they are coming from. We just got back from Lucy's and while alot of the previous reviews are correct (lots of rules, curfew,no blanket even when asked for one, shushed for closing door loudly, and yes, she is definately ready to retire) we still loved it here. We enjoyed the...

Its not easy finding a good and cheap place in kk. From what i saw, lucy was "the best". Well, least bad. Not the cheapest around the area as well. Curfew at midnight is a deal-breaker for me. My room was clean and large enough, but walls are thin. Lucy seemed very tired and a little grumpy. Not very welcoming....

Despite the other reviews, we loved Lucy. Indeed, this place is not a party hostel and she has some rules, but mainly because she wants to make sure everyone can have a decent night of sleep. She helped us planning our 2day trip to Poring and mt Kinabalu Park (even while she offers a daytrip herself) and after our trip...

We found this place after wandering around for a bit and finding no one else had any vacancy. It seemed like it had a lot of character, cute, and would be good for a couple of nights. Upon arrival Lucy was very welcoming to us, introducing us to her two cats and seemed to be an accommodating host. That all...

This review is currently being written from the balcony at Lucy's Homestay where I have been banished along with 3 other travellers for talking inside at 5pm! Staying here was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my 8 months of travel. At first glance it seems like a very homely little place run by a smiley Malay woman. As...

I wouldn't go here. Beds were dirty (suspected bedbugs), a fan that sounded like a chopper, right next to busy roads and cats everywhere. Lucy booked all sorts of trips for me but was not very keen on it. Maybe it as the boring people but I hated it...
