Detailed Reviews
Hotel is nice. Rooms are quite big and nice, and value for money is quite good. Also, the cleaning staff at my floor (11) was great. Super nice.
Anyway, they have to improve on 3 things:
1. Mantainence: the desk's power socket in my room wasn't working, and also the scale was broken or out of battery. These need to be checked more regularly!
Moreover, regarding the socket, they said they can't fix it, unless I stay in the room during repairing time (!!!). If I trust cleaning staff to be in my room while I'm outside, why shouldn't I trust maintenance?
2. Breakfast staff: breakfast staff was not kind and seems lazy. Eg: I asked for ice, and they just told me they don't have it. But if they put ice in the juice, how come they don't have it for me? Need to improve.
3. Reception staff: reception staff was very nice, but they should be more prepared on basic tourist info. Eg. I asked them how to reach Gaya island, and they didn't know it, neither they were able to retrieve this info. At the end, I discovered it was enough to go to the Central Market, and jump on a boat. They should have known this!

An average hotel for what you pay.
Staff are lovely. Great location, MO Close to Gaya markets just across the road. Walking distance to jesselton point to catch ferry to islands.
minuets away to malls and money exchange places.
The hotel needs an up grade starting to get run down.
My last visit to this hotel was a much better experience.
House keeping the rooms needs more attention.
The buffet breakfast has gone down in this trip not much variety and there chef can’t even cook a sunny side up egg without making a mess of it. The fry pans where old and sticking to the eggs. Food Trays where empty and had to wait till they filled them.
December is a busy time but the hotel should have better experience to adjust and train there staff in this peek season it’s not the guests fault.

We sincerely appreciate your constructive feedback and a copy of your review has been forwarded to our Management for their attention. We shall continue to improve our facilities and services to ensure that valued guests such as yourself have a pleasant stay with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. The rooms are quite dark, and whilst clean, just felt a little shabby. The pool area looks nice on the surface, but then smelt quite badly of rotting rubbish or fish. It's close to the fish market, so maybe that was why, but also there were bits floating in the bottom of the pool - it needed a good clean. Breakfast was OK, but not great. We were using it as a transition hotel, not to spend any time there. If I went again, I'd spend a little more and go for someone on the waterfront, as we felt a little uncomfortable walking around the area (we were very obvious tourists in a place that hasn't had tourists for some time).

Situated in the heart of the city this was a good starting point to explore the surrounds. The room was a reasonable size and the ensuite featured a large wooden bath tub. The buffet breakfast was extensive and the WiFi in the room was fast. Tea and coffee facilities were included.

A good hotel with clean and spacious rooms and a small pool. A bit disappointed by some tourists using the rooms as a "village street" with the doors open and kids running around and screaming until quite late at night. - But thats the guests and not the hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights and this hotel is fantastic and represented such great value for money. We had a really comfortable, clean, modern and spacious room with lots of space for your belongings. We had a safe and a kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was so comfortable and even though our room looked out over the main road, it was really quiet with good soundproofing. We had a really comfortable stay. The staff in reception are so helpful and welcoming and we liked that the hotel had a really nice pool area and a fantastic gym with really good equipment. The hotel is central and in close proximity to the waterfront and there are lots of bars and restaurants close by as well as a shopping mall with lots of food options. We’d absolutely recommend this place

This is a very nice clean hotel. They are doing renovations to maintain its quality. Front desk is good. Rooms a nice clean and clean. Breakfast is not huge but you won’t go away hungry. Very close to several very tasty restaurants and there is a coffee shop across the street with good coffee and if you go in the afternoon the owner is there and he is a lot of fun.

Stay was a gift for my son. Booked through booking.com and they had my cc details. When my son went to check in they refused my card as payment as I wasn’t there even though I was on phone and according to booking.com they had my card details. So suddenly my gift became a high cost to my travelling son. If he didn’t take the booking they would have happily have charged a cancellation fee - to the card they had on file!!!! Total BS. Will never use again. And booking.com you have alot to answer for also.

Idea view rooms are pleasant but also give views of planes coming into land. Lack of readily available information in the hotel eg WiFi login. Lacks any real lounge area and breakfast although wide choices only has option for 2 coffee types. Portering help not proactive - had to carry my own bags to the room. Generally hotel feels that it needs an upgrade.

I booked Grand Deluxe King Room. Sound great is it. Arrive around 730pm. Room had bathtub but bathtub was outside the bathroom behind the bed..(can you imagine). The funny things, we only can soak only our up to ankle only inside the bathtub. Room ambience quite dark. Several down lights cannot be use.Channel TV was not attractive.
Location was near to Gaya Street, convenience stores etc. Walking distance to Filipino market and Dataran Todak. There was a link bridge behind the hotel to go the location.
Breakfast was ok. Room was spacious (beside the bathtub and channel TV).Wifi was slow.

Actually there is no typhoon in Malaysia including Sabah. Just that october is the starting of rainy season but the wind will not be too strong. Sabah is well known as Land Below The Wind as well. Welcome to Sabah.
