I was here in Kota Kinabalu visiting friends. The location was ideal with only a short drive to the airport. The room was spacious and had everything I required. The hotel does however need some renovations as the carpets in hallways appeared tired and worn. The hotel reception team were excellent and were always happy to help - thank you to the team. The Buffett breakfast was OK but nothing really to write home about. For a convenient and friendly hotel choose this for your next stay.
Given the price, it is affordable with good space given. Although we didn't managed to wake up in time for the free breakfast, but just the thought that breakfast provided was worth it with the price paid. The toilets are huge too. So its a plus. Stayed only for one night with the husband but he and I both agree that the place is worth money. Tips: Free parking after 5pm, park at own risks but hotel will ask for details of car plate number, probably to help identify clients car if any inconvenience ever occur.
We stayed for 1 night in a deluxe suite room 204 and room was clean & spacious. The huge bathroom was a suprise. Two 24hrs convenient store & plenty of restaurant nearby. KK Times Square & Imago shopping Mall is also a walking distance from the Hotel. We didnt need to use our car during our stay. Will definitely come back again!
Stay here for 2 nights. Room is spacious and clean. However TV channel selection is limited and very poor signal. WIFI speed at around 4MB/s, off peak still can enjoy youtube but peak timing is tough. Conference room facility is ok. Whiteboard marker with very poor quality caused very hard to clean. Nearby shops offered good choice of food for Dinner. A lot of parking behind the hotel.
Interesting clean room with good different daily breakfast choices, quite and safe environment. Transportations to city centre by Grab are convenient and affordable. Hotel conveniently located near to airport.
The staff were really friendly and the room was spacious. It is also located very strategically whereby everything was very close by to the hotel. There are also convenience stores walking distance which was a bonus as well. My friends and i had a nice stay here at Zara’s Boutique Hotel.
Travelling with group. Most rooms had significant maintenance issues; and cleaning was often below standard. Sinks falling off walls, light fittings broken or missing, very limited hot water. Fridges are not available in all rooms - which is annoying if you're trying to keep water/other cold. Staff were polite but indifferent. Stay somewhere else if you've got the option.
Stranded here after a flight cancellation in the evening.... Floors very dusty & dirty (cockroaches running - also in the the room of other guests), bathroom missing shower curtain, towels old and grey (not sure if really clean), cleanliness in total missing... Renovation strictly recommended... Lift doors closing while still standing in the door. No lunch, dinner or breakfast available!!!
Due to a flight cancellation, we were hosted here by MASWings. Located on the busy Borneo Highway, the main in/out road of KK, this in not a boutique hotel. The entrance foyer is inviting and clean with friendly staff however once out of the lifts on to your floor it is a different story. The hallway, which was mostly in darkness (best to have a torch) during our stay, had carpet that was in need of a decent clean. The bedrooms were spacious enough but were basic with a comfortable bed and a thin doona in a once white cover. The towels were thin and were once white but are now a light grey. Our room on the fifth floor faced the busy highway and traffic noise from cars and motorcycles was quite loud and not conducive to a good night's sleep. Aircraft noise was also a problem. Meals were made available next door and were of limited choice and of an extremely poor standard.…
We were traveling and our flight got rerouted to KK. The airline put us up in this hotel. The staff was friendly, and that is about the only nice thing I can say about this hotel. We seriously considered walking out and getting a room at another hotel. (One of the couples on the plane with us did just that after pulling back the curtains and seeing bugs). We were on the second floor in the back section on the street side of the building. The hallway was dingy and banged up. In need of a major paint job and plastering the chunks missing in the wall. The carpet was so stained and dirty, it was just disgusting. I meant to take pictures on the way out but forgot. The room was okay. Simple. Compared to the hallway, it was fairly clean. However, it stunk. The bathroom was moldy with holes in the wall and shower. I didn’t see any bugs in our room, but I also didn’t pull the curtains back. Being on the roadside it sounded like we were literally on the road. The noise from cars and motorbikes was VERY loud ... ALL night long. Given it was a free hotel room, we stuck it out. Unless you are on a VERY tight budget, I would not recommend this hotel. Much cleaner places elsewhere for the same price. …
