I stayed here for three nights. The best part of the experience is the staff is super nice, including people at the front desk and the door men. Second the location is very good! It's convenient to go everywhere from here. It takes ONE minute to walk across the street to eat the famous "bak kut teh" (pork rib soup),...

Loved the architure, the front entrance & the layout of my room. Clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. Lots of good dinning within a short walk from the hotel. Lucky you, if you are at the hotel during Sunday Market. For me, best of all, was the sight & sounds of the 100's if not 1000's of birds that roost...

We spent only one night here before starting a Sabah tour. It had lots of history and character and was very well located for a wander through Kota Kinabalu's city centre. We especially enjoyed going to the market where the fishing boats are tied up and seeing all the day's catch being cooked over coals. We ate our meal there...

The Jesselton Hotel is located in the most interesting street ( Jalan Gaya) in KK. Great location with "Old Town" cafe opposite, a popular Buk Kut Teh restauarant over the road, 24 hour minimarket 30m away, tourist office 30m away and 1 block away Peppermint Vietnamese restauarant and about the same distance to Little Italy restaurant. The Jalan Gaya Sunday...

Dated but still very charming. We had a room on the third floor, overlooking Gaya Street. It was large with lots of light. Nora, the assistant manager was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to do. Reception staff, although pleasant was limiting in information. I suspect this has more to do with language capacity....

My son and I stayed here the first night on arriving in Kota Kinabalu because it was central and until we got our bearings. Location is good. But at the end of the day it is just another, ordinary and boring hotel. It is clean, rooms OK, everything you want in a hotel. As per other comments, breakfast was just...

It´s a 15 minute taxi drive from the airport. In 1954, it was the first hotel to open in Kota Kinabalu. It´s the only boutique hotel in the town & has a colonial style. With just 32 rooms it has a very personal feel, having very friendly staff. It has a very central position. The Sunday morning Gaya Street market...

I didn't stay here, just had a meal. This is the oldest pub in KK, built by the English in the Fiftys and is in good condition from what I could see, lots of polished wood, etc. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the meal was excellent. I had steak and beers, dessert and coffee for under 50 Aussie...

Having a business trip and stay in this hotel for 3 nights. The front desk would even remember my name and greeting with me when I come back from work. The hotel and room was a bit old style but with good size and clean. But the bed was a bit soft. The hotel was located at a happening location....
