The room I stayed in was old and dated; the bed, sheets and all. In general, I had a very uncomfortable stay. The lady behind the counter when I checked in late in the afternoon seriously needs to take a course in customer service or something in hospitality (lol). However, a different lady the next morning was more professional in...

We arrived at around 9pm on a Saturday night in a rental car after an unexpected change of plans. Obviously it was dark when we arrived but the chill night air told us we were high in the mountains. We took a ‘superior/de-luxe’ room for about 170MYR, which was of a good size had wood flooring and was well decorated....

We got pressured to take a 7pm bus, when we only got off our plane at 5:30pm. We arrived at 9, got quickly checked in. When we entered our room, 4 cockroaches appeared, including one that skittled across our bed, which had a very stained duvet. I was tired and horrified. I went to go to the front desk to...

You have to view things in context. Perhaps our room would not have been worth RM 84 if it was located on the backstreet of some mid-sized Malaysian city. But right there in front of our balcony was as fine a view of Mount Kinabalu as you likely to see anywhere. On the first morning there were no clouds and...

My partner and I were very excited for our long awaited vacation to Malaysia and we kicked it off in Kota Kinabalu Park. We stayed at the Rose Cabin for 3 nights and it was an absolute pleasure. Even before we arrived, my correspondence with the Cabin was very warm and helpful. The rustic and cozy room was comfortable and...

It is such a shame that this hotel has such sloppy cleanliness standards as the location is brilliant and the view of Mt Kinabalu from most rooms is unbelievable - but the blood marks/hair/stains on the bed sheets, trickling showers, dirty floor etc is a real disappointment. The restaurant food is pretty good and reasonable but our veges weren't washed...

The room we had offered an excellent view towards Mt Kinabalu, but only in the morning as this would be the one and only time when the mountain is not entirely hidden behind clouds. The room was priced RM 135 (without breakfast) but besides the nice view it was really not worth the money. It was not clean at all...

The hotel is in a great location for climbing Mt Kinibalu – a lot of groups like mine stay one night at the hotel, leave their bags at the hotel, climb the mountain over two days staying at the Laban Rata hostel and then return to the hotel. The rooms are of a decent basic standard – get one at...

I arrived at this place after spending a couple of chilly nights in an draughty hostel at Kinalbalu Park. I love the friendliness of the place, the room was very pleasant with stunning views of Mt Kinabalu. I just wished I had more time there

“Not sure about this, just don't stay in the one we were in! We didn't get a mountain view room, so perhaps worth asking about that! Will definitely upload some photos when I can get them on here.”

“Mountain view balcony essential You might want to consider going for the dirt cheap dorm if you’re there in low season - a fraction of the price and a better shower, and if you’re lucky you might have the place to yourself.”
